This app is super hard to find because it keeps getting deleted from the market but some how it popped back up tonight for the time being. I'm not sure how long it will be available so if you want it then have at it
In my opinion it is one of the best MP3 download apps around!
Thanks mate, just reflashed HD2 and lost the wonder Gtunes!
Any idea of the difference between lite and normal?
Not much different, the lite version is basically identical to the full version although it may have advertisements. Once you download the lite version, it will give you an option for the full one.

thought as much Thanks
Removed from the market as expected....

I'm running CM5.07.1 right now, so obviously my browser's not Flash-enabled. But could anyone who is running a Froyo ROM please try out Grooveshark and tell me if it works/performs acceptably? It's about the one thing that truly matters to me as far as Flash content goes, as the Android app it offers sucks something terrible.
Have you tried the new Grooveshark app that was just released a couple of days ago? Still not the best but a lot better than the original app.
this is still a closed beta correct?
The Grooveshark app is only for VIP members (meaning paying $30 a year or $3 a month). Otherwise, you can use the website for free and its supported by ads.
Yep, and I don't feel like paying to stream music (hissss). The website didn't run with Flash lite, so I was wondering if the "real" Flash in Froyo plays nicer with it.
Did your app auto-update?
I don't remember seeing mine update, ill check it out tho
Edit: I don't even see grooveshark on the market anymore? Froyo newest release-FR72
I checked for updates and found it. I also saw some people talking about it on Twitter. It is a big upgrade though... It now lets you play higher quality songs over wifi and an overall better layout. Still wish it could be as good as the website, but hopefully it will get there someday.
Are you updating from the market?
Yeah, got the update from the market. I'm running stock 2.1 on AT&T. It came out a couple of days ago and has the new icon that has the white sharkfin, you might have already gotten it.
Nope, 2.2 not seeing even the original in the market place.
Think you can upload the app?
I love grooveshark, but this original app sucks!
Thanks in advance,
Blake
I don't know how to find where I got the .apk file from since I just got from the market, but you might try going to http://m.grooveshark.com/ and see if you can download it from there.
Looks like they also have some updated screenshots here - http://m.grooveshark.com/phones/android
That looks SO much better than the old version!
Yea market isn't seeing it and trying to download it from grooveshark.com
didn't work either.
thanks for trying with the .apk
Guess i'll just have to wait until they update there app for 2.2
Old thread but...
Anyone having serious issues with Grooveshark not seeing your subscription correctly or not downloading play lists, etc?
I'll add to the fire...I'm having issues with Grooveshark as well. I'm on 2.2 and keep getting the "IO error preparing stream" issue.
Any help would be great.
Greeting everyone, Obviously my name is Rizzo.
I am looking into getting the Aria here pretty soon as ATT has them for $29.99!
Now I am a car guy right to the bone, So I started looking into this entry level Android phone because I heard of just one app. Torque.
Can someone please look at their Android Marketplace and see if it's listed ?
Second thing is after I gain some trust and post enough, I'd really really like to barter services.... Dude can I work on your car so you'll work on my phone ?
EY SKARED!
Thanks for reading.
Looks like there is a free version as well as a paid version. Never heard of it before but looks like a great tool for the do it yourselfer car mechanic!

Awesome, Now I have to see one and play with it at the store.
Thank goodness there's a Mac version of some things I'll have to do to this phone.
So a few days ago, I flashed the Larger Than Life EF17 ROM that recently came out. I loved having a rooted Tab with Froyo so i jumped when i saw it in Gingerbread.
I am having one annoying problem though. I am unable to find a few apps on the Anidroid Market that were there on stock Gingerbread. The main two i can think of are Netflix and Documents2Go. I purchased the activating/key program for D2G and can find that but no luck on the main app.
I dont absolutely need Netflix but D2G is my favorite office app and use it nearly daily.
The other oddity is that in the latest market, it shows Books for purchase but i dont see a single movie to rent. The entire movie section is missing from the market.
I understand this is likely causes by the device fingerprint but i dont know what to change it to.
Does anyone have any ideas on what i could do to get back the apps i had in stock EF17? I would have replied to the ROM thread in the Development forum but i havent posted enough on the xda forums to do so.
There are ways to fix the symptoms very easily, but it won't fix the problem you're describing. I've got a netflix apk I can post that should work(don't have d2g). But like I said, won't make apps come up in the market.

i've got the same issue, and cannot update my system apps in the market (says I am up to date, even though I am not).
i keep just pulling them down off my phone and emailing them to myself, but that gets old
Just passing this on, Getjar is giving away more new free apps including tapatalk and Tweet caster pro ! Enjoy happy Halloween

Tried it today, its really cool. You just have to install the getjar app/service, then you can get apps like tapatalk or HockeyNations 2011 for free....that just rocks
Do the apps still work if you get rid of getjar?

