[Q] Identification needed... - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys, are you able to tell me if this is a rooted tab? It is able to go into cwm but when we try installing titanium backup it states that the tab is not rooted. Advise needed, thank you.

By the way, if you are wondering why I ask this, this version was downloaded by Samsung service centre and we are able to access CWN from boot hence I am abit lost as I remember we are only able to access cwn once you root the device.

No one can help on this?

It says its rooted, but you need to download Superuser app so titanium can get root permissions.
Don't forget this is a world forum and sometimes we are in different time zones.

Thanks alot. Yeah, I understand, but it is due to this that we are able to share our experiences and expertise across the globe

Exact same post within the last few days try reading that for an answer .
jje .

so back in 2012 i rooted my phone for the first time..

And now im wondering if my phone needs a upgrade.
Problem is that i cant remember wich guide i used when i flashed my Note and the more i read the more confused i get.
Specially after reading about kernels that are unsafe regaring CWM.zip. I dont know if this is what i used on my phone so i though i ask here, hoping for a answer.
If someone would be so kind to guide me in the right direction i would be very happy :laugh:
I took some screens but i cant seem to be able to post them due to low post count
edit: uploaded them to a album on my profile

If you use already a 4.1.2 JB Rom use a PhilZ Kernel for rooting. A lot of sticky threads also available.

Root Explorer not working after 7.0 update

I haven't been rooted for a while (blasphemy around here, I know) and I got tired of waiting for the 7.0 update so I did the google.com/android/beta thing and now I'm running 7.0 NBD90Z. This is what I see when I try to use Root Explorer:

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Before you remind me that I am not rooted -- it has still been working as a normal file manager, even though I haven't been rooted... it just hasn't allowed me access to system directories that need root access (obviously)... so I've been able to still work with my files. But now it's not even letting me do that. I have posted over on Reddit (r/Nexus6) and emailed the developer. Just throwing this out in case anyone else knows of a solution for this.
I love this app. I have been using it for years. Please help
Actually I am a colossal idiot. Mark this solved. If anyone else has this problem...

Help with a special case Rooting Chinese Lenovo S820i

Hello and thank you for reading
The case is this, i have a Chinese Lenovo S820i, yes with the "i" i searched for it on internet and it doesn't appear or show up even on google, so i have tried all the tutorials for the S820 without success, in the MTK Droid i got this so maybe it can be more clear for you the readers:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you can see it shows that the hardware is MT6572 and says the MT6592 is fake, i have tried to install recovery for MT6572 without success, and tried to use the available things that are mostly for MT6592 without success again, couldn't root or install from CWM recovery, can't install any other recovery, and no rooting way has worked for me, any ideas? am i doing something wrong?
thank you for everything anyway, ill be here for any possible help and figure this, my main objective is:
JUST INSTALL A CLEAN ROM WITHOUT ALL THE CHINESE BULLCRAP THAT EVEN DOWNLOADS ADS AND VIRUS AND ENJOY THE PHONE IN PEACE.
hehe thank you all.

Is it possible to update my android version to 10 or higher without wiping/ erasing data?

I need to update my android version and would like to do it without losing any data ( including sms )
To give extra information that might assist people in troubleshooting / helping me I have taken 2 screenshots that I hope will help.
Also I think it might be because my device maybe is rooted, I have downloaded an app years ago called youtube vanced /vanced manager which I think roots your phone.
I don't know other information I can add... But please let me know if there is anything I should.
thank you so much in advance to anyone trying to help, I really appreciate it!
