another possible battery calibration technique for HD7 - HD7 General

If u have poor battery life, try booting into bootloader (tri color screen) mode by pressing turning off the phone, pressing the power button and vol down buttons together. Then charge the phone for a while under this mode.
Restart the phone by holding the power button If can't restart , pull out the battery and put it back again and turn on the phone.
Tested on nodo with the latest July firmware update.

My take is that somehow it wipes the battery stats and rebuilds it from scratch.

is it by connecting to power source or our pc/laptop.

Can't see that orange led lights when i connect charger while my hd7 is in bootloader mode...

The phone does not charge in this mode, thats why you must have at least 50% battery when you need to flash roms.

The solution is easy. First charge the battery conecting the device in Boothloader mode (press and hold camera buton and press power). Conect the usb cable in bootloader mode and instal the ROM you want.
good luck
Can some one explain the steps to get in to bootloader mode or usb mode. I have the same problem with my MDA. I need to get a usb mode to update the ROM. the battery says unknown and as it turns on its messing the GSM rom so no calls can be made out. The charging icon is always on, and I'd hate to have a $500 paper weight on my desk
thanks,
Adam
To go to bootloader hold camera button down (don't release it) then press the reset button with stylus (don't release camera button) then release reset button . When you have a tricolor screen then you can release the camera button. You're in bootloader mode.

[Q][HELP]XZ cannot boot and gives no response at all!

Hi there,
I have unlocked my XZ before. Yesterday I seemed to flash a wrong kernel, and after that my XZ cannot work any more.
At first I tried to press the power button and it gave me no response, so did I do the hard reset(power button + volume up for seconds). Then I kept it charging on the wall to see what gonna happen, about 8 hrs passed and nothing special came out so I pull it out of the power. After a while when I press the power button again the power led blinked for three times just as the phone got too low battery to boot, then I charged it again, but the power led went off after several minutes. I tried to get it into flash mode or fastboot mode but I got no luck.(if I could get it into those modes I know how to recover it)
I saw the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170 and it talks about charging cycle like this:
On a working phone there are different stages of a battery's charging cycle. The stages are listed in order they happen. The cycle goes from a completely dead battery through a phone running on battery and back to a completely dead battery.
1.Dead battery. No response from the power button, no screen and no led.
2.Connect to charger
3.low battery level charging mode. This is when just the RED led is on and no screen. At this stage the battery's charge is to low to turn the phone on, but it is charging.
4.Kernel controlled off-line charging mode. This is when the battery has charged enough from step (3) and boots the kernel to charge the battery. The phone is off, but could be turned on using the power button. A quick press of the power button will show this battery icon. Icon will fill with charge. The kernel also controls charging when the phone is on.
5.Battery is fully charged.
6.Unplug the phone and turn on.
7.Battery is dead from normal use.
8.Repeat stages starting at (1)
The kernel of my phone got bricked so I think my phone can be charged on the step 3 but when the power is enough to power on it tries to get onto step 4, and then it fails to be in the offline charging mode, at same time the power led goes off, as it was totally dead. I think if I could get my phone into flash mode before it tries to be on step 4 it can be recovered but after several tries I still couldn't do it.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
If I were you I would try harder to get into fastboot and flash a kernel with recovery.
Still, whenever you have troubles on an Unlocked device, resort the official flashtool.

how do you flash a wrong kernel? there is only one Dev kernel.

Probably flashed the 4.2.2 version on 4.1.2 or the other way round.

fastboot and flash mode are at the lower levels and should not be affected by what Kernel you flash.
And since these modes do not use your screen, they don't really need a minimum battery level, although it wouldn't be safe to flash at low battery level.
What you can do is, power off your phone and disconnect from the wall charger.
Connect your phone to the PC while holding Volume Up.
This should put your phone in fastboot mode.
Let it stay this way for a couple of hours, you should be able to get some power in the battery.
Get the right kernel for your device's current firmware from here.

download the kernel package update.zip
save it on c:\ and extract the boot.img from the package
save the boot.img to the folder containing fastboot binary
flash the boot.img using fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
reboot from fastboot
Code:
fastboot reboot
the device should now start booting, enjoy the kernel

If you are unable to follow these instructions or you have any doubts, feel free to ask I'll do my best to explain.
Thanks to all the fellows who helped me before. The most serious problem was I couldn't even get my phone into fastboot mode or flashmode.
Finally I sent my phone to the customer service. Luckily enough they didn't check whether its bootloader is unlocked or not and returned it back to the factory. Still waiting for what's gonna happen.

[Q] Broken Xperia Z

Hi everyone!
4 days ago i washed my phone for about 10 seconds, phone worked normally. After 1 hour i saw water went into both front and back camera. I got out all flaps and after some hours cameras were functional again. After even more hours buttons started to act weird. Sometimes power button wasn't working, sometimes volume up was acting like power button and so on. I tried to restart the phone, sometimes it went into safe mode(probably volume button was pressed by itself). Finally I couldn't start the phone at all(perhaps the power button stopped working at all).
After that i calmed down and put my phone into rice(hoping that would absorb water if any). After 24 hours i had no luck. When i had connected my phone to computer, the led was red, phone vibrated 3 times and then again and again.
Next step was to open the phone( removing the back with a hairdryer), took out the battery and trying to dry the phone with hairdryer. Still no succes. When connecting to PC and start flashtool, my phone wasn't recognised. I installed Sony Update Service (SUS) and then when i connected my phone i heard that sound you often hear when connecting a new device to an USB port. Now my phone is seen by flashtool, but it's always in fastbootmode. I even flashed CWM and it worked.
The problem is that it seems volume up is pressed always so i can't enter in flashmode to flash 4.4.2, it always goes into fastboot.
When on battery the phone is dead at all. Still when i try to charge the phone, it starts, displays Sony logo then shows that it's charging (at first that battery was empty but after 2 hours it got full charged). If i press power button it shutdown.
To resume, when on battery nothing happens( the battery could be dead). When plugged to wall charger the phone starts charging( so battery could work). Power button does nothing at all when on battery, but works when phone is charging or when connected to PC in fastboot.
If anyone had any idea what I could do I would be very appreciative. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me.Thank you very much for your support!

