I bought two Galaxy S's both with Darky's on it, and when I got them, they didn't work. I think the Factory Reset on Darky's ruins the phone someone. I even flashed back to stock and still nothing. I have spent hours trying to figure this out. I blame Darky's.

Try flashing back the stock rom then see if your product code is still set to KOR.
To do this I believe the secret code is
*#272*(your imei)#*
Note: the (your imei) part is your imei number. Don't enter the brackets, just the number.
Change it from this screen to your providers code and that should work. Keep in mind it will factory reset you.
That worked for me

A Complete reset?

Is there a way to completely reset my I9000? Like the way when you turn it on for the first time. I'm scared that i wont be able to update to official Froyo when it comes out, because i've edited the productcode to get JM2. So, is it possible or not? Thanks in advance!
bummmmpppp
You can't return it to the official state if you have flashed it with a different firmware than the orginal. You can always try to find the orginal ROM for the phone. Chek Richthofen's JM1,6 an 7 threads for CSC etc.
You can always edit the registry to match your orginal product codes to receive the official 2.2 update. Ofcourse you need to remember or find the codes your phone had.
Yeah, thats what i thought too... if someone has the original ones for JF3 could you please post 'em here. Thanks.
Can't you just change the product code in the registry when an update comes out? I think when you do that, Kies will just show you the update and after you flashed it the product code of your phone will be change in the one you entered in the registy. Correct me if I'm wrong.

One way to completely kill everything in your phone before you flash it, is to do a 'hard reset'. This wipes everything from the internal SD card, and you lose everything back to what the phone is like in it's original state, with just the ROM only and the SD card formatted.
Enter the following code into your 'dialer' (as if you're calling someone)
*2767*3855#
Then watch it clean the phone. When it reboots, then you can do your flash after following the ROM maker's instructions.
Hope that helps...

i think i broke my phone :( help needed

hi all
i thought i would attempt to flash my samsung s with the new beta froyo update.
i followed this guys tutorial.
( cant link to it sorry its the noobs guide with detailed instructions through kies and odin)
i used the odin approach
i managed to root the phone.
on reboot it asked for an unlock code (o2 uk) so i went on to try and follow the steps about unlocking it. which neither worked all the way through the steps.
on reboot it appears to have signal and in the about section it says i am onnected to the o2 network but when i try to make a call is says "data network not available with an ok button, which when pressed will return you to the ome screen.
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
Almost the same problem,
installed 2.2 update successfully, the phone worked for like 3-4 days very well and after that today i discovered "Emergency calls only"
so the question now is did i bought phone which later was reported stolen? or somehow i broke it?
Anyone have any idea?
hmmm, I have the same problem! In the status menu, the number is shown, but the network, says "unknown"
Hi! I have this exact same problem except I was unlocking my phone using this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906255
But I didn't back up my Efs folder, now my phone is unlocked but when I put a sim card in it I have very little network and when I try to make a call I get " NO DATA NETWORK AVAILABLE".
I've tried everything but I don't know what to do!
I was thinking of two ways to fix it:
1. Reinstall froyo (not quite sure how using the samsung software as my laptop oesn't recognised the phone as a pone)
2. Downgrade to, get unlock code using market app and then upgrade to froyo again.
I know I messed up but now I really need to fix this.
Can someone PLEASE PLEASE help me out.

might need to change the modem in odin i think. just heard about it
did u try restarting the phone... just a wild guess...
I had the same issue before and was puzzled. Its actually a very simple solution:
1. Re-lock your phone, search through xda there is a code you have to enter
2. Unlock your phone
All done! Surprisingly easy
Try the Odin method in block 2 back to Eclair if ok then upgrade to Froyo .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818556
However your non connection might be due to not flashing a firmware with your network settings in which case manual settings of APN .
If your IMEI has changed due to flashing and you did not back up your EFS folder then little hope but do a google / search of XDA as some have reported success .