Yes they do. GetJar has been around for quite some time too, it's kinda cool to see it getting the attention it has been lately.
I've seen alot of members mention this service. Nothing wrong with keeping the service on device is there? Wasnt sure if people were using the service and then taking off their phones or what.
agrred I already use them and they are great!
great. thanks!! always wanted to try tapatalk.
They seem to add new apps weekly so check back in occasionally

Does anybody know how GetJar apps are updated?
They're not appearing in my Android Market list and I don't see how to do it in the GetJar app....
Will I have to go through Manage Apps->Downloaded Apps->Update every time?
Sorry if this is a silly question, but I've only been using GetJar for a little while.

you can't even update that way because you didn't buy it through market.
getjar apps don't get updates unless the publisher puts them on there, in which case you have to download it manually.
for example, the current version of tapatalk is actually 1.12.7, but getjar only has the 1.12.6 version.
but hey, free stuff is free stuff

good to know, i'm actually new to it too. i knew of it but heard more on twit/all about android. honestly i thought the Gold program was still a paid (like subscription) deal so i never checked it out. but yeah its totally awesome.
as with all alternative app stores, the updating is an issue but they are aware of it and working towards better solutions. right now it really is mainly on the developers who have to push their apps to different stores which is tedious. but yeah, i'm totally into free stuff even if its a version behind. if i need it that bad, i can support the dev and buy it via market.
Is SPB Shell in there? No way in hell I'm paying $15 for a launcher that I'll be bored with in one day.

Thank you very much for explaining that. It makes much more sense now...
As best I can tell, it's a great way to try out paid versions - especially when the paid version is more than just ad-free. If I find it worth while (and that it's worth the price to have the most recent version) I'll probably end up paying for the most recent version.
everyone should check out fractoid
So, a friend of mine is upgrading to a new phone and said that she was literally going to run over her DROID 3 with her car because she hated it so much. I convinced her to instead let me give her $10 for it so I could play around with it.
I'm not really new to Android, I have an ATRIX HD and a Nexus 7 both on Jelly Bean. But I've never used any of the android versions before ICS, so I'm a noob in that regard.
Anyway, I'm looking for some cool stuff I could do with it. I won't be using it as a phone, more of as a toy. I've heard somewhere that you can convert old smartphones into security cameras and stuff like that. Doing that would be great because it would let me keep an eye on my dog while I'm at work.
I plan on doing a factory reset as soon as she gives it to me, but I'm open to ideas about what to do after that. I figured I would flash CM or maybe a different ROM.
Please, give me some ideas on what I could do with it! Thanks guys.
Use it of course!! the keyboard is awesome.
- make sure you're on .906 firmware (latest)
- root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497690
- Install safestrap 3.05 http://goo.im/devs/Hashcode/solana

Its not a bad phone for free. Basically the stock Motoblur GB ROM is terrible due and it doesn't have much free RAM. If you plan on using the camera flash a stock 2.3.4 based ROM, I'd recommend Minimoto, although stock rooted would probably work fine. It has a good camera 8MP/1080p so it should work great as a remote webcam device.
I'm thinking of using mine like those Android HDMI sticks when I retire it so I can stream Netflix, Youtube, etc from it on my TV.
It makes a good PMP if you ask me. Also the keyboard is good for tweeting and such, (but most of those things call for 3g) but its still a neat little device, could use it as a media player as well.
The Droid 3 is by far the BEST QWERTY out there! it deserves better treatment! I recently bought a brand new one (manufactured in August 2012) and they even changed the hardware a bit! The gap between display and keyboard in the bottom left corner is gone, and the pulling area of the battery door moved from the middle to the edge for better getting off the battery door. Also they used an other display obviously because there are no more vertical stripes visible when the display is turned off.

I didn't think about using it to hook to the TV. That's a good idea. Do you know if there are any guides on how to set it up as a remote webcam?
