How to delete locked bookmarks - Motorola Droid 3

Install "Bookmark Sort & Backup" from the market. Backup them up, restore them, open the browser and delete.
Might not have to go through all this they can be deleted in the app but I can't test it.

I'll have to try this out. This was one of the reasons I moved to Dolphin Browser. But I like Dolphin so much I may not go back.

Fantastic! You can easily delete the locked bookmarks within the app. Just long press any bookmark and choose "Delete Bookmark". No backup or restore necessary!!

thanks !!!

thanks man, can't wait to try that

Installed and deleted locked bookmarks. Spectacular!
Now only if there was an app like this for locked applications!

THANK YOU! Emphasis on the caps.

Very helpful! If I had known I didn't need root to do this, I would have done it a long time ago.
Thanks!

Thank you! I've been wanting to get rid of these things since day 1 with my droid3

Thanks
Worked perfect on my bionic

Browser bookmarks

I still don't understand how or if possible to erase all my bookmarks in the web browser at one time. While in web browser I press Menu, Bookmarks, long press one and then delete bookmark. But to do that 80+ times, oh h**l no. Can someone please school me on a solution that won't delete anything else but the bookmarks, please? (I tried the search and like always all the results had NOTHING to do with what I searched, (I'm not saying, I'm just saying)
Now I'm so broke i can't even pay attention!
Settings - applications -manage applications - all - browser - erase data

Last time I tried that, it cleared all kinds of stuff. I had to re-login to all the sites I visit, it cleared files I downloaded, safesearch filter, all kinds of bad. I just wana get rid of the bookmarks and that's all. Any other solutions?
Now I'm so broke i can't even pay attention!
Not that I'm aware of. Try to find where your bookmark files are stored and delete them with Root Explorer, maybe?
Sent from my Zio using XDA App
Root Explorer? Sounds like something that'll void my warranty. Id love to try the whole "root" thing to see if its any better than stock but Im too a-scared to ask someone/anyone to walk me thru it (or shoot me a link to the steps n procedures) cause I'm sure ill get smashed. Oh yeah, anyways, I guess ill just delete my bookmarks one by one in 5min shifts for about an hour till they're gone. But thanks for ur time.

Warranty shmarranty!
As long as you don't break your screen or run it over you can fix any OS issues from the information here on XDA.

Yeah. Just don't let anyone from cricKet see your phone. Haha. and if you break your screen, you can still just fastboot flash stock before turning it in (or break it to where they won't be able to tell either way).

I like showing my phone off to the cricket representatives... I already have a red water mark on the back from being out in the rain.
I will actually be going back in the store without flashing back to stock to get a new account with them within the month.

I know. Schooling cricKet reps is so fun. XD I even flashed CM7 to one of their Ascends. Almost earned me a job.

Att address book

Can someone copy the Att address book apk and post it? I uninstalled with ti backup and did not back it up. Now my contacts wont work.

LOL!! I did the same thing I would also appreciate that file if some can get it up loaded that would be so sweet

Are you getting the AAB Initializing... when going into contacts? That's what I'm getting
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA App
lol! Okay, first why would you uninstall the contact app that the other contact apps are going to be based off?
Second if someone can tell me how to find and share the apk file, I'll be more than happy to. I have the myappsharer app and that seems to be the one app that it won't let me share.
I think this is the APP that your looking for, let me know if it's not.

BETTER CONTACTS APP!!!
search market for "contapps" has a logo of a penguin...
i love this contact app and when you go to manage a contact it doesnt divert you to the installed contact app manager!!!
hey chrismcgraw... could you do me a favor and make a backup and post a copy of the "get 3d games" app link.. i heard it gives you 7 free games and i already deleted it cause i thaought it was bloatware... lol
thanks
Thanks
Thanks for the file...its the correct one, with the correct name, despite getting it in the right place, something is still missing. I tried an alternate Contacts.apk to no avail either.
Maybe if someone can post a list of the files found in /system/app I can pin-point what's missing...isn't there an odex file that goes with it?
I installed go contacts from the market and now my contacts show up in there so I'm back in business yeah buddy

I was going to say the same thing as you dude. LOL!
i do the same thing and regretting...Here's an idea:backup the contacts apk&odex in p920 by using system app remover to restore the backup in p925?
Has anyone been able to get the AT&T Address Book re-installed? I've tried both of the .apk files that were in this thread but no dice. "Application failed to install." Currently using a replacement contact app but that isn't really ideal. Any ideas?
System apps are always hard to reinstall on official rom...I called AT&T and they helped me with 2 hours and no result...the only thing we can do is waiting for the new rom or return it(if you buy it within 30 days and this is what i want to do)
This is how you do, install root explorer , copy the At&t....apk to system, (app) folder then restart.

