Mugen extended 4800mAh battery - Streak 5 Accessories

I recently got mine and I will leave a review on it on this thread in a week or so. Apparently the battery gets better and better if you charge it right, after about a week. That and I have a couple programs I'm trying, to correctly recalibrate it. Battery Left widget, Battery Monitor, which measures it by mAv rather than regularly. And Battery Calibrator, which deletes the battery file in the phone, and remakes it. I have the most hope in that one. Can anyone else give a review on a good program to CORRECTLY calibrate this battery?

i purchased one of these myself a while ago and unless quality has improved, i was hugely disapointed for the cost
the 2 internal elements of the battery are 'stuck together' with a black tape style surround. This causes after some use of separate device charging ( charging in a charger and not the phone ) the battery to lose its shape causing the streak to think a battery is not present
the life of the battery itself is good, but the.g

The 4800mAh one doesn't have a clip. And the only thing I don't like about this battery is the fact that the cover is plastic. But I'm in love with the battery itself. I've done everything I can to make it die. Streak's overclocked to 1.2gHz. Backlight's up. Bluetooth is on. Wifi is on. Even been playing music a -lot-. It's been off a charger for 83 hours.

Update. The same thing I love with this battery, I also hate. The instructions said to charge to 100%, let it die, and repeat for about the first 5 charges. I haven't been able to do this, and I -have- to charge it tonight. I don't even know what percent it's at, which is driving me crazy... I'm literally trying to get the battery to die... This is a mere annoyance, for now, though... I'm sure I'll get used to it... I'll just charge it every 3 days, or something.

My battery JUST died! Lol....Atleast 60 hours of use, with atleast 10 hours of playing music...

wow 60 hrs is hectic.. i might get me one aswel

60 freakin hours? Crazy stuff! Tempted to also get one.

My first charge was over 86 hours.

I see that all the Mugen Extended battery posts are from August so I have to wonder if the battery issue has been fixed. When I got my battery it would give me 3-4-5 days .. then as soon as I upgraded from 1.6 to 2.1 or 2.2 I would get a low battery warning long before my battery was used up. I had to remove the battery and turn it back on for the warning message to go away. Besides that being a pain in the butt, you have to be VERY VERY careful to not break the plastic clips .. I could get by with one broken off but sometimes the phone would shut off .. so ... Are you all not getting the low battery warning ?? I contacted Mugen often and they couldn't figure out the problem. they said the problem was with Dell and Dell wouldn't tell them how to fix it.

Well, on my last charge, I got the low battery warning after 3 days...You have to delete the battery stats file then charge it to 100% and let it die. It calibrates it a bit better, atleast.

I have read other posts that state that these extended batteries use a pack that actually contains two batteries and that power cycling the phone when it gets to or near zero causes the battery meter to properly read it after it has switched to the second battery.

I bought mine when they first arrived at Mugen. I don't remember how long ago that was but I was posting daily my battery status. Probably a year ago. I think I got 4 days. Not heavy usage. I was on T-Mobile Edge. That was before I upgraded from 1.3 to 2.1 or whatever it was. IMMEDIATELY the Streak could no longer read the battery. It isn't really 2 batteries hooked together .. or maybe it is .. there is the part of the battery that fits in where the original battery goes and then the rest of the battery is the size of the cover .. but thin .. Any way .. It would tell me that I needed to re-charge, but all I had to do was remove the battery and replace it and get more life from the battery. Still .. it never felt as long having to remove and replace. If I remember correctly - resetting the Streak didn't do the job, the battery needed to come out. It was a pain because the cover isn't metal and the little clips are plastic .. BE VERY CAREFUL removing the cover. Mugen will replace the cover but it sucks having to treat it so gently.
Whatever ... in the end. NO PROBLEMS with the original 1.3 version .. THAT could read the life of the battery correctly. I thought by now one of the XDA people would have come up with a fix. I think I won't buy another until there is a fix. If you have to constantly take it out and put it back, may as well have 2 of the regular batteries. Then you don't have to worry about that CHEAP plastic back cover.

I found this post of mine from BEFORE I UPGRADED to 2.2 ..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831282
at 10th November 2010
"Today has been 72 hours since I unplugged it from the charger and I am at 58% .. I am not going to put it on the charger until it won't start !!"
I don't know where I posted after that ... but I know I got at least another day.

Well, they tell you on the site that it won't read the battery correctly.

