Hi, I've themed my different framework-res.apk for months, and I've been able to change almost everything, but for some reason I can't find how to change the color of the slider bars, as well as its shapes or borders. What I want to change is marked in red.
In the picture, those bars are electric blue, the three of them. I guess it's in some xml, but can't find the value. For the edges, well, it must be some png, but also can't find it :S

Could anyone help me? Maybe it's not framework-res.apk, so I don't mind if it's lge-res.apk (using LG), the equivalent to htc.resources.apk or so.

progress_horizontal.xml in res/drawable.
If you wanna change the slider pngs you need to redirect the imgs in that xml.

Yeah it works perfect. I have to experiment a little bit because I made it all white but I know what to do (there are three values that I set to same white for testing).
About the edges, it's not png, it's the value "radius" in the same xml.

No since you have to push/flash framework-res.apk, and that requires root.

hey guys, I am wondering if there is a reason why after I make a market widget semit-transparent that the background is a different size/shape then the original solid color
For example I just did Engadget. After I edited the widget_base_plane.9.png and applied the widget the transparency is there but the transparent window does not retain its same size and the text goes over the backgound .. unlike the original one does.
I see that the file I edited retains the same pixel size after I save the edit as the original pixel size of the untouched file.
I did convert to alpha first and then I just changed the opacity to a greater transparency. saved the file to replace the original.

I am using apk manager/7-zip to open/sign the apks and either gimp or fireworks for the image editing.

Did you re-draw the 1pixle borders in solid black before recompiling? If not, then that is why. You are losing the content areas in the 9 patch.

no I did not ... funny you say that .. cuz I am currently trying to find something on how to do that using gimp .. or even maybe the draw patch tool .. prefferably gimp
im not sure how to go about doing that
from what i have heard is that i have to
1) open the image
2) resize it by 1 pixel less first
3) edit the image like convert to alpha and opacity
4) increase back to 1 pixel
5)then save it
im not sure if those are even the right steps ..
so basically im not sure of the steps or the process for reducing/increasing the pixel.
do i HAVE to draw a border/lines?
do I have to take a pixel off each side?

EDIT: I tried to use the scale option in GIMP to go from 320x100 pixels to 319x99 pixels .. then edited the image and then back to the orig size. I still get an error in the log that say there was a problem with that particular file about the border having to be full transparent or solid no inbetween alphas .. so im guessing that wasnt the right method lol

If you head over to UOT kitchen you can change it (or just about anything else if you want) that is the gingerbread loading icon, they have froyo and others also to choose from as well as changing the colors of the icon.

I saw this pic while reading an article and if you look at the icon for text messaging that on the phone in the pic. Its read and black instead of the standard green. I've been trying to find this icon everywhere cause I think it look hella badass but I haven't had any luck. Does anyone know where I can find it

That would be cool of you, if you did a black SMS icon for me. How do you make em ? Photoshop ?
Also, i was gonna ask in your ICS THeme thread, but i will just ask you here. I just downloaded the latest update and i dig it. THe only thing that i think would be sweet would be changing the 4G icon to match the other ICS style icons. Just a thought. Oh and the lil loading spinner thing. I just did it myself using Metamorph, they had a download for it on DroidPirate, but that would be cool if it came with your theme. Also, are you planning on themeing some launcher/app drawer ICS-style icons eventually ? Right now I just the ADW Theme on top of yours and it works, but it would be cool if i didn't have to. And plus there theme doesn't change every icon to match the Icons in ICS, only a few of em. So right now I am going through and changing the .png files for the icons in the actual App folder, so that way it shows up on both the app drawer and the home screen/dock.
Looks like a blacked out android SMS icon with ics blue smilie face... its in a folder, so the red is from the app behind it... now I want that icon! Haha

Yeh its cause what I did ws go into the Lockscreen.apk delete all of the LG res files and then for some reason it defaulted back to the stock lockscreen albiet messed up.

Looks good. But the request was only a black Settings mod not full theme lol.
Yes indeed it was however to change the settings I need to edit most of the framework-res.apk (When I can get it to actually edit correctly and not boot loop ) so I thought I might as well do a full theme as most of the stuff will need to be changed as is.
Black theme will also bring us better battery life.
This is a Blue and Burnt Orange theme. 16 apk's are themed, but not over done. Like the red theme, if you flash this, you will not be able to change your font size in Settings. I do have a separate zip if you want it. This also works on Nocturnal ROM
Flash in recovery, wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache, flash and enjoy. This will work on either 1.27 OR 1.31 Rom bases

If you haven't figured it out yet all you have to do is tap on the date in the pull down to toggle the quick settings.
