Best stable Froyo firmware for indian SGSL 9003 - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

can u tell me wch is most stable indian firmware...
Im getting camera hang in my DDKC1 and XXKPE firmware..i donoo wat to do
plz help

I used to use DDKB2, and it recently got updated to DDKF1, both are quite stable!
Haven't had experience with any other Indian firmwares.
DDKB2 is here and DDKF1 is here.
Note that DDKF1 is an update to DDKB2 (INU). The disadvantage of the update (DDKF1) is that there is no compatible CWM from Skin1980 for it (yet).

Did you flash twice. Its a must. Follow the instructions properly and xxkpe works very well.

Wave 2, 8530, Bada 1.2, DDKA1

Xxkb3 & xxkpe
The Best Stable Froyo version will be XXKB3,
but if you flash it right, the Gingerbread version XXKPE will be stable enough, actually better than any Prior version of Android.

Agreed with the above poster, xxkb3 is the best froyo for any user, but the newer GB is way better than froyo IMHO!

XXKB3 is the most stable one which I have seen so far. It also fixes the GPS issue which is there in XXKB2

[Q] Should i put new ginger bread rom XWJVB

Hi every one
i just need a answer that i am using galaxy s froyo 2.2 Build Number FRF91.372 rooted device i want to put GINGER BREAD ROM XWJVB on my mobile should i do so or it can brick my mobile plz help me
thanx in advance
first of all I don't know what build is that frf , but in my opinion don't update to JVB . It has a huge battery drain , even CM7 has better , and after 1 month since I ran JVB , I started to have fc's , and I reverted to froyo bootloader and installed CM7 , but be carefull , CM7 is beta and has bugs , even if is almost a pure AOSP experience .

Whether you should or not is really up to you. Here's a link to the way I did it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037584
Read the first post, have a look at the guide, read it several times, make sure you understand it all first, no point in trying it if you're not confident.
Also JVH has just been released, so it might be worth waiting to see what people think of it, if it has less bugs, etc,

hi to all some questions regarding the tab....

Just got the 16GB Tab a few days ago...
Well after scouring the forums for all sorts of info, the amount of research done on the Tab by you people is amazing ........ and still searching for more info day by day....
I wish to know which version of gingerbread is the "most stable one" ??
The asian ones which have been recently released ? Or the latest european firmware ?
Because I wish to run a stock samsung's own GB version before straightaway going in for a custom ROM like Overcome...
Also if I want the closest stock ROM based experience should I go for -
[ROM/Kernel][GSM][Android 2.3.3] ROM based DXJPE (build 23 June) by DiP7 ???
ANother newbish question will be -
If I flash a ROM and install the provided kernel with it ? Do I need to also flash a new modem file via ODIN ? or the original file stays there ?
And do I need OCLF after installing a stock/custom GB based ROM just for some speed improvements and/or does the EXT2 file system conversion give boost ? (because OCLF in my Galaxy S SL i9003 really did make overall performance better) Also the lagfix to be applied is V1+ right ? or do I also go for applying V2 lagfix in OCLF?
Thanks for reading all this and I would love to hear your ideas over these questions ....
No , no need to for the modem file after flashing rom.
I see you are in India ( me too ) so Asian rom will be better .
No need of lagfix and oc overcome is very smooth .
P.S :If you flash Asian GB please tell whether it contains Indian languages .
A good stock GB rom choice is JQ1 because it has the proper, safe bootloaders, and can be easily rooted using the Chainfire CF-Root v3.3 kernel.
From there you can go in any direction.

Thanks a lot... I'll go with JQ1 for now... then overcome GB version and then probably some asian firmware...

[Q] Which rom should i use?