Mugen didn't know that it wouldn't read the battery until people started complaining after the 2.2 upgrade. I know this because I was one of the first to buy the battery and the first to get upset after I upgraded.

Well...If you've ever used Battery Dr., they calculate how long you can use music, video, 3g, wifi, etc. And since this is approximately 3x as powerful as the regular battery (Mugen says 3.14x) I just extended the times to calculate, by 3x.

Cool to see people having success with this.....I think I'm going to spring for the 1800 mAh battery from Mugen and see how it works. Not really into having a flimsy extended case for my phone. Even though multiple day charges would be nice, I'm just looking to make it through 10-12 hours.

LOL that thing is huge!! It doesn't look that comfortable. I just bought a second battery as a back up. I figure that since I am pulling out my battery to reset the phone once or twice every day that I would make sense to have a fully charged battery in case I was low on juice or something.

I saw Mugen Power 2600mah extended battery which is thinner than the OEM with reset
hole on the cover, you donot need to remove the battery cover in case you need to reset,
you can find our from Youtube.
I would love to see a profile shot of one of these. I have not seen a single one...no comparisons...nothing.
WOW that would make my hd2 look like one of the 90's cellphones
anyways you should take a look at ZAGGsparq™ Portable charger
its a bit pricey but I think It would be worth the money, Im thinking of buying it

Does the kickstand feel pretty sturdy? And, does it "snap" into fully-open/fully-closed positions, or does it travel freely between them?
Does anyone have any news on when the extended life SLIM battery will be released, either by SEIDIO or MUGEN POWER? I'd like more battery life but not that huge back.
*EDIT* Found one from Mugen Power.. only and extra 70 mAh.. not sure if it's worth it but I might buy.

i heard that HTC HD2 Extended Battery BP E400 will not fit HD2 TMOUS version very well and i am looking for someone to confirm this for me ?
Well im bored in my class. So i guess, ill write up this review.
First off, I purchased andida battery off ebay, and is a very well known, i believe korean battery maker. It took two weeks from Hong Kong for me to receive the battery. Second, i did proper break-in for the battery, about 5-6full charge & discharges. The OEM battery barely lasted the entire day for me, i disconnect from the charger at 9 A.M., and by 8:30, im at 1%!! With the new battery, the same goes, but by 8:30, im at 15%, and will die by about 10ish. I have the phone set for push email, and the bulk of my email comes in about between 10am & 2pm. The Sense updates are set to 4 hour updates & im constantly connected to 3G. The phone never sees a charger in between 9AM & 10pm. Hopefully this sheds some light about this battery.

I'm using the 2600mah Mugen extended battery and I gotta say its a huge improvement. I work 10 hour shifts and I use to leave work with only about 30-20% left and now I'm at 65-70% at the end of shift. I use it as a router a couple times a day, listen to a couple songs, and look stuff up online. I was real timid about using my phone at all cuz it would kill my battery, but now I have no problems with heavy usage. It does take a couple charges to really unlock the batteries full capacity.

Ordered the same battery. Have had it about a week and a half, and I'm only by my third charge. The only complaints I have so far are the 4-5 12 hour charges that the instructions say you should do initially (thankfully I only have 2 more charges to go); and the battery cover included is flimsy. It pops off with the slightest touch. Might be just a defect on mine, but maybe others can confirm this. Good thing I had another cover that stays on.

2150mAh + Extended Door

EDIT: It's here!
http://shop.htcpedia.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=819
It appears to be OEM, and is gonna be much cheaper than the crap out now.
My main issue, what cases are gonna fit around this nicely?
I don't want it to be a fatso.. Then theres also the issue of heat, considering the larger battery and a case on top.
Thoughts?
I see at the bottom of the page they are suggesting to buy the brackettron car mount.
Does that mean the official car dock won't fit with this higher back and battery?
I really want the bigger battery, seems i'll have to get a new dock too.
Correct, the phone will be too big to fit the official car dock with a extended battery on it.
What I recommend is buying the battery and holding off on the car dock. Is the battery gonna make THAT much of a difference? Really?
It comes out on July the 6th... your post says June... just fyi
They better make a rubberized case for that thing.

After reading the thorough comparisons of OEM and aftermarket batteries in the N1 forum (by user dougie i believe?)
I thought it would be a better idea to wait for an HTC extended battery.
Save money, and guaranteed quality.
I haven't tried seidio products so I can't say they are bad, but i'd trust HTC over them anyday.

