Very odd behavior on my Captivate... observed both on stock 2.2 and leaked 2.3
My Captivate will periodically reboot itself; displaying the Galaxy S splash (although not seeing shutdown image). No consistent behavior to this, and when it just happened with mobile AP activated - the SSID for the phone remained visible to other devices - and I could continue chatting on Microsoft Office Communicator on a computer attached to that phone while it rebooted (although no other IP services seemed to work). The phone thought the hotspot was off - turning it back on re-established IP services to connected devices. By the way, I don't think this is Mobile AP related, I have seen this happen several times when it was not activated.
Since I have seen this now on two different stock ROMs; I am not sure whether it is a hardware issue, or something that I have installed both times that is causing this. (Phone is rooted, both times I froze the AT&T tether manager because even though I am on a corporate tethering plan, connecting would not work with it defrosted; everything else is stock).
Anyone seen such behavior before? Thoughts on whether it is hardware vs. ill behaved software?
It is probably the random reboots that happens because of bad ram on some of them
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Mine does it when I'm taxing it really hard. Pandora, dl'ing/updating apps, surfing XDA. I can feel it get hot and bam, boot animation, no shutdown. Almost like a very soft reset.
-Figured i needed a signature for my phone. This is it. I am

Something strange that has been happening with all the Tilts in our company:
For many months, we never had a problem with DirectPush or ActiveSync. One day, I started to get complaints from users that their phones were burning through batteries in just a couple of hours. Upon investigation I found that direct push was causing active sync to constantly sync the calendar on the phone. What was confusing was that the appointment count just kept getting higher until you either stopped the sync (sometimes even after you clicked stop it would just keep going) or shut the phone off.
I found that re imaging the phone or doing a successful manual sync before attempting to enable automatic direct push on the phone sometimes would cure the problem for a while .
Still the problem keeps happening. I am not sure if perhaps there is something in exchange that is wrong or if its something else. Has anyone else run into this?
Yes, I just starting noticing it with the newest builds but I have not found time to look for a solution as it really isn't that important to me right now.

Thanks for the insight! Has anyone else seen this pop up for them?

I had this happen to me a couple of days ago with the HDIV rom. It seemed to tied to the calendar. Activesync seemed fine when I unchecked the calendar. I ended up hard-resetting and things got back to normal

Me as well...
One other thing, I don't remember having this issue before we upgraded the phones to the WM 6.1 image from HTC.
As a test, I moved back to WM 6.0 to see if that makes any difference.
Hi there, until a few days ago I had great battery life with my Razr i, but I noticed that now it drains about 10 to 15% over night.
So I get BetterBatteryStats on the store but I am not really familiar with it, so I'm asking for your advices.
I can see that for a 7h25 period of time, my phone has been in Deep Sleep for 6h7 and Awake for 1h18.
1h18 is quite a long time so I guess the lead is good, but I can't really understand wich app is causing the issue.
Here are the sceernshots (next time I'll resize them :cyclops :

Ok as an update, wl1271_wake seems to be wifi activity, so I guess one of my apps is dealing with several transfers at night (1h08).
Any way to identify the app causing this ?
I thought about an app that monitors wifi and mobile data network activity, do you know a good one ?
Google now is disabled on my phone, but maps is not (I use it every day).
I don't remember having installed a new app or updated any app the day the issue appeared...
Another update :
What bothers me is the line "GTALK_ASYNC_CONN_com.google.android.gsf.gtalkservice.AndroidEndpoint", Google talk is disabled on my phone (and have been before the issue happens), any way to prevent this service to run ?
I guess it's included in "Google Services" and market/maps will not work anymore if I disabled it...
Anyways, not sure if the issue come from there as it's written to have ran for only 1m9 during the night.
Does anybody use the Sprint Public IP add-on for their plan? I turned this on to use tethering for PS/Xbox, but when I try using any custom ROMs, LTE does not work. I get signal for voice with the exclamation point, but then drops to 3g. Stock works perfectly fine, but no custom is working for me.
Edit, just additional info, I've tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51308741&postcount=276 and I've tried the sprint fix zip. I also tried restore stock backup, get data and restore custom. None work except stock based.
I know this is an old thread so I'm sorry for resurrecting it but I'm on a nexus 6 with stock software (except root) on nougat. It's 2017 and I'm having this exact same issue and I've been through multiple tiers of support with Sprint and they can't figure it out. I'm hoping someone knows a fix to this. This is the only thread I could find that has my exact same issue.
Was about to start a thread about this issue, instead I'll just resurrect this one.
I have been trying to figure this out for months now. The only think that may point to the cause I could find is in the modem packets to and from the tower. Soon as you apply Static IP the tower rejects it saying your not subscribed to this option, thus denying LTE/3G attachment with the tower. Here is a screenshot of the packet, I have gotten so far as to have an official ticket opened with sprint, and emailing countless photos to them to help them diagnose it, they do not seem to have any idea whats going on.

I do use it a lot, it just seems unusually high. It's normally below screen, but not in the past week.
Having the same issue as you. On Nexus 5 though. Android 5.1.1.
Some websites are saying people are facing this issue when they're off wifi and using mobile data. I am always on wifi though. Uninstalling all Chrome updates fixed this issue for me, although now I am on a much older version. Let me know if you found a better fix.

Factory reset did the trick, but don't know how long that will last.

Here's what I did yesterday and Chrome has been really good for the last 24 hours which has been the longest streak so far.
Uninstalled all updates, cleared all data, installed the update, then opened it and logged in.
Hello,
Sharing my problem by order of events:
Phone falls, screen cracks, LCD doesn't work
Sent to shop for repair
Brought the phone home, but noticed phones WiFi didn't work. Restored didn't work.
Decided to clean and flash phone (used miflash, running clean all script as seen here on the forum) after unlocking the device. Didn't work either.
Tried muktiple ROMs. Same thing. WiFi and GPS don't work. Only LTE.
Any ideas? Is this really a hardware issue? If so, how could it be solved?
Thanks

I also changed the battery. After battery change my wifi and gps are not working.
I think the antenna connections are not in contact with the motherboard after the repair.