What rom is best and most stable?
JVT stock rom with the semaphore kernel.
or wait for the F1 Innovation ROM Version 15 which is gonna be released tomorrow:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058814
thanks for the reply ill wait for the f1 and see
ICS 4.0.3 rc2.1 onecosmic
ICS 4.0.3 rc2.1 onecosmic
love these rom
ICS from onecosmic ist really cool, but think about the problems.
Some Apps dont run with this rom. For me, there ist no connection with MyPhoneExplorer. Also problems with unsing external SD, because it is rooted to mnt/emmc.
After flashing GOA 6.0 and some other custom roms, i am at the moment on doctorz rom 13.1 with no FCs or any other problems. It ist smooth, all apps are running..for me the best rom at the moment.
First thing you should decide if you want a 2.3.x ROM or a 4.0.x release. Then you can decide which ROM is right for you.
Check the screenshots and see what you like the most. I can advice MintBerry which is very fast and good looking, but since it's not based on a Samsung ROM you're gonna miss the Samsung Apps (as far as you can miss them).
Stable - any stock ROM or Stock Rom based; you can speed it up by using a different kernel (try semaphore) and/or tweaks (Thunderbolt's). I don's advise any ICS based ROM: they are still a little away from what I call ''stable''.
As for best... well, it depends on what you think. My advice is to try several ones. Each user has it's thoughts on what they think it's ''best''.
i want 2.3.x because i know ics isnt that stable and alot of things dont work still..
currently im on jvq 2.3.4 flashed with odin ( i don't have cwm because i dont know if it will void my guarantee :/ )
and a user above suggested jvt but i also saw jvz and im wondering which is better ( both 2.3.6 )
I have tried lots of roms, I found galaxydroid 3.3 gave best battery life, but 5.0 lost it. I am currently using mitrerom, and this seems very stable, nice tweaks, boots very fast and thus far have no issues. I am avoiding any 4.0 rom, as they are still all in beta stages and can still have issues. Best thing to do, is see what you like and flash, flash and flash. You cant do any wrong if you read the tutorials and take your time, oh and dont touch the bootloader!!
Buttwad. Why not to post a link to that "mitrerom"? I can't find it anywhere.

can someone post a download link for odin please ?
i cant find it anywhere
GingerReal2 R2.0.0 + Semaphore 2.4.0 i the best
ty all i used stock jvz and maybe ill change it in the future

Myhm... someone can.... first post here...
if i want to flash semaphore with odin i put it in the pda ?
it wont break stock jvz?
ANY kernel in Odin -passes as PDA.
JW1 with CWM-Kernel or SauRom ....
so stock jvz will work fine with semaphore 2.4?
bump :/ this is my last question

ICS for P1000 is still experimental, to say the least LOL...
Overcome 4.0.1 is an update (upgrade) for the older 4.0. Read the thread about that update and decide if its for you or not
Cheers
Overcome 4.1 is an update running on GB 2.3.6 not ICS ...apparently Alterbridge and co. are going to start something based on ICS but it won't be soon as far as I understand.
Go to OC 4.1 you wont regret it

First of all: Have you considered updating your Firmware with Samsung Kies or OTA? You are still on Froyo but the latest official Samsung Update for the i9000 is 2.3.x Gingerbread ( you can do it OTA. For this, go in your phone to settings--> about phone--> system updates).
Second: You need root rights to install custom ROMs and some apps like NSTOOLS (for e.g.). Here is a link, which shows you how to root your I9000 running Froyo: http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...t-samsung-galaxy-s-i9000-with-a-single-click/
Flashing means nothing else then to install a newer version of your operating system.
Third: When you update (flash) your device, the lags should be gone.
Samsung kies cannot view/read my firmware version and i dunno why:/
i really wanna fix this mobile bcoz it's too laggy and keeps freezing.. T_T
how to flash my mobile? what's the difference between flash and upgrade?? and the rooting link that you gave me isn't working anymore.. no more megaupload:/

Have you tried updating over the air (OTA) ?
Maybe you should consider this option: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494493
Try to do it step by step.
P.s.: All your phones data will be lost.
P.p.s: Flash and upgrade is basically the same. But flashing is a common expression, when you do it on your own and not via KIES oder OTA (that´s how I explained the difference for myself ;-) .
that's ics? how bout gingerbread? sorry i'm just a beginner..
how to flash it the easiest way? i mean just to fix lags etc. ~
Try it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14273101&postcount=1
It´s for Gingerbread and you´ll find everything you need in this thread to flash your device. If you have any question, feel free to ask. But I´m sure you can handle it! It´s really easy.
P.s.: The easiest way would be with KIES! But this obviously don´t work for you.
Hi Mimi my recommend for you that's to flash one of the ics rom its really fast .. my galaxy i9000 was like your I flashed the ics (right now I am use dark knight 2.1) and now I am happy from this rom flash it you will happy:
1)first flash a stock rom in Odin (you will found how to do that in the forum)
2) download the zip file for your rom(that you want to flashed(my recommend its onesomic or dark knight2.1)
3) do full wipe
4)recovery mode>install zip from SD card>choosing the zip>yes-install
5)flash a kernel(my recommend last semaphore kernel(right now 0.9.1))
Then injoy with fast galaxy s i9000..
Good luck...!
NOTE:its really easy don't afraid if you had any problem in the flashing rom we here to help you ...
I hope for you good luck !!