I've used their cases and extended cap batts on BlackBerries and, now, on my DINC. Probably had 6 extended caps on BlackBerrys, and their holsters are the only ones I'll use - nothing but the best quality and design.
As for the extended cap batts, they perform the way I'd expect them to. I've had not difficulties with them, nor have I experienced anything that would keep me from continuing to buy their product in the future. The only "downside" is that yes, they tend to be on the pricier side but, again, worth it. Just my opinion and experience though.

Like with any battery, you need to condition it first. It needs to go through 3 or so full battery cycles (completely charged to completely dead) to get to its full potential. If you did not do this, then you are not getting accurate results. I received this battery Monday, and its just now getting to its full potential. I've gone 2 full days without charging on normal use and one time I just laid it all out turning bluetooth on, GPS, leaving wifi tether on (even though I wasn't always using it), had all my accounts syncing every hour, and left an irc chat open in the background and still got well over a day of use.
Lithium ion batteries don't need to be cycled this will do nothing for battery life. Nickle cadmium on the other hand does need cycling.

Dozens of members and thread posts would disagree. And mine has increased every cycle since I've got it.
I don't know about conditioning.
My first charge I got over 28 hours out of it till 14% warning came on. Then 5 more hours till it came down to 10% battery left.
GPS, WiFi always on. and over 5 hours of talk time with that first charge. Something's wrong with your situation. Check all apps.
PS. I have Task Killer, but it ONLY runs when I tell it to kill apps manually. And I manually select the app to kill each time. (easier than going into settings>applications>yada yada). ATK does not run on its own on my phone.
---
2nd charge on my battery.
GPS, WiFi always on
Bluetooth Off
About 1.5 hours of total talk time today.
13:01 uptime
2:49 awake time
Voice Calls 27%
Cell Standby 21%
Phone Idle 19%
Wi-Fi 13%
Android System 12%
Dialer 4%
Display 4%
67% battery left
I'm on track to gettig another 28 hours of phone being "on" till next charge, if not more.
Well just ordered one since my 1750 is not holding up like when I first got it...

Ordered the 3500 Mah today and found out that Verizon will take the 2150 back as long as it is within the 30 days. I am trying the cycling and what I see happening is that the longer I own the phone the less I am looking at every item and spending time looking for Apps. This in turn means the screen is on less time and so the battery life is becoming longer.
I am pretty impressed with the 2150. After 36 hours .. comprised of slightly above moderate usage during the day time.. I got about 21% left. GPS and Bluetooth were always left on.. used navigation for about 30 mins a day.

Mkk members may disagree but it is hard to disagree with facts which in this case full discharge and recharge is considered a placebo effect. Due to the fact that "lithium-ion is memory-free in terms of performance deterioration but many batteries have fuel gauges." Aka "digital memory" what this does is reports to your phone how much estimated charge you have left.

dell streak mugen 1800 Mah

Yesterday I Got my mugen 1800 mAh (original size) battery.
WOW!
Allmost 7 hours passed right now, doing what I always do (phonecalls, push email etc) and still 87% battery left!
The original battery was really OK (about 20/24 hours) to be honest, but this is much better
Your phone battery percentage, wont be calibrated for the new size in battery so you must have just used your phone less than you usually do. With extended battery, the percentage rate goes down to 1% just as fast as your old battery, but when its gets to 1 your battery just keeps going until it runs out.
You maybe right, but I just had the bluetooth and wifi on for the whole tima, made a few phonecalls and data push as always:
Running for more than 12 hours, percentage left is 61

do you use any of the built in power conservation features, or apps maybe? I don't get that kind of performance with my 1800. Did you do the requisite 5 day 8 to 12 hour charges religiously?
The only energy saving thing I use is the automatic display brightness (android stock). Today I used the phone more intensive and after 10 hours still got 70% batt.

Its strange how varied people's streak battery lasts. I use mine quite a bit, like listen to music and surf the internet and text for half and hour to and from work, then same for my half hour break and for my hour break at lunch, so that's 2 and a half hours of music net texting sometimes gaming also. And when I put it on charge before I go to sleep its normally over 50% everyday, it just about lasts 2 days doing the same thing on my breaks and on way to work. But normally charge it everyday just incase that's pretty good battery life I think. Might get one of these extended batteries. Really thinking about the massive 4800 one, but would like to see and hold it with it inbefore I bought it, but don't know anywhere that sells them where I live.
I had one of those 1800 mAh batteries too but it gave me worse performance than stock. I returned it. I dont know what was wrong.

the varied performance might have a little bit to do too with how many and what kind of apps are installed on a given device. I know I have a whole heap of stuff that I really have no serious need for, but see running in the background every so often doing what they do. I used to freeze them because I want to keep them, but don't necessarily want them right away.
I've done away with all that now though. Bought an Atrix with a 1930 Mha battery. Love the Streak as I did, I can now once again operate my phone with one hand again.
I am currently waiting on the mugen 1800 Mah battery and I am also testing the 4800 Mah battery really large but I use my Streak alot at work for calls, SMS, email exchange (Moxier Mail) photo's, internet and also reading books etc...

