I've noticed the Xoom Honeycomb wallpaper found on the interwebs is terribly low quality. You can see gradient banding and pixelization. Its quite sad really since its such a cool image.
Anyway, I've redone the wallpaper to get rid of these artifacts. I will post 2 versions, one is the original size (1920x1408) and the other is formatted for the NC (1024x600).
Enjoy!
*EDIT*
Didn't realize that attaching them to the thread would compress/lower quality. Here are direct links

Honeycomb 1024x600
Thanks so much for this!! It works perfectly with Honeycomb Tablet Tweaked theme.

No problem. I'm really amazed at how low the quality is on the version that is floating around the web. Gradient banding drives me insain. If you are going for a honeycomb look then you should check out the ripple lock app.

Its the begining of a new way of building beautifull wallpapers that u can actually bring to life. Now that's Insanely cool If that's a word?.........lol

Where do you see that someone has it working with 2.1? I only see them getting it to work with 2.0.1.
Does anybody have or is there a way we can get the live wallpaper from the Nexus? I want the grey screen that has the colored blocks that move up and down.

theres one in market called starfield
http://uk.androlib.com/android.application.com-discoverdroid-starfield-pDCp.aspx
or type "live wallpaper" in market for more like duck hunt where you shoot ducks
I bought the blobs live wallpaper, I actually find it quite nice (looks some what like a concert laser) also seems less stressful than the star field.
Id say its worth the $1.26 (.99 pounds)
I bought Rainbow and Bokeh. Might just be in my head, but Rainbow seems to be the smoothest running LWP on my G1 in terms of causing lagginess. Bokeh seems to eat up more memory or something because switching homescreens gets pretty choppy.
Is it possible to enable Live Wallpaper on the NC?
Perhaps after an update to 2.2 from B&N, which will need to be rerooted....and then might still not work. Unfortunatly Live Wallpaper needs 2.2 and currently the Nook is 2.1.
I would be curious to see Live Wallpaper running on the Nook that was posted running Froyo.

I noticed a little lag with Circuit lwp, and some other live wallpapers don't even seem to work due to the resolution (pixel zombies).
I'm a little more concerned about the battery drain.

Wouldn't that only be a big issue if you spent a lot of time with the screen on and not using an app (i.e. when the home screens are showing) ?

This is true.
Any interactions with the Launcher will result in increased battery use for the live wallpapers. Depending on the efficiency of the LWP itself, some being better than others.
I wanted the stock blue honeycomb wallpaper with the android bee but I couldn't find it anywhere so I made one myself.
Here it is for anyone else that might want it too.
This looks great! nice job.. do you have vector art for the honeycomb bee?

I added the honeycomb bee file I used to the OP, as well as a full resolution files of the wallpaper. I think the forum cut the image size down when I uploaded it.
I made a Nvidia and honeycomb wallpaper i'd like to share.
Disclaimer: Neither of these images are mine I just put them together with my poor photoshop skills.
Wallpaper from Wallpaper Stag.
Bee from Google
EDIT: Per Jase33's suggestion, I've added the correct resolution wallpaper.
Thanks for posting that image.. Here's a couple I made.
Background is my design, bee and logo borrowed of course.

I have spent the last several hours downloading wallpapers from 4walled.org for my phone. The wallpapers look so nice on the computer, and I really wanted to start theming my phone with them.
So I've loaded up the 300+ wallpapers to my SD-card, and as I start browsing through them in the gallery, I have realized one immutable fact: they all look horrible. The gradients aren't really gradient, they're splotchy.
It was my understanding that this phone's LCD was capable of 24bit color? Perhaps it is not and this is where my woes are from. I have also noticed that .PNG backgrounds do seem to look better than the .jpg counterparts.
Any comments or wisdom into selecting backgrounds would be greatly appreciated.
I just looked at some of those images and they dont look that high quality to me. Maybe your monitor is older and made them look better than they are. Check here for some more. Maybe you will find some you like. http://wallbase.cc/start/
Look up "wallpaper set and save" on market, it will eliminate the color banding you get when you set a wallpaper through the gallery app.
Also make sure the resolution on any wall you get is a minimum of 960x800.

I use fish bowl photo which will also eliminate the banding. dodol wallpaper maker works great for setting portrait wallpapers too.

Thank you for that site, I always used Interfacelift.net. Nice addition.
I regularly raid DeviantArt for backgrounds and use Wallpaper Wizardrii to set the wallpapers. WW allows you to set a properly sized background without cropping.

Do you prefer that over the Fish Bowl Gallery? And does it support high-resolution images?

I've never used Fish Bowl. I only just started using WW today, but I would think that the no crop feature would only work on a wallpaper that was at or below the correct size for the display.
its all about nik.bot.nu thanks for wallbase.cc tho, another site to lose large chunks of my life too lmao
I get my wallpapers from socwall.com. Thats where I found my current wallpaper.
Thanks for all the links and the info! I will surely check those out!

Wallpaper Set and Save will fix what you've described, including the gradients issues you've mentioned.

I did a little searching on the forums but havnt come accross a post that has the correct size for a wallpaper size that wont look all pixelated and terrible when applied. ive tried 1200x1024 and even 1900x1024 it all looks pretty bad. Any information would be awesome! Thanks
No offense but didn't look to hard. The VERY first page of Themes and Apps section has the thread your looking for, with all the details you want. In a nutshell there is no REAL resolution, but that thread has the solution and it works very well.

Give Multi Picture Live Wallpaper a try, free in the market. Has worked 100% for me.
Rodney
Install QuickPic (free) and set wallpaper with it. It'll keep the image nice and sharp.
example: http://k.min.us/ib6DuE.png
It's also a great image viewer, faster than the gallery and easy to exclude certain folders.
Agree with previous post. Greaet app.
Quickpic does a good job for Portrait wallpapers but fails badly at Landscape. Ive tried everything possible on the nook for a locked landscape setup and the best result ive had was gathering a ton of pictures, slapping them into a folder, then selecting that folder inside a app called Wall Switch from the market, and just keep switching till a razor sharp one shows up.
I know its not a proper method, but after a while, at least one of them shows up super sharp and high-res and looks amazing. Wish i could be more precise, but thats all i got.
I love what you did

Eozoon, I wish you had posted how you arranged such a nice looking layout. Does anyone know what he used? I would love to know.
*EDIT* I found out where the battery and disk widgets come from, if I find out anymore I'll update my post.
Calendar widget
CPU widget
Folder icons
Battery % widget => Mini Info
disk usage widget => Mini Info
Toggle widget
Launcher/theme
I forgot what the clock is might just be beautiful widgets. Sorry I used to know but this ins't much help.
The cpu widget is SetCPU.
Not sure about the others.

Calendar widget - I assume you mean the clock? That's Simi Clock, I also use Simple Calendar Widget for the actual calendar in an other homescreen.
CPU widget - SetCPU
Folder icons - Simi Folder
Battery % widget => Mini Info
disk usage widget => Mini Info
Toggle widget - Widgetsoid
Launcher/theme - ADW, default theme, I think. Wallpaper from Wallbase.
Thanks for the info. Now I can get mine looking spiffy.

Search on the market for an app called "Image 2 Wallpaper". It's given really clear images and allows for different scaling options.