I tried, but this way doesn't work. SAR has busybox, maybe it's a chance...

[Q] how to delete bloatware and free up my internal memory

the post says it all. i am a noob when it comes to bionic and want to free up my memory (internal) what would be the EASIEST way to accomplish this?directions please with sugar on top.
Root Explorer... navigate to /system/app.
I always make a folder on my SD like "SystemApps" then I move what I don't want out to that folder as opposed to just deleting them, just in case I find out something is acting weird or needed.
"Some" of the bloat can be uninstalled via the built in App Manager also.

This really should not be in the development section. Until we have a way to back everything up via recovery the only way you can do anything like that is through rooting and using Titanium backup. You can either freeze or uninstall any app. I would not uninstall anything without backing it up first. All I have done is freeze some bloatware so I do not have to see it in the app list. You can really f up your phone if you remove the wrongs stuff. A there is a list somewhere of which apps you can freeze without issues.

THIS!!!
I am no where near an expert as some of the Devs in these forums, but I went through a lot of ROMs on my old Eris. Every time, though, I had a Nand backup to go to if/when I screwed up.
Now that I have a nice, new, shiny Bionic I will not root until there is an SBF to allow a return to stock. Yep, people like P3Droid, and others, have successfully rooted and debloated. All it takes, though, is some little glitch, power spike or otherwise, to screw things up. Actually, reading a few forums there are more than a few that have already bricked or really hamstrung their $600 phone by just rooting and borking around trying to debloat.
Patience people. Within 2, 3, 4 weeks I'm sure one of our Dev wizards will have a failsafe method ... WITH BACKUP RESTORE CAPABILITIES.
I just group up my apps to eliminate viewing the bloat. My phone is fine. Fools rush in, for sure.
On a side note: I've seen a couple people mention on other forums that they have bricked their phones and committed fraud by returning their smoldering remnants back to Verizon. Slackers.

What did you use to back up your bionic?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
I'm guessing Titanium Backup. But here's my question.... Is it safer to 'freeze' bloatware instead of moving it into a new folder on your SD card?
As long as you don't delete it when you move it then either option is good from my experience worth moto phones
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
Ok I have done both renamed bloat files .bak and moved them into their own folder in my sdcard , my question is how do I free up internal memory? When I do either of those sure it removes then from my application drawer but it doesn't free up any memory?

You may have uninstalled the Yahoo contacts. You can find a System App dump from here: http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/tbh-discussion-forum/9081-droid-bionic-system-dumps-partial.html
Hope this helps

It's always safer to freeze the bloatware. This way if your phone starts to act up, all you have to do is defrost whatever you froze.
That did the trick thanks Idk why Yahoo is tired to that process.

I deleted a bunch of bloat ware but it doesn't say that I cleared up any internal memory anybody know why?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
I know this is opinionated, but what apps are bloatware? Let's say I have all the apps I want to use already on a backup and I am starting the Bionic clean. What can I uninstall or move that won't mess up the phone?
There is a list of files ok and not ok to delete at androicentral.com check it out great source.

We've also compiled a list over at AF for your perusal. Messenger13 has added his own commentary as to what he did and did not remove and why.

Network Backup App

I was wondering if anybody has seen or wanted to build an app that would allow you to do system backup, and allow individual folders to be selected, then transfer them to ftp/sftp address on a schedulable time. Maybe even after it was done, send an email/alert that it was successful/failed.
I looked and there was really nothing around like this...
I wish I could program, make a few bucks off it!

What is safe to remove from the phone?

This will be the first time I've ever used Titanium because usually I just flash a new ROM. So what apps are safe to completely remove and what should I freeze? Thanks in advance for the help.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda app-developers app
I'd like to know this as well. I want to remove as much bloat/crap as possible.
For a non-AT&T specific list you can check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470862
A good start is anything that says "AT&T" anything lol.
Before removing it, freeze it with TB top make sure it won't cause any issues

Yeah i might have already gone too far, because I had 2 FC's on touchwiz home ..
one of them caused me to be unable to unlock the phone, and i almost had to pull the battery.
i have since cleared TWHome data, and am hoping that fixes it.
I deleted a lot of crap. like 30 apps.
I must say boy do i have a lot of ram back! Like 853mb in use after i hit clear!
