Hey Guys,
I installed Nova Launcher in the Chinese ICS Rom on my Note but my wallpapers dont scale properly at all! I have the correct resolution on em. In Fact all of them are downloaded from the wallpaper section in XDA for Note. They scale perfectly in TW launcher but not in Nova. Anyone knows why? Any setting I am missing? Please help! I love this launcher!
Hi,
I set wallpaper from stock wallpaper gallery and it scale fine.
I still using the default option in nova and not yet change dpi or any display settings in this ics chinese rom.
Have you change something before?

No, did not change anything!
I have found this with another launcher (ssLauncher). When selecting from the gallery the size went completely wrong.
I selected from another source (Pic Viewer perhaps?) and it was set perfectly.
Try launching the new gallery app from drawer - the one with the red-purplish icon - and setting your homescreen and lockscreen wallpaper from there.
That's the way I'm doing it, and it scales images just fine.
Use Quickpic to set wallpaper. Works flawlessly.....

I am having the exact same problem
By any chance, did you guys install ADW Launcher before installing this ROM?
My wallpaper scaling problems started when I installed ADW......fixed them by installing another rom and doing a full wipe.
Also, you can use quick pic or wallpaper wizardrii from the market (both are free)
Btw,
which link did you use to download the ics leak rom......I downloaded the torrent one but I lose root access ? I'd be grateful if you could give me the link.
Many thanks
I never use adw on my ics rom, just install nova after tw launcher and never have any issue with wallpaper.
I use repacked version from chainfire, its rooted and cwm included. You can download it here (torrent) :
ftp://tor:[email protected]/I9220LP1-N7000-ICS-REPACK.tar.torrent
I have the CF repack too but I am still having problems with scaling. The temp solution I have is setting the wallpaper with Tw launcher and then switching to nova. But still after some app exits the wallpaper scales back to its zoomed state and i do the whole thing again. Dunno what seems to be the problem. love this launcher a lot to give up for this scaling problem

what about go launcher..saw many ICS theme for go launcher
I am also having an issue with 1.00. The top of the wallpaper is cut-off or underneath the notification bar. I am using a Galaxy Nexus.
guys i hope i solved ur issues....read the following
The native screen resolution is 720 x 1280, but native wallpapers are actually 1440 x 1280 because of scrolling. However, Android always forces you to crop your wallpaper to "their dimensions". So, if you are using a static wallpaper setting like Nova, you need to tweak your wallpapers.
Basically, you want to embed a 720 x 1280 wallpaper on a 1440 x 1280 background. Then when you go to set the wallpaper, you stretch the cropping tool to its MAX size and it cuts out the "excess" background leaving only your 720 x 1280 image.

Just flashed my Note with the iMilkas ICS ROM. After that I installed the ROM ToolBox and with that wanted to change the resolution. Entered the density option and changed it from 320 to 240. Rebooted and everything went fine.
The thing now is that the launcher only allows 4x4 icons grid.
So my question is if there is somehow I can change it to 5x8 or something like that?
Have tried the ADW Launcher Pro but it didn't help.

Use apex launcher or nova launcher.

Yesterday I have decided to try ics builds for note. Imilka's CyanogenMod 9 v01 [IMM76D/4.0.4] is my choice.
I didn't have that problem before on stock XXLC1 with dpi set on 260, unfortunately changing dpi on to 260 on ICS makes adw lanuncher displays an empty space with blue line on top. Pictures attached.
Changing dpi back to 320 solves the problem, Is there any other way to hide that "bar" and stay on 260 dpi ?
Bub i guess thats the battery bar!!
Go to the settings where u can change the battery icons and type there this setting should be, I know its in the euphoria controls in ics stunner rom but dont know where it is in in your cm9 rom!!
Give it a shot it should fix your issue!!
If it does hit thanks
SHOT from my LOADED GT-N7000!!
I gave up trying to find solution on adw,
Sorted by installing apex launcher....

The problem I'm having with Apex is it's not using the entire screen when I'm at 240. Do you have this problem?

Grid size's in home screen settings of apex launcher.
I've just changed dpi on to 240 portrait grid set on to 7x6 whole screen in use...

Hi all,
I am still new to custom ROMs. Installed the King Droid custom ROM and am very happy so far. During installation I opted for 320 dpi mode. It looks great! There are a few limitations though, the default launcher will not appear correctly. I have been using Apex and Nova alternatively and both are working almost perfectly.
Any one else on 320 dpi, please share your experience. :cyclops:

320 is the default dpi for Note and TW launcher should not have any issues with it, are you sure you opted for 320? I guess you might have opted 240 dpi as TW launcher does not work properly on 240 dpi. Check your current dpi in build.prop
There is a warning while selecting 240 dpi mode in Kingdroid (Aroma) that TW will not work or something like that, you should have read that carefully , now either change dpi manually by editing build.prop or use custom launchers, and do not use any app to change dpi, you will end in bootloops otherwise.
Hello,
I used rom toolbox to lower LCD density from 240 to 190, as a result I got much more usable space on phone because all the icons are smaller and much more content can fit on screen while everything is still readable.
There can be some bugs that have to be fixed by custom launchers so heres my setup:
-Official ICS V30a rooted rom
-apex launcher
-grid size set to one higher than stock
-rom toolbox pro (free version works as well)
-(UPDATE 1) widgetlocker for lockscreen
Only bug that apears with this setup is on a lockscreen, transparen gradiant is small, visible and ugly but Im gonna fix that with custom lockscreen and update you on that.
Have you ever tried this? Whats your experience?
Heres how to do this:
ROOT REQUIERED!
Get rom toolbox, go to performance, click build.prop, click file icon upper left in top action bar and you will see LCD density. Set it to 190, reboot. Then play arround with launcher to make it look good.
UPDATE 1: I used widgetlocker to configure lockscreen and that completes the setup.