Emergency calls only
I had a custom rom that was giving that to me too. I think it means that you can access a network different from your sim (because usually emerg calls can be made from any phone I think?).
I'd try and find a rom that is optimized for your carrier or at least a modem file from a stock rom that is for your carrier. You may also need to reselect the APN settings (or enter them for your carrier). Its under settings/wireless and network/Mobile networks/access point names (use the menu button to add an APN).
you could also try re downloading and flashing the rom to make sure that is the issue. Mine said it installed OK but never booted up, redownloaded and reflashed and then it was fine but the install screens looked identical.

Hi! Thank you so much for everyone's replies!
My IMEI isn't changed and someone helped me check my efs files and they are all ok. I'm going to try and reflash froyo through the samsung software to see if the network lock comes back and then try to unlock again. For this I'm going to unroot the phone and follow samsungs' instructions.
I'm afraid to relock the phone as there are reports that say it completely messes everything up!
But I'll keep you guys posted! Wish me luck!!!!
PS. Any other suggestions are more than welcome!
So, a quick update on my situation.
I uninstalled busybox and unrooted my phone using the oneclick root tool.
Did a factory format and, surprise surprise, my phone now works perfectly!
Apart from the fact that it doesn't connect to kies, but that's a whole another issue!
Tank you so much to all of you who answered my cry for help!

[Q] MIUI ROM problem

Hello
I like the MIUI Rom and i tried to installed it.
But i still got some problems, There are none mobile networks available.
Also when i lock the phone and i try to unlock it, sometimes the phone screens stays black. It doesn't respond. When I wait a while it just reboots.
Does anyone knows how this is possible?
Thanks in advance.
BTW sorry for the bad english
For the mobile network bit you probably need to enter the apn manually. Not sure about the lockscreen.

Hello, I installed on my i9000 DBT the MIUI RC2, beautiful, but does not work the radio part. It is still offline, I have a sim TIM Italy. I cut exactly the instructions in the first post, the installation is successful and everything else works. What can I do?
I would add that is not an issue of apn, the signal just does not hook to work without even the voice part.
Check you IMEI code using *#06# I can be 100% sure that it is either shown nothing or is will be shown 0049****
In both cases your EFS Backup has failed, and the best solution is to reflash JP1 and start again.
Follow my guide for installing MIUI and the JP1 files are also there for downloading.
Now that I put the standard JKV the imei is right, I did not check first, now try again with your guide ...
I followed step by step guide, and everything went well. But there is still no network. The IMEI is right, only thing I changed is that by putting the JP1 I used the pit 512, because using the pit803 at the restart instead perform all the usual procedures gave an error. I hope this problem will be solved soon and that they are supported in all languages, including Italian
Of course sometimes the technology is really strange! after a few minutes while I was taking the phone back to JVK, the network was hooked!
Just a pity there is not my language ....

I also had faced similar kind of problem. Flashing Stock Firmware solved the issue but only after i Factory Reset and wiped Cache. By the way did you do Factory Reset after flashing Stock Rom? It seriously Helps.

yes i have done factory reset and also wiped cache but with no success
Try this. Update with DDKQ4 or 6 whichever was the 2nd last version. Then use Kies to update to latest version.
When trying so many things. Try this also.

Try not to play much with your phone. When you're doing something, be sure that you know what you're doing else you'll end up in problems like this. If you are a newbie I recommend that you do not try anything by yourself for time being. Go to a nearby service center. They will fix the problem for you. If the problem isn't solved there, report back here. We'll try to help.

My phone too showed imei as unknown today just because I tried to enable flight mode via power button. The flight process hangs suddenly, then its enabled. I switch to settings->about phone & saw imei & imei sv as unknown. In hurry, I restored my nandroid backup. Luckily when phone boots, imei was there...
I think, we can't resist such issues from happening

After factory reset can't connect to network

Please help people,
I have a s3 mini that I've changed a cracked display. After that I've decided to do a hard reset, when it booted I couldn't connect to my network provider. I've tried changing the ROM, flashing a different radio, now I've flashed back the original firmware I've downloaded from SamMobile. The problem is still here, please help :S
Probably a hardware problem....
Have you tried to set manually APN settings?
If it's unlocked from network try another sim card, why factory reset?, no more panic rom flashes, sensible thought process ?
