I'm on the Fasty 2.3 rom and I just cant seem to go more then 12 hours on battery life even on light useage. The only thing I keep on is my 3g service, which is all the time. I've also tried using battery calibrationaters (lol) and none of them seem to calibrate my captivate.. I think. What's a good app to monitor my battery and also an app to help me calibrate my battery in case I'm doing it wrong somehow?
I calibrate by charging to 100% and then rebooting my phone but my phone seems to drain at the same speed no matter what I do. I installed Fasty from stock also.
Chechk the battery what is using the battery, maybe it's the android OS

And what if it is indeed the android OS?
Remove the battery and put it back say about after 15/20 mins, This has helped some members to solve this issue. Just give it a try.

Lol, I've been reading and I guess there's a bug with the Android OS or something and it'll run high if your phone is on for a long time. The fix is just to restart.

That did it! I charged my phone up to 100% then i calibrated it. Shut off my phone, took that battery out, grabbed a plate of food and decided to watch Despicable Me, finished my meal and then put the battery back and now my phone is at 67% after 18 hours!
Great, Thats amazing 67 after 18 good going mate.

That's strange, my battery is inaccurate. When it arrives ate 17% it dies, when I start charging again it starts at 1%, then when arrive at 80% it appears at 100%
Something is really wrong, I dunno why.
I already tried wiping the battery stats (on recovery), but still the same thing.
Any help? Any app to fix it?
Thanks.

The battery seems physically dead. Calibration is bullcrap anyway, it proceeds automatically once you reach 100% battery.
My phone is buging. Can you help me? Thank pro.
Thanks for the help guys. Going to see if it fix
You fixed it?
No it didn't fixed it

Purchase a new battery and test again.
That has worked for me.
It's the idea, going to do that, thanks
Perhaps you will give this one a try?

Maybe try wiping battery stats in cwm recovery and reflash the rom ur using I had this issue but mine used to die out at 7% or so after I did that haven't seen battery issues since then I'm on miui rom might work for u too. I think it happens if you flash new roms a lot at that time I was experimenting with all kinds of roms then stuck around with miui since I believe its the best
Sorry for my bad use of English;
I got my lg optimus 2x 1 month ago and i noticed a huge battery drain.I was thinking that it will work fine after 6-7 full cycles.I saw a thread in which a guy that after doing a factory reset(he had the same problems as i have) the battery will work normally.
I did that but it didn't work for me. Is this the solution?Did I do it right?Do i have to buy a new battery? I have rooted my phone yesterday so I was thinking is this a software issue? I have lg official 2.3.4 ROM. DO i need another ROM?
please.
Help me guys.
Thank you!!!
Do you leave data usage on during the night? Are your apps allowed to synch automatically? Try using airplane mode during the night (that's what I do... I don't normally get calls or messages during the night )

I don't leave wifi ,background data or 3g on,if i leave it charged at 100% at the time i got to bed,the next day when i get back from school, without using the phone my battery level is around 40%.
Using a live wallpaper? The factory reset only works because it stops the application/rogue setting from being there.
If you get 'Battery Monitor' you will be able to see what is draining you battery, and any 'wake-locks' or 'partial-wakelocks' that are stopping the phone from going into sleep mode.
look at the battery usage indicator and post a screenshot of it. Maybe the problem can be isolated.

Yes that's why I did a general test drive for two weeks on my phone before starting flashing and rooting and what not. Unfortunately our friend here has already flashed CM7 on it.
Unless he's able to restore stock software I'm affraid he won't be covered by warranty...
If he uses NVFlash he will be able to get it back to stock
Its easy to put back stock firmware if he knows wchich one he had, btw usually there is one backup on your sd card, check for it.

Try to flash a cm9 rom. It saves a lot of juices. For 2.3.X. The battery drians is really terrible
My note switches off suddenly with a white pixelated screen.Sometimes it starts after removing and keeping the battery again but sometimes it won't start at all.one month back I have given in mobile shop and he told me that it is some hardware issue. He charged 1000 for that. For few days it was normal and it started again now. What might be the problem ?? I'll post screenshots of the mobile at the time it strucks

He didn't say BUY a NEW battery. He said TRY an ALTERNATIVE battery.
How often does it switch off? If it's often then you could try leaving it in recovery mode to see if it does it there...

Recovery mode does not use much resources. So it will be hard to tell.

I have a 2 month old original battery in my note. I noticed screen flickering a week ago which is a sure sign the battery is past its prime.
Still, some questions:
Have you dropped this phone?
Are you still running stock android? root?
Did you overclock / undervolt anything?
How often is this happening?
Is the phone hot when this happens?
Ofcourse,I've dropped it many times.I think problem also because of that droppings only.Running on stock firmware. No overclock. Can't say how often....The phone won't be hot but may be sometimes I feel slight hotter.

I've flickering issues in my last battery.I know how it turns off when battery is damaged.so I can say it's not battery issues.I'm thinking of hardware problem only coz of so many droppings. Can you suggest me what could be damaged coz of falling on ground....and also can I try custom rom to get rid of this....???

There is no guarantee that a custom rom can help, but it is much easier than dealing with hardware issue. Definitely should try a custom rom 4.12 to see if it helps.

Custom rom also not helping.Today it switched off completely and not switching on even.sometimes it switches on after sometime but no luck this time.so please someone suggest me,what are my options now ?and What would I do now ?

Personally, my next step would be opening it up, remove all the dust(if any) and check all connections.
If that does not help, you have a problem.
If all fails, consider maybe overvolting and/or underclocking.?
Hello,
I have a problem with my battery percentage since the MAJ 6.0.1.
My 6 nexus is rooted, so I flashed manually system.img and new radio from the Factory Image.
After restart phone, My Nexus indicates 3000/4000% battery.
In recovery I have the right battery.
Do you know how to solve the problem?
Phone discharged thoroughly but still the same problem.
Sorry, I can not put outside link to image.
It hasn't happened to anyone ever. Ever. So searching the forums for "battery percent" will not give any results, I assure you.
i guess you dont first search for your issues solution? well, the same question gets posted on xda daily, id suggest you search. anyways, its a bug. ignore it, it will probably get fixed next update.
I cannot ignore it because I never know level of my battery
My Nexus turns off without warning me : finally, discharged battery !
Thanks

Hoo, thank you for your answer !
This problem is with "boot.img" image modified for the root.
I flashed the new version... but now My nexus 6 is not rooted
Does anybody else notice that battery life on this 12.1 is horrid?? I'm on the May update and man oh man it seems like I've got to stay close to a power source to charge this thing.
Yeah, same here, unfortunately.
Before that it was the phone with the best battery life I've ever got.

Yea I'm not sure what happened there but there's gotta be something behind the scenes killing it.
"Google" app is draining the battery.
Remove update and never update it again or just disable it will help
