I believe CM7 you can do this with.

Hi everyone,
I know you can get a live wallpaper called 'many' for the Samsung Galaxy S, which shows the music being visualized and the animation framerate and look of the visualization is quite nice. However, when I'm in the stock music player, the visualization in that seems quite 'laggy'. Is there any way I can change the stock player's visualization, or, increase the framerate so that it doesn't look to 'laggy'?
If anyone could help me with this I'd be really grateful Thanks in Advance
No doubt... I'm getting a little tired of watching my EQ bars jumping up and down on my Captivate. I've been searching around for some other kind of stock music player visualization package or something... I can tap it and it shows a mirrored image... I'm running Froyo.UCJI6 (initial leaked version), Kernel 2.6.32.9. Any ideas or suggestions would be great! I really don't want to run an application on top of the music player just to see some kind of visualization so a mod would be great.
My "Media Screen"
Get LauncherPro (for the icons on the right...the dock) <- Not necessary, but cool
Put the Pandora widget on the top row (to control Pandora streaming music from the screen)
Put the Music Player Pro widget on the bottom (to control local SD card music)
Set the wallpaper to the "Live" wallpaper called "Spectrum"
Use a Clingo device to mount on your desk (I have one) or in your car (got one of those too)
Boo-yah!
If you want pics of the car and home mountings (they look cool), let me know.
PowerAMP is a fairly new music player on the Market and is hands down the best that I've ever used (especially the equalizer!) A sleek looking theme would make this the ultimate music player though. This app already has a built in theme manager. The widget and lock screen features are also very impressive and have some decent theming potential.
So I'm looking for a simplistic music control app for my lock screen or an app which lets you customize the look of the (play, next, previous) buttons. Any suggestions and help will be gladly appreciated.
I'm in the middle of porting the lockscreen mod which enables the player on the lockscreen. Its in alpha stage now, but the three lock screens that work two have music controls. I can let you flash where its at so far.

Pure music Widget from the Market will give you a nice, simplistic set of music control widgets which can then be skinned. It's capable of being used with various Android music apps, so check the details of it in the Market to see if it'll work with your music app of choice.
It does not have the ability to natively put music controls on the lockscreen. Usually for that, you have to either use a music app that can do it (like PowerAMP or PlayerPro) or you can use another app called WidgetLocker that will enable you to put whatever widgets you want onto the replacement lockscreen that WidgetLocker creates on your phone.

I only need the lock screen mod not the whole cm7 mod. I'm happy with simple minimal gingerbread ui but I think that they really drop the ball without this non-music lock screen control feature. Having to unlock phone just to more forward a track or tap music widget just to move back a track is a real pain.

I have installed MIDNOTE 2.0 ICS ROM. It is fully rooted with r/w permissions.
It is working very well as my daily rom and super smooth with Nova Launcher.
I'm wondering if anyone can help with a few questions?
1. I have removed Swype with Root Explorer and flashed latest Swype with Dragon Voice support (working very well). I have also installed ics keyboard. My question is can I remove the "SamsungChineseIME.apk" or does it do do more than keyboard?
2. As it doesn't come with Video Player I installed previous version from Titainum Backup but forces close so I removed. What is the best Video app that will play all the formats the GB Samsung Video apk did?
3. Not a fan of the installed lockscreen clock. How can I change to a different clock on lock screen? I realise I could probably do it with WidgetLocker but heard its fc on most ics roms.
Thanks for your help
Yes you can remove it.
BS Player.
Widget locker works fine on every ICS rom I have used.

Thanks that should clean things up a bit.
I'll give BS Player and Widget Locker a go too.
Though is there a way to change the clock through settings on ics? You can remove it but can you change the style?
1) Yes you can
2) I use MX player it's quite good, and you can get ride of the black banding
3) I think widget locker will work..

I have a working ICS from on my captivate (not sure which I can send screenshots) with built in google music lock screen controls. Problem is that while it shows the album art, it replaces my wallpaper with plain black and it looks really terrible. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to disable these lock screen controls. Thanks
You can try checking out the settings within the music application, but I'm pretty sure that's just the way it is.
Try out some other music applications. I use Poweramp which is a paid app, but there are some good free customizable ones.
