[Q] My Tab doesn't charge - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My tab is currently running Overcome rom. Just recently, I have found my tab "resist" to take the current from the stock charger. Normally, the charging voltage is around 4.1XX v~ 4.2XX v and take about 4 hours to fully charge the tab battery.
Last night, The battery left 30% and I let it charged overnight but this morning what has surprised me is the battery still remained at 30%. Actually, this problem has occurred two days ago but the problem just disappeared after I unplugged and plugged in the usb cable again.
As shown in attachment, the picture show that the charger supplying the current but just stayed on 3.7XX v. Anybody know what is going on with my tab? Is a custom rom issue or the charger problem?
Any advice or help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Test with kouxidaxi's kernel, still no luck.
Please help! my TAB is nearly dying...

[Q] Battery life question

I've read a few threads regarding battery life but none seem to address my problem. I have the Galaxy tab running stock honeycomb bone stock got it 3 days ago still got protective tape on it. But the problem I have is I charged it all night while off from 0% to 80% (8 hour period) shouldn't it charge more then that? Also while using it at work on its charging dock plugged in via wall charger (same as when its charging at night) it seems to charge SUPER slow or not at all, it actually drains some times while plugged in. Any ideas?
Try charging it using the charger you got with the tablet, not the charging dock. I don't know exactly about the charging dock, but I know that it takes longer for the tablet to charge on USB.

[Q] Galaxy Tab P1000 Charging Issue

I've searched High and Low for a solution but I can't find anyone who have the same problem as I do.
My Galaxy Tab is running on 2.3.3 and it has been good all this while. Then recently, when my Galaxy Tab shows the 100% fully charged symbol, after unplugging it falls back into the battery % I had before charging. (This happens when I left it idle/when I'm sleeping)
Basically the problem is, it wouldn't charge. So I decided to monitor it as it charges. After 2 hours or so, the battery still shows 53% charging and did not increase. Neither did it drop while charging.
However, when I drain it a little, it varies. For example when I drain it to 43% and recharge after that, it might charge till it's 60% or 55% and stuck.
I need a solution. Thank You
Well first of you should try to use an app called battery calibrator.
But it can also be that you have one of the faulty Taiwan battery's. Samsung replaced them later on with China battery's and they don't have this problem...
I have an Taiwan battery with similar troubles. I for example can charge to 100% then disconnect and fall too 99% instantly. Then if I reboot I come back with 50% battery or less left...
So I don't reboot my phone when not at home
Anyways, I orderd a new Chinese battery from eBay ...
i have a bit same problem. when i charge the battery percentage still the same even if i charge it for 2 or 3 hours...is this a software problem?pls help.thnx

[Q] CM 11 (JCSullins): Battery not charging?

I installed JCSullins 4.4.4 CM 11 from 9/13/14. Thanks to the Toolbox, the process went extremely smoothly. I ran into a small issue though. The battery would charge properly overnight for the first week or so. Then I noticed that the battery wasn't getting charged (no charging indicator) but a reboot would fix the issue and the battery would start charging again. This morning, the battery won't charge at all, even with a reboot. It shows 51% and discharging. I tried different chargers but none seem to have an effect. I haven't had a chance to plug it into a laptop yet to see if the USB port is broken. Has anyone else had battery issues after upgrading? If the USB port is indeed broken, would a charging dock (Touchstone?) charge the TP?
Might be Cable problem
Hi,
I've been using this rom for about 3 days and didn't noticed any problems in charging. What I had in the earlier days is battery drain in lowest clock frequency. Then i rebooted it 5 to 6 times and then problem got solved also deep sleep started working.
You can check the cable and the charging adapter. It might be the blacksheep.

Thanks for your reply. I tried using other chargers and cables and nothing seems to make a difference. Oddly enough, the charge has dropped to 15% and if I leave it plugged in all day/night, it doesn't drop beyond whatever % it was last at. As an example, if I leave it unplugged and the charge drops to 10%, it will stay at 10% when the TP is plugged in. The battery icon also shows charging for a minute or so, then stops again.
Just as a follow, at least one other user has this problem. See the 4.4.4 thread in the developer section. Unfortunately, I cannot post in a developer until I have at least 10 posts. Sigh.

P1000 wont charge

Hello Guys!!!
A Galaxy Tab 7 was given to me and was said to have a faulty battery. So we replaced the battery. After few hours of usage, the battery is reducing percentage for every 2-3 minutes, and the tab's back is getting hot... We tried to charge the tab using an ac adaptor and the battery icon only blinks and from 32 percent, it raised to 40. But when the plug is removed, it returns back to 32.
The tab was flashed to CyanogenMod Kitkat thinking it was only an os problem, but the problem still existed. One time I decided to charge the tablet overnight. When I peeked at the tablet it showed 100% but after I turned it on, it only showed 10%...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks!

@rdwin_p, I would suggest you to boot into the recovery mode and wipe the battery statistics. After you have done so, turn off the device and leave it for charging; with the device switched off. Perhaps after an hour, touch it to ascertain if the device still feels hot.
What are the electrical ratings of the AC adapter/charger you previously used to charge the device?
Keep us updated.

@YLNdroid: Thanks for the reply! Sad to say that the battery of the tablet is already drained, so I can't access the recovery mode and wipe the battery statistics. But I know I already wiped the battery stats by deleting a file on root ( I can't remember what file is it...).
And the tablet goes hot when charged while it is turned off... It is the right side (when facing the back portion of the tab) that turns hot. When I opened the case of the tablet, the side hot is that the one covered with aluminum i think? the right side of the battery that is covered with silver....
Last charger used was for a huawei tab with an output of 1A.
Sorry, I was unable to reply fast. I wasn't able to check the forum lately...
Thanks again
Edit: The tablet has power now, charged with a universal charger. Still the same when plugged.
Addtl. Info: When the tablet was still not upgraded to Kitkat, The battery icon on the gingerbread blinks whenever it is plugged. Any thoughts on that? Replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!!

Updated charging strategy

Hi,
I wondered if anybody had noticed any recent changes in the way that their Note 4 charges. I have a QI wireless charging back, and I've noticed over the last couple of days that overnight my phone charges to 100%, and then stops charging. This means that when I wake up, the phone is a few % off fully charged.
I'm sure that the phone used to charge to 100%, and then effectively stay there until I removed it from the charging pad.
The only thing, other than a change of behaviour associated with a ROM version, that I could put this down to is that I have changed the USB cable I've been using with the charging pad, but I'm not sure how that could have this effect?
Has anybody else noticed any changes with the latest ROM release(s)? I'm using an N910F with the 8933508 changelist.
Cheers,
Steve.
Hi Steve,
Not sure if this is of help, I'm on an N910C with 6.0.1 firmware DPE6, Kernel 3.10.9-7633655. I'm sitting here with my Note 4 on my Choetech 3-coil wireless charger, having just charged it from 83% - 100%. The phone is staying at 100% - in fact I've had the screen on for the past 10 minutes or more, using the phone for various tasks, with WiFi and Bluetooth on, and it's still at 100%. I recently (about 2 months ago) got a new battery direct from Samsung, so that may be a factor. Perhaps your battery is getting past its best?

My battery is a relatively new Anker, and isn't exhibiting any issues (it lasts all day, no problem).
Cheers,
Steve