Mugen 1800mAh Extended Battery
Hi all well I have been testing the 1800mAh battery and completed my review at MobilitySite.com, if any one is interested they can view it at the link below. The one benefit of the 1800mAh battery is that it is the same size as the standard 1530mAh battery so no new battery cover.
Mugen 1800mAh Battery Review.
Currently now using and testing the 4800mAh battery... WOW! just love it only been using it for about 5 days got 40 hrs the other day, currently at 62% now and it has been off the cradle since 6:43am and it is now 8:24pm - almost 14 hours.
It is big but for me thats fine, I will be completing another review this weekend with photo's.
Cheers guys...
Is there any car mount that fits the Streak with the 4800 battery?
Hey people
If anyone is interested I have just posted my review on the MUGEN 4800mAh battery just click the review image in my signature.
Really liked the battery was excellent got up to 40 hours before I had to charge again, size was large but still easy to use, just wish there was a case that would fit it.
Cheers
Really like that review. I'm actually in the process of getting one of these batteries for my Dell Streak. The original battery in my phone overheated and isn't holding a charge very well after that incident. So I am getting the 1800 mAh battery.
Looks like it is going to take awhile as it is taking the long way from China to the US but, after reading that, I'm pretty convinced that it will be worth it. I will update when I recieve it.

Any good 3500mAh or 3800mAh batteries for the G4

Hi
See lots of 4000+ batteries and standard 3000, but are there any good 3500 or 3800? (want to keep normal back, no added bulk)
Ones I have seen look cheap and nasty (no brand) and I have a feeling they will add nothing extra.
Anyone got a 3500/3800mAh, did you get noticeable difference, worth it?
Thanks
Its not possible to have a higher capacity (mAh) Li-ion battery without increasing its size.
I personally use the TrendON LG G4 Battery kit and have been really happy with it. While the batteries last about ~75% as long as the OEM battery, it comes with 3 (depending on the bundle you choose) and a wall charger. Really great deal and an 18 month warranty! http://www.amazon.com/TrendON-3000-Spare-Replacement-Battery/dp/B010P2BQ2S
Hope this helps!
I ordered a (supposedly...) 3500 mAh battery online. It's the same size as the stock battery. My expectations are low, most likely won't actually live up to the rating etc. Either way I'll let you know after it's in my hands and I try it out for a day or two. Hoping it doesn't turn my beloved G4 into a pile of melted plastic.

Yeah I know what you mean, the ones I have seen look so cheap and ready to do more harm than good.
If some good company would just make one around that level, but bigger than 3800 and you need new case/adds bulk.
Fingers crossed one you get is all good.

You haven't paid much attention to LIPO packs since the beginning, have you? LIPO batteries are constantly getting smaller while packing more and more current capacity. A denser battery pack is possible just as a LIPO pack with the same size dimensions having less capacity than 3000mAh
Bit shocked Mugen have not done one, I see they tested a 3100mAh, but a extra 100? is it worth it, thought for sure they would have tried a 3200/3500mAh, but all there is out there is cheap no name stuff.

