Droid 3 Stock launcher, Can i enable more than 5 screens? - Motorola Droid 3

Was looking into options to see if there was another way to enable more than 5 screens, may be i missed something but has anyone found a solution?
Thx

as far as i can tell you need to use another launcher if you want more/less homescreens.

[Q] Custom gestures for Sense 5?

Does anyone happen to know of an app that would allow me to continue to use the Sense 5 Launcher and have a "swipe down" gesture command that pulls down the Notification Bar? I really want to try and use Sense 5 to at least give it a shot but I also want to be able to swipe down on the home screen to pull down the Notification Bar. (I'm so used to having this ability from other custom Launcher apps that I really don't want to give up that feature). If there's a way to tweak Sense 5 or an app I can install to just enable this one gesture command, I'd be happy. :cyclops:
Thanks to anyone who has any helpful suggestions, it is much appreciated! :fingers-crossed:

No, I'm afraid I couldn't find anything that allowed me to do this. I caved in and put Apex Launcher on my One after realizing I also really needed to be able to use custom icons on my phone. (The default Sense 5 icon for the Phone app is awful (IMHO) and really looked bad with the other icons I have in my Dock).
You could try giving this a go...

Awesome! Thanks buddy!
If you're interested in gesture controls you may want to take a look at gmd gesture control. The app is quite amazing in what you can control by gestures anytime (not just on home).

You can have custom icons if your Rom uses xposed installer, with unicon

Getting rid of MUI

I am getting this phone soon and can not wait. BUT, I really do not like the look of MUI. I'm not interested in having some kind of IOS look-a-like with no apps tray. Has anyone else been using Google Now, or any other launcher, for a while? Could someone who knows about these things explain the pros and cons of just using a different Launcher over MUI rather than flashing a new CM based ROM? Do the changes made by MUI interfere with a more traditional Android launcher?
Used miui7 on my my oneplus one for a good while. No trouble at all to just change the launcher. Was one of the first things I did the second time I used it. Mainly because I needed a launcher that would rotate 180°. Miui doesn't do that for the launcher.
But if all you want is an app drawer, you can easily simulate one with miui launcher. Just create a folder, drop every single app in there and place it in the dock area, where a drawer would be. That's all an app drawer is after all.
The only problem is sorting the apps inside the folder since on miui 7 I never found a way of sorting apps inside a folder alphabetically. I just worked around this by swiping up from the home screen and typing in the first letters of whatever app I was searching for.
BTW you're not losing anything by replacing the miui launcher, the miui experience isn't the launcher alone, it's way more than that. If anything, you're gaining extra functionality but just using nova or alike. Can't say about miui8, never used it.
One of the first things I did when I got the Mi5 a couple of days back was to install Nova Launcher for the same reason. The other thing was to swap the hardware buttons around.
It works just as you'd expect - getting an App drawer and the ability to have a centred home screen.
One of the issues with the MIUI base is that you can't change the Lockscreen wallpaper when your active launcher isn't the MIUI launcher. This is easily fixed by switching to the MIUI launcher, changing the lock screen wallpaper from the settings menus, then switching back to your launcher of choice.
I use buzz launcher and think it's great
Change the launcher. Miui is great otherwise!

How to disable App suggestions?

I don't want the app suggestions at the top in the App drawer. Earlier it was possible to disable it from the settings of Google Now cards screen in earlier Moto devices, but I couldn't find any similar setting in this phone.
I don't wanna use any different launcher. If possible, do let me know where to find the settings to disable it.
Thanks.
get nova launcher
I believe those are recently used apps, not suggestions.
Now Launcher is awesome. Prime was just on sale for 99¢.
The best feature is backup /restore of your home screens.

Anyway to Increase Icon sizes on the Home screen and App drawer?

Anyway to do this WITHOUT Nova Launcher or third party launchers? I know I can change the screen grid size but I do not want to do that either. I tried messing with the DPI sizes in Developer options, but was curious if anyone was able to accomplish this with Samsung's own launcher?
Thanks!

I've tried in the past with my Note 8 and it was a no go. Is there any particular reason you don't want to just use Nova launcher?
Thanks! I have used Nova Launcher for what seems like 10 years. I really wanted to try the stock Samsung everything

Ah I understand. I have tried that successfully on my Note 8 because I ignored the oversized spacing. Then I got tired of not having Google Feed and gave up, went back to nova, haven't went back since.
Edit - I see you don't want to change grid size.

DPI settings & associated glitches

Hi all
Just got my s10+ and i can't help but notice how big everything is. Changed my minimum width to 511 from 411 and so far it seems to be stable (and much smaller as I like it to be) but I was wondering whether anyone knows what are the "best" values , especially while wanting to avoid graphical glitches or the camera app crashing (if thats still a thing) ?
Would love to know this too. Main reason why I end up using Nova Launcher to make things on the homescreen and dock smaller, much smaller, but with the s10+, really want to avoid a 3rd party launcher
I've been using a minimum width of 450, and so far so good. I haven't experienced any glitch nor any issue. You can experiment with any value until you find the best to your liking. I started with 420, then 430, etc. Until I found the sweetspot for me with 450.

Why would you want to avoid a 3rd party launcher? Does the stock one have some advantages I dont know about?

Not at all. I have a Note 8 with Nova and though I love it, I just feel like it is another app on the phone which can be avoided, but with the One UI I'd want to try it as stock as possible in terms of launchers but the DPI settings would be nice to do system wide either way, not just on the home screen.
I remember back on the Note 7, when I fiddled with system DPI settings, I found that I didnt like something due to the apps opening in an odd way or crashing, so when I tried to go back to the default DPI setting of what it was, it did NOT work correctly and did not restore the phone to the way it was prior to the initial DPI change, so I was forced to factory reset the phone.
Can someone confirm if this is in fact the case still?
Can anyone confirm if changing the DPI from 411 to something else, and then back to 411 will bring the display back to 100% stock?
I heard that you can get the 6x6 home screen grid by changing the dpi, but I'm not having any luck. Has anyone been able to achieve this?
