Because you use the kernel for Captivate. Download the right i9000 version and you'll be okay. Trust me, this kernel is worth it. UV is so awesome and I never dropped a percent when in deep sleep.

Talon 0.4.3 non-O/C but slightly UV, all file systems on ext4.
Had to ajdust minfree settings with AutoKiller to 50/60/70 to get it really smooth though.
It's a good and fast kernel with great battery performance, but the current version has a small memory leak that will be fixed in the next release.

EDIT: DUE TO SAMSUNG CHANGING THE SMALI BINARIES, THE APK'S AND JAR FILES DID NOT RECOMPILE CORRECTLY. Because of this, when you flash, you will be greeted with about 1/4 of the apps, and only 1 icon on the launcher, and a lot of FC's from acore. I am working to resolve this, but seeing as how I haven't gotten any work done today, It wont be until later I can get to this. I have removed the link for the time being.
I apologize to anyone who did flash this before this was identified.
Here you guys go.
Sorry it took so long to get this up. Samsung updated the smali binaries, so I had to update mine (thanks Sombionix)
Removed a couple of Apps to allow for system space. (I saw on the Odex'd thread that some people wanted Layer, so I left that for you.
Here we go:
Firmware: UVKA5
Version: 2.2
Basband: T959UVKA5
Rooted: Yes
DeOdexed: Yes
Modded Recovery: Yes
Correct CSC Files: Yes
Download: removed due to deodex issue. will edit link once it's fixed.
Thank you, looking forward to trying it out

Nope, not at all, and actually, I thought about using it, however, people request pure stock when ever we post a modded leak. So this way, they have their pure stock, and if they want, they can use the VCK to mod it.
Best flash method?
Cause If I don't ask someone will, what is the best method of flash. Odin stock->KA5, disable voodoo/lagfix first then just flash cwm, etc. Thanks again for the quick turnaround on this build.

with new builds I like to odin to stock first and then flash. To me this seems like it minimizes any problems you could have when flashing.

Confirm allshare is still there. Also, try out twonky media in app store; it has previews of pic files and movies.
First thing is first. I DID NOT DEODEX THIS! Untermensch did. I just took his deodexed files and put them into a flashable zip for everyone (with his permission). So please be sure to thank him for this (as well as everything else he does for the community!).
Ok, so as stated in the thread title this is a fully deodexed build of the newly released T959UVKA5. It comes complete with annoying bootup/shutdown sounds, bloat, root, Superuser app, Busybox and modded 3e recovery. This is STOCK. Flash through recovery like normal. This zip also includes one additional non-stock app called "Quick Boot" which can be used to reboot into recovery/download mode. I was unaware of its inclusion when I posted this but see no reason to remove it and re-upload the file. If you do not want it simply use Root Explorer to delete it.
Side Note: I have made the power menu for this rom here. It includes both the power menu and the lockscreen mod ported by Untermensch here.
Also, if you are interested in the KA5 Voodoo kernel it can be found in the OP of Supercurio's thread here.
Thank you and please enjoy!

Since this rom uses the stock kernel instead of a voodoo kernel yes you do have to disable voodoo before flashing.
Yes...this is not a voodoo enable rom....its stock. You can get a KA5 voodoo kernel from Supercurio's Voodoo post tho..
heheheh... I need to "refresh" a little quicker....
Edited since the voodoo question was answered four times before I could post, lol. Are we a little excited about this new leak?
I have modded the phone.apk from this deodexed version to kill the ascending ringer.

This is probably a stupid question but, does this kernel include the signal drop reboot fix for i9000 roms or is that something I need to do in addition to the kernel? Also if Its not included do I intall the reboot fix before or after I install a i9000 rom?
Thanks in advance
Just ran this script on my CM9'd 8.9.
It's amazing. Scrolling lag is gone, 'sticky' scrolling is gone. I can load up engadget and the whole website is loaded from top to bottom, can scroll up and down it without waiting for anything to load it's so smooth.
Best of all, press the home button and it doesn't keep having to redraw widgets.

As nice as the hubs are, I'd use a custom rom over the stock any day of the week. The stock roms just too slow and laggy, makes the hubs useless. I'd rather have a smooth device...yeah it means using crappy apps like plume and friendcaster, but gets the job done...

Well I've never tried it but if you got the zip file of the Rafael kernel (the boot.img one obviously) and replaced the boot.img inside it with the one I posted then I can see no reason why it wouldn't work.
However, this is partly why I have recently asked the question is it possible to boot into download mode without a working boot.img? My inclination is 'yes, it runs off the bootloader' but nobody seems to know the answer. So until I find out I'm hesitant to try it without being certain just in case something goes wrong.