Well, my 3500mAh arrived. It appears to be very well built. In no way does it feel or look cheap. It is ever-so-slightly thicker than the OEM LG battery, and also slightly heavier 49.4 grams, compared to 46.3 grams for the LG.
The extra thickness and weight is to be expected for the slight (claimed) increase in capacity.
I popped it in and it fit perfectly, snug but not too snug. Just enough that I could hold my phone without the cover on, screen up, and the battery would not fall out. My stock black leather back fit right back on without a problem.
Powered on and the charge level was right around 80%. I charged it to full, then ran down to 5% or so. I repeated that a few times before evaluating it's performance.
Sadly I didn't do much to test the stock battery, but I can tell you I was never able to get more than 3 hrs of screen-on time. Same with 4 TrendOn batteries! The TrendOn batteries also occasionally caused problems where my phone would shut off when taking a picture with flash. Wouldn't turn back on until I switched batteries. Maybe it would've had I plugged in a charger, but I never tried. That would happen even if the battery was over 60-70%.
Also using the TrendOn, sometimes I would put a freshly charged one in and my battery level would be stuck at 80%, never going up or down. Usually that would "fix" itself after a few reboots.
After using this battery for a little under 2 wks I can say I'm very pleased. I regularly get over 4 hrs screen-on time now. Using auto-brightness, and doing random things like browsing Reddit, XDA, watching YouTube videos, streaming music with Pandora or Spotify, etc.
I've taken many pictures with and without flash and haven't had a single reboot. Also haven't had the 80% bug. Both of which plagued 3 out of 4 TrendOn batteries.
Charges just as fast as the LG battery. Just over an hour from ~10%-100% using a QuickCharge 2.0 charger, and stock or equivalent cable.
I guess only time will tell if this battery continues to perform as well as its been, or if it decides to incinerate my phone... Since I received it, I haven't taken it out. Haven't needed to as it easily gets me through the workday(sometimes the entire day) , even with moderate to heavy use. Now that I have a QuickCharge 2.0 charger at home, and in my car, I don't even carry a spare battery. 15-30 mins on one of them and I'm good for several more hours.
I'm not sure who makes the battery. I don't think any name is printed, only "Made In China." I bought it using the BangGood app. I'll update if I experience ANY problems.
any link or screenshot please? would like to get one

Hi All,
Dude your looking on the wrong places. Try AliExpress for Batteries and more! A 3800mah Battery an't going to cut it man. You'll need a case for it. Like mine with a 7700mah Battery. Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/accessories/2-extended-batteries-test-t3320662 for my testing and pictures
Look here for the Batteries and more http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20160223124746&SearchText=3800mAh+lg+g4
Edit1: A 3500mah would actually fit without a custom bought case http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2x-3...52&btsid=2dd82693-22fc-46b6-8277-cb8017d83bd8

Anyone got a 3500/3800mAh, did you get noticeable difference, worth it?

Hello There,
a friend of mine would also like to extend his battery life, so an answer if the 3500 mAh or 3800 mAh did the job would be great, Thanks!
Are there any alternatives which do not massively extend the phones case?

The 3500mah is the only one that would fit. any higher then a Custom case would be needed. I have one on mine and it's not that thick. I actually bought another case to fit on top of the one that came with my 7700mah battery. just look at my post and see the difference
Sorry for such a late respond but here is the one I purchased http://www.banggood.com/BL-51YF-3500mAh-Li-Polymer-Battery-For-LG-G4-H818-p-987003.html
Saw someone posted the same link a few posts up too. Figured I'd reply to let you all know that it's still working great. Actually had to swap to the original for a little when I was running out and didn't have time to charge. I honestly couldn't wait to get this battery back in. Still getting over 4 hrs screen on time, auto brightness, GPS and WiFi always on, NFC always on, Bluetooth on a good amount of the time and connected. I placed an order for a second one.

It just camein today. Doesn't feel as if it is cheap. Slightly heavier than stock battery. I haav to go through some charging cycles to let the battery settle. Will report back with anything new.
Been using the battery since my last post and well i like it. With stock battety i get no more than 2 hours sot and the new one i can get up to 3.5hrs. An im a heavy user. Using an anker quick charger it takes about the same amount of time to charge both batteries. Although the new battery does look really cheap it doesn't behave like a cheap battery. No over heatings and no shorting out when using too much. I provided some pictures of the battery just in case you want to know what it looks like.
P.S. I do go back and fourth between both batteries when they die out. For the first week of having it i soley charged both batteries inside the phone with the quick charger. Now i have an actual little battery charger which saves me a lot of time between charges.

the OP asked for a slightly higher capacity battery that fit flush with the OEM battery door, that gave better performance without adding any extra bulk and limiting case options. Of course a 7700mAh is going to last longer than a 3000-3800mAh. But that wasn't his question. They're EXTREMELY limited on case options, and take up a LOT more space in your pocket. It's something I wouldn't go for, but a 3800mAh battery that allows the use of all the OEM backs and cases while giving over 25% more juice sounds quite appealing to me

Upgrading the internal battery

I'm curious if anyone on here has tried opening their phone up to swap the battery with an upgraded mAh cell? There are 4,220mAh upgrade batteries all over eBay and I'm really about to pull the trigger on one of them. If it fits and works properly, that is a pretty substantial upgrade in screen on time daily and the difference between me having to charge one to two times in the middle of the day versus being able to go the whole day on the initial charge.

