Thanks!

Found this:
480 800 30
p 1 0 part0
p 0 0 part1
'480' is the width of the animation
'800' is the height of the animation
'30' is the desired fps of the animation
'p' defines a animation part
'1' how many times this animation part loops
'0' defines a pause (max 10)
'part0' is the folder name where the animation images are
'p' defines another animation part
'0' defines that it loops forever (until android starts)
'0' defines a pause
'part1' is the folder for the second animation part.

No problem, xda is all about spreading the word and helping each other. I did not find your tutorial until I had spent hours figuring out what I had done wrong - all alone. Hopefully, the next guy will not have the same problem as I did. (compression method "store")
That is a cool program that you made, I will definitely get it tonight when I get home. I plan on pushing out more liquid themed boot animations... if there is a demand
So, what did you think about my first attempt?

WOW, I made the blue one yesterday. Just have not uploaded it yet
I will upload it once it is photoshopped and I get the images to the proper size (file size).
I will also upload one of the apple logo falling straight down and bursting into red on the floor to reveal the Android logo.

My friend, I appreciate your help. but that zip didn't work... there was a plain blank screen. anyways I am tired of that one now. will try to make another one.I'll be here in touch buddy. your bootscreens are awesome. tell me one thing, is that necessary to make the bit depth as 8-bit?

No, that just makes the file size smaller. Which makes it run better. Your images looked fine at 8bit though. No need to be any higher.
I wonder what I did to make the zip not work. I did it from my work computer (shhh) so I probably screwed something up.

NAND BOOT IS RECOMMENDED BY 4 OUT OF 5 DENTISTS AND THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOC.
FOR NAND (PREFERRED USE!!!)
(sorry guys just trying to make it dummy proof)
1. download NANDKIT
2. backup! then, clear whatever "android" stuff you have from sdcard(i dont want it to get caught up in the install)especially your android folder
3. extract
4. copy the android folder from the zip file to the root of your scard
5. use this tattoo.user.conf instead of the one in the kit (replace this with the other one in the conf folder)
6. downoad these blankfiles and put them in the android folder
7. flash DZO's latest 240x320 nbh from HERE
then let it reboot and it should load android onto the nand!
disregard{
7. when it reboots hit voldn to enter installer then hit end to put "data on NAND" and end to put "sys on NAND"
8. hit voldn to upgrade
......
8. hit end to continue unless you want to backup data.img
9. hit voldn to use data.img}
FOR SDCARD (MAY RUN A BIT SLOWER)
1. download the SDCARDKIT
2. backup clear whatever android stuff you have from sdcard(i dont wand it to get caught up in the install)especially your android folder(if you have one)
3. extract
4. (Because im a tard lol) open default.txt and edit cmd line to say
Code:
set cmdline "ppp.nostart=0 mddi.width=240 mddi.height=320 lcd.density=120 msm_sdcc.msmsdcc_fmax=32000000 pm.sleep_mode=0 board-htcvogue.panel_type=1 no_console_suspend"
5. copy android folder to the ROOT of your sdcard
6. use this tattoo.user.conf instead of the one in the kit (replace this with the other one in the conf folder)
7. run haret, then hit run to launch android
Media folder
if you dont already have one extract this to the ROOT of your scard
Media
Most of ALL, ENJOY!
HOLY CRAP!!!
I LOVED SENSE HERO
I hope im definitely going to enjoy this aswell!!!.
Just to be sure, there is no need to partition your SD card other than the whole thing goes to FAT32, right?
Also, your installer didn't work quite the way you said it would. The only option to put something to NAND I got was the data partition. The system clearly didn't make it to NAND because when I rebooted it went back into the donut build I had. Couldn't we just as easily put the empty files on the SD (datafstonand and systemfstonand) and get the same result?
Does this have your 64mb compcache presetup?
Good job man! told you that you could do it
Small update. Got everything to NAND by using the blank file method. Also, I had to DELETE EVERYTHING from the SD card besides the conf folder as the phone was loading the system directly from there. Things are much faster now However, I'm still getting the "loading" animation whenever I come back out of an app (marketplace for instance). The build is wicked fast compared to the SD card though.

One question, one comment:
To get the themed home screen, do you select home instead of sense?
In the sdcard pack, the default.txt has the wrong values.

The Root File Explorer Method
This is, by a wide margin, the simplest method and in no way requires a computer. You can download the bootscreen directly to your phone and move it where you need it all on-device.
1. Install The App
Download and install one of the above mentioned root file explorers (Root Explorer, SU File Manager, ES File Explorer) or any other of your choosing. It just has to get root access.
2. Download your boot animation.
I mean...yeah. That's the point, right?
3. Backup (OPTIONAL)
You can either copy the original bootscreen and paste it on your sdcard/computer, or you can rename it bootanimation.bak and leave it in the original directory for safe keeping.
4. Copy/move
Copy the bootanimation.zip to /system/media
5. Change attribute to Rw-r-r
6. Reboot. Enjoy.

2. Import your movie file and put it in your sequence
3. Now you can edit, enhance color, put any text, added same effects, or what ever you wanted to dos
4. Don, t make your sequence too long. For me maximum 5seconds
5. Go to add to render queu
6. Choose jpg/png sequence, if png make sure it's 8 or 16 bit. Choose 15 fps to make your filemore light in size
7. Then its time to create your bootanimation files...