Even if i down't press anything, just connect the phone to usb, led is blue, that means it's in fastboot mode...so i think volume up is stuck, pressed.

or the volume pcb might have shorted
Please remember this for the rest of your life:
When you notice that water has went into your device.... TURN IT THE F OFF AND LET TIT DRY...
Using it while it's wet from the inside is really bad.
Update Guys
Today I've replaced that yellow connector that contains power, vol up and vol down buttons. I managed to enter flashmode and flashed the newest official rom .233. Power button and vol up work like charm, vol down is dead.
The problem is that my phone is stuck on safe mode(probably because vol down is stuck). I want to know if there's any solution to get rid of this safe mode. I read somewhere that changes can be made to the kernel so that vol down will be disabled for ever. If you know any ROM, any mod, whatever that disables the vol down button i'll appreciate your help.

XT890 doesn't start at all.

Hello. This morning I've turned off the alarm, turned on WIFI and went back to sleep. I can't tell for sure, but I think the battery was low. During the next 2 hours I checked the time several times. I don't remember accepting any OTA. Eventually I got up, tried to check the time and the phone was off. I tried to turn it on, no effect. No matter how many times and for how long I pressed and held the power button, the green LED only flashed for a split second and that's all. I plugged in the charger, and the LED stayed lit -but- there was this barely noticeable flickering. Charged it for about 30, 60, 120 minutes, didn't start plugged or unplugged. I went to work, 8 hours later (phone was unplugged) I tried to turn it on again, this time the LED doesn't even flash, but when charging there is no flickering. No combination of buttons works. Windows doesn't find the device, neither does RSD.
I've never done anything 'custom' to the phone. The last change I made was setting the alarm to turn off by shaking (yesterday, never used this option before).
Is it dead?
Try taking SD card out and holding Vol down and then Power for 20 secs, then let go of Power,
Already done that, nothing. No matter how long I charge it now, after unplugging and pressing power button the LED doesn't even flash. Could it be a battery problem (before its death, it would last for a day)? Is there any way of recovering my data without buying a new one?
Try opening and disconnect battery for a bit.
I'll do that as a last resort, on weekend maybe since I don't have the tools with me. Any other clues?
Nobody knows how to help me?
I'm going to make a factory cable. Will this alone allow me to recover the data? Or if I'll be able to flash the phone, can I recover the data afterwards?
Also, I'm not sure if I understand correctly: does the factory cable recharge the battery or not? Is there a way to recharge it when removed from the phone?
Try to use medfield unbrick script. If You have only green led it seems to be bootloader error so this script should bring Your phone to life or Your phone has broken emmc and You can start looking for a new logic board. Good luck.
I've installed the drivers, but Windows and XFSTK don't recognize my device at all. Factory cable also didn't help. I liked my phone very much.
Did You enter medfield mode using combination with camera button??
By a combination you mean holding the camera button and connecting the phone to a pc? I tried that.
Disassembe Your phone, pull out battery, push power button for a 10 sec, plug in battery, push camera button and connect USB. If it wont help You I don't see any hope for Your phone.
Well, new option to try is a new hope. I'll try that on the weekend. Could you please be more specific:
1. Pull out the battery.
2. Press the power button and wait 10 seconds.
3. Insert the battery: should I be still holding the power button at this moment?
4. Press the camera button.
5. Plug in the usb cable (factory? regular?) - should I be still holding the power and camera buttons?
Battery trick is only to discharge capacitors. Sometimes even phone is dead it can turn on in some strange mode and then You can't boot it to flash. Thats why You need to pull out battery, push power for a few sec to completely discharge motherboard and just release this button. After that You can just plug in battery and continue normal unbrick process - so hold camera button only and connect regular usb cable.
You can also try reset option instead of pulling battery out. To do that do not disassemble Your phone but just plug in regular USB, when phone starts (green led) hold power and vol- until green led goes off and then quickly start holding only camera button.
I have no more ideas.
Ok, I've tried everything. Nothing brought my phone back to life.
Thanks for all your help.

Poco M3 Pro 5g

Locked bootloader
It was powered off for some time because I had to replace broken display
Now when I try to boot a battery icon appears and then it turns off. Same thing happen when I plug in the charger

I went through it. try holding the power button, connect the cable and only release after the battery shows 1%. you can try holding the power and volume + or power and volume - buttons too instead of Power button only, in the same way. alternatively, you can leave it on the charger for hours and it might turn on. Make sure you are using the supplied xiaomi charger
If I plug the cable or I plug and hold the power button the phone just tries to boot continuously showing the battery icon and then turning off and repeat, nothing really happens
Is that what is supposed to happen?

Yes, It happens. Luckily the phone will reach 1% and charge normally, keep trying
You actually saved me, it worked in the end, after some loops it booted alone, all I had to do was just let it sit there, didn't even have to keep power button all the time, once it started the loop I just left it there and when I came back it was booted.