Just cause the listing and label on the battery says a capacity doesn't mean that's true. I wouldn't risk putting in a 3rd party battery that costs $20 (for example) into a $600+ phone

Well I mean that's a given with anything you buy on the internet without seeing it first. As for the price of it, a genuine OEM Pixel 4 battery is $25-$30 so I'm not put off by the $10 difference in price. I also am not going to be relying on the battery if I try it, as in if it turns out to be a dud I would just immediately swap back in the OEM battery and take the little $20 hit but I think its Worth trying with the current risk to benefit comparison and if it ends up being truthful, even if it's not 4220mAh but more than the OEM 3700mAh it would be a win in my book for the price. I have an inline USB meter I can throw between the charger and phone to measure how many milliamp hours the battery actually took.
If you need to upgrade battery to get more screen time each day then you're using your phone too much lol

After my experiences with purchasing piss poor quality aftermarket batteries off Ebay and elsewhere (N6P), I would not recommend it. For the same price you can buy a PD power bank that will fast charge your device anywhere you don't have a charger handy. That and you won't break the back glass. Of course, it would be a totally different story if your battery has somehow degraded tremendously and is now defective. I'd be curious to know what your current battery capacity is using Accubattery. When I bought my P4XL, it was 103%. 6 months later it was 98%. If your battery capacity is still 90-95% I would look at a decent PD power bank and not crack the case open. Even if you pay someone to do the work and get a warranty, your phone will never be the same. Best of luck. :good:
I would think that a battery that's 500mah bigger might not be able to fit in the phone... Chances are that the battery will just be a low quality replacement.

According to accubattery I currently have 12 hours and 25 minutes of screen on time. I dont know about anyone else but that is really good in my book and more than enough. My battery is reading 103% capacity.
I never fast charge my phone unless I forget to charge it overnight and I am leaving the house soon then I throw it on the original charger. And I almost never charge past 80%. I actually use a device called chargie that slow charges my phone overnight. It completely shuts down the charger at 80 allows the phone to discharge to 76 and kicks back on and goes back to 80. My battery only goes up about 10 degrees F while charging. And I have it set to shut off the charger if my battery reaches 110 degrees F. I really plan on keeping this phone for at least 3 years (since I have a family and I have to be a big boy and put food on the table now) No more getting the newest phone for me every year.

Well, considering my phone is used for all traditional purposes (YouTube, social media, email, web browsing) along with the fact that I run my business from my phone, you wouldn't be wrong, but it is essential and serves it's purpose. Any extra sot I can get is a huge plus for me.

Yeah I feel what you're saying, the one reason I haven't already dove right in and tried is the splitting the case open. I have don't it once before on a P4, my last one had some issues and I was able to open it up before sending it back to Google to be RMA'd.
I do in fact have a 10,000mAh PD power bank, I bought it within the first week of upgrading from my P2 to my P4. It works fine and is a great solution but obviously being able to fix the root problem would be better if possible. The power bank is along the lines of a bandaid for the problem but seems to be my only logical choice for now.

12 hours screen on time? What alternate plane of existence do you get that kind of SOT with a P4XL??
Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk
I just opened up mine the other day to replace the rear glass ( had a crack in the corner). Was pretty easy with the guitar pick looking spudger. I did not need any heat to open it. Figured while I was in there might as well replace the battery with a fresh one. Both were purchased from ifixit. The swap out went fairly quick, I just took my time to scrape all the sealant from the edges of the phone for the back glass to have a good seal. Haven't dunked it yet to test if its still waterproof.

No I actually never ended up pulling the trigger on it. To be honest, I'm still really interested in the idea. The only slight bit of anxiety it gives me is with breaking the factory adhesive on the rear panel. Still, I will try it soon. I hate having to dedicate a pocket to my power bank anytime I'm out for more than a couple of hours.

I just opened up mine the other day to replace the rear glass ( had a crack in the corner). Was pretty easy with the guitar pick looking spudger. I did not need any heat to open it. What adhesive did you replace the factory stuff with and where did you get it?

The 3 pull strips for the battery didn't fully come off so there was still some that I could reuse to secure the battery. The rear glass that comes from ifixit has everything (nfc,qi, camera lens gasket etc) already attached to it including the adhesive. They also sell just the adhesive strip by itself if you're just opening it up.
