[Q] Where did you buy your Nook Color?

I just wanted to get an idea of how the majority of people aquired their nook color. Online, in a B&N store, Best buy, craigslist? I'm shopping around and looking for the best place to get one under MSRP, or at least tax-free. Any suggestions, or websites I should keep an eye out on for possible sales?

I got mine from craigslist for $225.00 total. it was brand new (still in plastic). the best part about CL is no sale tax, saving me $30.00. I met the guy at the mall give him 1/2 of the money and told him if the nook boots up fine I'll give him rest of the money. so far I'm vary happy with my NC running CM7

best buy simply so i could also get a micro sd with an adapter at the same store.

I bought mine on ebay new, but no box. 207 shipped.

Ebay here as well. B&N provided a coupon for $50 off. It was $208. Pretty sure it's the first time I've paid a tax for an internet purchase.

Had to get mine from the farther-away Walmart, as B&N, BB, and the closer Walmart were all out of stock. Tempted to get it online, but wanted to try local first.

Bought mine at the nearest B&N store. Nice folks, but "The Nook Guy" wasn't there.

Store. There's a big stink on b&n forums towards people who got it on hsn. Kinda funny.

With CM7 NC makes the best price-performance for me.. and it's not sold in Europe.. they'd outsell ipad in Europe if B&N saw the oppurtunity

Best Buy, mostly on a whim, knowing that there was cme community behind it. Of course, things have really changed now, haven't they.....

Craigslist for $150. Couldn't resist such a low price. It was practically brand new.
I bought it because I knew there is an active XDA community supporting it. Even at $250 the nook is a pretty nice bargain given the hardware.

I got mine at Best Buy with some other stuff so I could get it with no interest for 18 months deal.

I bought mine at a B&N store. It was a week before the Groupon coupon deal but at least I got a 5% rebate by using a B&N Mastercard.

Nook Color (refurbished) on sale for $190 on eBay

On eBay today for $189.99 with free shipping, and sold by Barnes & Noble. It's a refurbished model, but good price if you're in the market for one.

I was just about to post this. Deal is still on.
I have 2 nook coming my way. 1 I bought two days ago at $225 that I am going to return as soon as the package lands on my doorstep. Another one that I just bought last night at $189. I'm so excited!

Sucks, I ordered a refurb one yesterday for $225, I emailed them to see if I can get them to just refund the $35 as I don't have enough left on my paypal to buy a second one at $190 and just wait til I can send the other one back. Hopefully they still have them available in like a week so I can still get the savings.

I just ordered one through this deal too, making it my first personal nook color and third one I'll be setting up with aftermarket firmware (Thinking CM as the honeycomb stuff is just too buggy for me).

If I remember correctly B&N also selling new NC with 50 dollar coupon. Do you think its worth to buy that or just buy the refurbished one?

Could you please post the source for the $50 coupon?
I personally would not hesitate one second to buy a new device @ $200 over a refurb for $190...

I know there is a sale for $25 off the NC new if you have a B&N membership but that's the only sale I found from days of searching.

[UPDATE]Nook Colors disappeared from Local Walmarts

I went to my local Walmart today and noticed something when I passed the electronics section all the Nook Colors were gone. Now I was at this same Walmart a few days ago and there were plenty in the case. I used Walmart.com to check in-store availability of the Nook Color and almost every Walmart on the list showed Limited Stock or Out of Stock statuses. Either someone went around buying up all the Nook Colors or Walmart its clearing their stock in anticipation of a new product possibly from B&N. I don't know about you but I'm more inclined to think it's the latter. Though I could be completely wrong and they just decided to stop selling Nook Colors.
PS: Walmart.com is now selling refurbished Nook Colors for $150.00, definitely an unbeatable price for a good tablet.

I got my Color Nook off of Ebay. It was a refurbished Nook sold directly by B&N. It cost $149 plus shipping.

My local Walmart has about 50+ Nook Colors stacked up, all for $249 still

The ones sold by B&N on eBay have free shipping. There is a credible third-party also selling them for you're price though.

just ordered 2 through quidco and got them for £179 each and £11 back through quidco making them
£174.50 each for the 32 gig best deal anywhere in the uk

I ordered mine on Thursday for £179, then got a call from my bank saying there was fraudulent activity on my account and the CPW payment, or rather the small test transaction they make before request the full amount triggered the alert, annoyed!
Anyway, I sorted out the bank/card issues and called CPW and gave then a verbal dressing down for the hassle they had caused me, and for my troubles they sent my Nexus7 by next day courier for free, arriving the next morning.
A little inconvenience, but still, it's a Nexus7 32gb for £179.
I must now reluctantly hand it over to the wife to wrap up for xmas and act surprised on the 25th!

Funny I had the same from my credit card company doing a fraud check had to phone cpw to make sure it had gone through second time.anyway all good had a text and should be delivered to store on tuesday

yes. absolutely.

I'd expect it to drop by another 10%, but you could probably get that by buying second hand on eBay. (I did)

I paid $50 for mine (HD+) the other week when they were on super discount at office max

picked mine up from walmart for 179. even at this price its a steal.

Best buy and other places have them for $150. Some people have picked them up for ~$100.
I don't know if we will see another $99 fire sale like the hp touch pad

I want a tablet where I don't have to zoom in to read the texts in the magazine.

Zinio looks great. Text is a good size. Easy to rest if out have decent vision. Pictures look amazing.
I'm reading the car and driver mag with the new Corvette and I can zoom in and see lots of details

I got mine at B&N this weekend with the member 10% off coupon for the Nooks. It was also tax free as part of my state's back to school holiday. So, I ended up paying $161 total for a 32gb Nook HD+.