[BOOTANIMATION] CyanogenMod 10 (MULTI-RES-PHONE/TABLET)-[LIGHT/AMOLED BLACK VERSIONS)

Hello community,
CyanogenMod 10 or CMX - how you like. It's here, it's fast and it needs a bootanimation.
Here it is. Unofficial CM10 (CMX) bootanimation for XHDPI/HDPI/MDPI and tablet resolutions - 1280x800/1024x600.
There are slight differences between phone and tablet versions, nothing big tho.
Phone versions clocked to 25 frames per second.
Tablet versions clocked to 30 frames per second.
Animation was done in After Effects. All used colors are from official Google Android ICS pallet.
Enjoy.

Animation is clocked at 25 frames per second, so are the previews. Most phones/roms can't really generate this fluid bootanimation while the phone boots.
On my SGS CM9 it looks quite nice, tho it's not real 25fps.

Thank You.
I know what you mean, and you're right. It is by fact that system is loading files (probably) and animation can't really reach it's top fps for most of the time, tho if you look at the end (where the loop starts) you can see that the animation is going as fast as it should be - 25fps.
looks sweet and works like a charm. but would you be so kind and make a version in 480 x 854 resolution ? thanks in advance

Rename to bootanimation.zip and copy with Root Explorer (the path varies according to ROM and device). Don't forget to give proper permissions.

Nice job, but would it be possible to change the background and CID to this one? I tried to modify it myself, but my little knowledge of graphics design did not serve me well.
480x800 Would be preferred!
EDIT: Here's my attempt at fitting this onto the last image. Because I don't have the template files I don't know how to to change the white background and also how to add those sparkles.

would ext4 help (lagfix) I know you guys are stuck on yaffs lol.. idk my phone always felt quicker on ext4.
In terms of the bootanimation loading.
I will post tablet versions in like 12h. Probably animation will be set to 30fps.
What do you guys think? Should I drop the "CMX", place it somewhere else, or maybe show it for just a second?

Probably not. It's not a problem with the loading itself, it's a problem with the framerate during the first half of the loading process. Because the hardware acceleration drivers are not loaded, the framerate is low, and the graphics appear slow and stuttery.

I think it would be best if the CMX disappears when the Cyanogen Mod 10 text shows up.

what do you mean by making the boot animation? how i created each image to make an animation (that was a very long process)
or how i created the actual zip and made it work?
what i do is as follows:
i use GIMP (image editor) and I use python scripts to automate some of the image making
i create each frame singularly and then copy the frame into a different image file (with lots of layers)
I then use another python script to number each 'frame' layer from 250(the max) to 0
then another python script which exports each layer as a different png based on its layer name
finally i use the boot animation factory software to make the final zip
Hope it helps
Would be really great if someone could make a flashable zip out of it - paying nearly 2$ for an app that simply allows you to install a animation at bootup which shows for 2-3 seconds is far too much. At least for my taste.
I will make one soon

Splash Screens

This is for Verizon variant devices. I will update the Splash_EmptyTemplate.zip android.info.txt (needed to show the correct OS in Download Mode) along with the Unlocked hTC 10 Splash I've included below, as we get new OTAs.
***DISCLAIMER - FLASH AT OWN RISK - IF THIS BREAKS YOUR PHONE, DON'T BLAME ME***
Requirements:
S-OFF and Bootloader unlocked/locked is fine for HTC 10 though
ADB Installed
Instructions:
- Download Splash Flasher v1.0
- Extract the downloaded SplashFlasher_1.0.zip
- Find the image you wish to use, and resize it to 1440 width, 2560 height
- Open the Splash Flasher folder and where it says "place-image-here" place your correctly sized image
- Double-Click the CLICK-HERE.bat and press any key
- You will see the option to convert .png .jpg and .bmp images (options 2, 3, 4)
- Whatever format your image is, is the one you choose (you can have images for all 3 formats in the "place-image-here" folder but no more than one of each format)
- Once you choose 2, 3, or 4 to convert the image, open "place-image-here" folder and you will now see the new file: "custom.img"
- Rename the custom.img to splash1.nb0 (yes, change the extension from .img to .nb0)
- Download this Splash Empty Template - 1.82x
Splash Empty Template - 2.41x I created
- Place the splash1.nb0 file you created into my Splash_EmptyTemplate.zip and now you are on your way to enjoying your new splash screen
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Code:
fastboot flash zip NameOfSplash.zip
Code:
fastboot reboot
I have created a Splash Screen based off the Unlocked hTC 10 Variant. (See attached image)
Download -1.82x
If you have a Splash you wish to share, please do. Post #4 is an ideal layout to follow.

You can download the zip file here.

Whatever floats your boat bro.. :silly:
I'll update this post and create the Splash... Not everyone is able to get to a PC, or may not be able to create the .zip - for whatever reason, so when images are posted by users it'd be nice to give them the option to download and flash the Splash.
EDIT:
You can download the .zip here
With nearly 150 views in 1 day, I'm surprised more aren't as happy about this as I am.
I have used this splash screen since my Evo3D (credits to the original creator, it's been so long, I don't remember). I resized it for my M8, and again for my hTC 10. Screenshot & splash1.nb0 attached for anyone interested.
If anyone knows...when I do a normal reboot, my custom splash greets me as expected. But, if I reboot to recovery or download mode (via APM, ADB, or bootloader menu) I get a splash screen with a silver hTC on a black background. Is this a secondary splash? On my other phones, I'm pretty sure I always got PennyWise no matter how I rebooted.

Editing the splash screen has always been a fun start for me to making the device yours once you get S-OFF. I love being able to play around and customize to when I feel like it. And, yea that white is just terrible, why they try to blind us is beyond me. The unlocked variant gets black.
