[Q] An App to show all partitions and filesystem information - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All
Is there an app that can show all the partitions and file system type (rfs, ext3 or ext4) and free space?
Thanks
Mike
I found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011152 but not really compatible with my SGS.

I use disk usage, great tool for having a disk clearup, and I also use sd maid for helping clear up, hope this helps

Is ur SD card setup for a2sd. If not I'd recommend it. It would free up a bunch of room

The best and easiest solution is to use sgs chlorine, do a search, you will free up loads of free space with a few clicks

[Q] SD partitions

Hi guys
Could anyone explain to me what it does when you have partitions on your SD'cards ?
And in the Eye candy rom, there's something about "Hard Coded 2MB SD cache"
What does all this means ?
Sorry for beeing a noob in this area
(using SwiftDroid V2.0 RC3)
I think this is the hard coded SD cache, but without this app. Install, set to 2MB, check the box and apply.
Im using an 8gb sd what is the correct partition ext value

the exit partition number isn't important you can have two or three what's important is how much cache you give the sd or how big swap partition is for your card I would say ext 3 512 mb swap 256 mb and 2.5 mb sd cache should be good hope this helps also you can check your memory in terminal just type su then free

your welcome also if all that sounded ab it hard use clock work mod to partition and create swap then use sd booster from market and set value to 2500

Tips

How you mange (apps, delete system apps, scripts and more) your milestone to get more free RAM and performance?
Thanks

Create an ext2/3-partition as described here: http://www.mrmuh.com/2012/01/update-a-motorola-milestone-from-motorola-firmware-to-cyanogenmod-7/
For more RAM, create a swap partition, as described here: http://androidandme.com/2009/08/news/how-to-manually-partition-your-sd-card-for-android-apps2sd/
Please keep in mind that swap will not make your device faster, it will only keep background processes alive for longer. Sdcard read/write speed is way slower than real RAM.

I get 70mb free ram with cm7.2.4d(gapps not installed). Real smooth. I use lightning launcher, very simple, uses less ram. Phone is damn smooth.
Not using JIT frees some more ram.
How I know if I have swap partition that work fine?
Sent from my Milestone using xda app-developers app
Open the Terminal Emulator and type free
If you see numbers in the 'swap' row your swap is working fine, if there are only zeros then something is wrong.
thnks. i have swap and ext2 partition. ext3 can help ?
I recommend you to upgrade to EXT4 (it can be done easily from FuFu's MiniMod).
Ext3 is a journaling file system, which means the possibilities of a data-loss is really low, and Ext4 does everything the Ext3 does, just better.

you can swap the internal memory and external memory with this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337762
or you can use foldermount, gl to sd, directory bind to transfer datas from internal to external

Depend on your SD's class, if 6+ then it should not slowing down the device

I use link2sd for apps and folder mount for game data, and using these I have over 4gig internal spare.
Search xda for threads on how to use both of these or use Google.

the question is how did you do it bro i can't figure out i have sandisk 16 gigs class 10 sd card..so pls tell me..
both of these apps Are free on play store.
Link2sd needs a secondary partition creating I used easeus free windows tools and set to primary. Then open app and select apps you want, then create link.
Folder mount works similar but you need to create a new folder then select which data files to copy across.
Search Google for the how to guides or xda how to use
Try clean master.

Link2SD is for those small apps that dont use /sdcard/android/data or /obb folders. FolderMount is for those huge /obb data and more. Use both for pushing all those files and apps to microsd.
