[Q] help: Platinumtel Zio img needed - Kyocera Zio M6000

Hi, I have Zio on Platinumtel wireless, a prepaid provider on sprint network. two days ago, when I tried to update firmware to android 2.2 OTA, I got stuck at boot loop. I found cricket and sprint fix method but no Platinumtel. Can anyone kindly provide a system/boot/recovery img of Platinumtel Zio? Thanks a lot.

Some quick Googling tells me that the custom builds (including KDDI) may be all using the same build:
Zio PLS-8600(PLS/KDDI) 2.2 OS
I have the recent image dumps from my phone (KDDI) but can't guarantee they'll work as haven't tested.

I would have a try. Could you please upload the KDDI system/boot/recovery img to somewhere? Thanks.

Sent by PM. Good luck!

system.img too big?
Hi, garwynn, Thanks for the files, but the system.img is too big, 130M, I could load the sprint system.img which was 107M. Anyone know how to solve this? Thanks.

Sprint may be compatible (same phone) but OTOH may not.
Does anyone know which img contains Sprint ID and other carrier-specific data? Suspect it's in system but as a probably not the best resource out there.

from PLS-8600 source code to ROM?
There is source code at www dot kyocera-wireless dot com/support/developers.htm
Zio PLS-8600(PLS/KDDI) 2.1 OS PLS8600_Eclair_kernel_code.zip (108 MB)
I am a noob, can anyone please help create a img or rom based on the code? Or can anyone please give a tutorial how to create stock img or rom based on this source code? Thanks a lot.(both 2.1 or 2.2 is fine)

Sprint/PTel ROM similarities....
I am wondering if anyone has flashed their PTel ZIO with the OpenZIO ROM, and what, if any, was the outcome? Noob here too....bump for previous poster for additional ROM development.....

Help needed with ROM

Hello everyone. Since Motorola won't release an update for my country and my device is getting super unstable, I'll probably flash the ROM from Telus on it in the following days. My intention with this topic is to ask more experienced people if it's possible to copy the brazilian portuguese suport from my ROM to the Telus ROM. If possible, could someone point me out the instructions? I also would like to know if you guys have any guides that shows how to clean motorola's bloatware.
Thanks!

[Q] Vetting stock firmware

Where do you guys get your stock firmware from? Reverting to Stock in ios was a non-issue as Apple is always happy to get you back in its walled garden. With Android it seems a little harder and I can't seem to find official (signed) Motorola stock firmware. Furthermore, updating using the Motorola OTA service won't work until I reflash stock recovery. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks

no motorola does not publish these files except a few DEV files for Moto X
these are all leaked , but i have downloaded several and made Easy Installer(s) for them
see my signature - if your boot loader is unlocked you can flash these (i.e downgrade) upgrades can be done locked - I only have .14 DE available ( now making a .23) but its a 2hr download
heres your full firmware - sorry its a SLOW download - not under my control

Thanks. Yeah I couldn't find any official files or even a md5 /sh1 signature. That would be enough to authenticate the validity of the images. Motorola's website has a few images for Droid and X models as you mentioned but none for the G.
Back in my ios days I felt comfortable installing firmware originating from a few select groups of developers who were well known in the community and there seemed to be a good system in place for peer reviewing their code. Is there such a thing in the Android Community? I mean there's TeamWin, Cyanogen and the likes for mods, but for Stock people just install random files without knowing what's on it?

US Cellular XT1093 6.0?

I have a rooted TWRP US Celluar Moto X2 (XT1093), I am trying to find out if there is a 6.0 or 6.0.1 ROM that I can run on this phone?
I managed to rework one of the stock ROMs - Here's a link to the Team USC site where I have it posted:
http://teamuscellular.com/Forum/topic/8950-rom-stock-60-mm-moto-x-2014-flashable/
While I hate to link offsite, you will probably get a little better feedback for a US Cellular based phone there.

Advice on installing Custom Rom on SM-G900A & SM-G900V

Hi all,
Im new to this website but not new to installing customs ROM's on phones. Its been a while but i did it years ago on my S3. Also, I know there are probably threads out there already for this so if this is just a redundant question please forward me to the right place b/c i haven't been able to find a clear answer on my own.
So here is my situation. I have a SM-G900A that I requested and unlock code from AT&T for and is now "unlocked" and I am running android 6.0.1. My girlfriend has a SM-G900V that is supposedly been unlocked by verizon and i moved over to my AT&T account and its working fine (with the exception of lack of LTE data). To my understanding it is not possible to flash a custom ROM on either of these if they are on anything post android 5.0 release. Is this true? I have not been able to find any custom ROM build that say they are made for these models and TWRP doesnt have a version specific to these either.
Has anyone successfully put customer ROM's/bootloaders on either of these 2 devices? I have really only used Cyanogenmod in the past and was very happy with it. But all i have seen is that people say that these 2 models are SOL if they have android v.6 on them.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Check the link below, the first 4 posts or so have the information on downgrading and rooting. I don't know about the Verizon version, the AT&T version bootloader is completely locked down so we can not flash a custom recovery like twrp. Flashfire works like a charm though. The custom roms are limited and pretty much lollipop variants. There is currently no root or custom Rom for marshmallow.

flashfire gives the error "Please update SuperSU to v.2.40 or newer" which I already have. I tried the older ones 1st and it gives the same error. I am not sure what to think about it except I got it to work before with the exact same files from what I recall. is there another proceedure perhaps?

Where is a trusted or official source for the KDZ files, latest vers? MD5 hashes?

Sorry for creating a thread that my be redundant, but I see lots of guides for crossflashing etc, but non with links to the kdz files in question. Are they available from LG? What's the latest version for US unlocked that I could use to crossflash a Sprint unlocked v40? The Android 10 version will likely not be availbe for a while, right?
Thanks all!
This is where I got mine: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmv405qa-firmwares/
