Hey everybody, I am new to the n1 forums. I was hoping to find the most updated rom which features wifi calling, as I have no signal at my house and rely on wifi calling. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Edit: currently on kang cm7

Flash the wifi calling zip by unforgivien in the dev section. You will need to free up some system rom space for it to work. All the info is in that thread.
I flashed it and followed all the directions on the thread. Got confirmation for successful flash. I see the wifi calling app is installed, but when I run it I only get a black screen. I used the same zip when I first got my n1 which had a very out dated cm on it already. It worked on the old version but not the new. My hunch is a build prop change. I will try flashing it again over kang. I'll report back. Thank you for your response.

I flashed it again. No luck. Bummer I really liked that rom.

How much system rom did you have prior to flashing it?

I received the SGH-i957 for work and they told us not to add any weird apps. What I want to do is remove some the crappy AT&T apps to use less resources. I have rooted an EVO 4g and a HTC Arrive Windows Phone as well as my old HTC Touch Diamond. I have been reading the different threads and I am just curious what you guys think the best method is?
It really doesn't use more resources

I appreciate your response but I would still like to root it.

If your work said to not mess with apps then I wouldn't really root it.
If you don't care about that, then just follow the rooting thread. I personally like the kernel root method

I will go into more detail I guess. I want to backup how they gave it to me and run it custom, be it remove apps or a new rom. I am worried about some kind of privacy issues. With my HTC Evo 4g I could backup the original rom completely and then uninstall programs or install a new rom.

Flash twrp and make a nandroid backup then do your root process.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using xda premium
Yeah, I am definitely rooting it. It is ungodly slow with only a few programs on it and it keeps using at&t data even though I have removed all widgets and have very few apps installed. I know that know one wants to hear me say this but every time I use Android I dislike it more and more. I am sorry if I offend anyone.

Ok, I got permission from the boss to root and either clean up the stock rom, remove crap, or load a custom rom. So should I just follow the guide in this and if I have to run a custom rom use the on in this thread. Do I have to use the twrp and nandroid backup to make a backup? Or can I restore the stock rom buy using Method 2 after I follow the Method 1 in the root guide?

I'm pretty tired right now but I will detail it out for you tomorrow. I need to make some edits to that thread. Mainly to include new links and to include twrp.

Thanks for your help man. I want you to know you are not just helping me.
Hi all ViperVivo user's, if you are using this Rom you know how fantastic it is, the dev's have really outdone themselves. One issue was hotspot wouldn't work, but many roms have this issue when they first come out. After trying all the suggested fixes it still wasnt working for me, but I finally got it to work. This is what I did.
Format all partitions except sd card.
Install ViperVivo Rom.
Used the clean install option in setup.
After complete install wipe cache and delvik codes.
Install redux .3.
Then install redux .7 for 4.1 sense.
Yes all steps so far was suggested in the ViperVivo thread, however it still would not work for me.
So I then went to market installed wireless tether for root users.
Then I changed the settings inside the app to suit my device.
First I changed my device profile to generic ics/jb (wlan0).
Then changed setup method to netd-ndc (master)
Then choose your channel and security and ssid.
And it worked for me.
Hope this helps some of you.

No worries bud. Let me know how you go. Oh you have to teather via the app, don't try it in the phone settings it will still come up with error. Could everyone who tries it let me know how it goes pls.

Could people pls tell me whether it works for them, or thank me if it works. I want to make sure it wasn't just a freak incident, because if it was I will still work on the issue to try and solve it for you.

The method works perfectly. Can tether now!
All you have to do is search for "wireless tether for root users" either in google itself or in google apps store and it comes right up.

Thank you to all those who took the time to reply, it is very much appreciated. So far I have received no negative feedback, so it looks like my system works.
Don't forget to thank me if I have helped you. I'm trying to build my profile up.

THXX
so are there any method for stock users to apply?
or it must use redux kernel?
really appreciate your method:good:
You must have root, no root and and the app won't work. Also you shouldn't be having issues with a stock Rom, you sure Rom is correct Rom for phone?

Hi all. So I've just unlocked the bootloader on my Cricket HTC Desire C. But when I try to install Superboot, it just reboots and stays stuck on the HTC logo with a message. "This build is for development purposes only". Can anyone help me?

r1 superboot splash screen
1. Was the phone operating and in use after you rooted it with r1_Superboot?
2. Have you installed Superboot and installed a ROM without rebooting the system or wiping caches/data etc?
3. Have you installed a Custom Recovery?
4. Have you ensured you have read through guides before flashing? I ask this with only -*1*- posting it does not bode well!
A quick google search and 3 pages in you find -> https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=26&cad=rja&ved=0CEsQFjAFOBQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D2305429%26page%3D2&ei=KvyuUr_dJ4OAhAftnIDABw&usg=AFQjCNGgxlojZOIPXesuQTzy0TOM7dCwBw&bvm=bv.57967247,d.bGQ Go back to Thread Start and post #6 leads you to a good guide -> {{READ the whole thread as there may be more up to date info than my quick search }} http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947613
If after trying to access HBOOT, flash a recovery, flash a ROM does not work you will have to see about flashing a DIAG image {extreme case}
The key is Cricket. try this thread, very hard to find... http://www.cricketusers.com/cricket-htc-desire-c/85095-root-new-post.html
Anything here in XDA is not for the Cricket, don't try.
I have not done anything except unlocking the bootloader.

Ok guys. I have come up with a method to install 4.4.2 international and T-Mobile ROMs without ADB.
I am using some stuff from @drakeymcmb and @Hashcode
I however need some help.
I will not be doing a tutorial yet because this is not complete.
I used EchoeROM from the International section. It boots and runs fine for the most part.
Bugs I can't figure out how to fix but have ideas for based on fixes from the AT&T S4.
Wi-Fi will not turn on. (I will need @Hashcode to help with that.)
Using the ATT PTA apns works, but is shoddy with LTE.
I ran into one random reboot when opening messaging. Didn't happen after it booted up again.
If you guys could give me a hand. I and the community would love you.
THIS IS NOT AND MAY NEVER BE A FINAL METHOD. DO NOT ASK FOR ETA's. AS OF RIGHT NOW, THIS IS ONLY A PROOF OF CONCEPT.
Reserved for screen shots showing proof.

Thanks.
It involves a combo of Odin and safe strap. Basically the exact process for XRom and Knoxraid. I have not seen any posts or topics about it.so I am fairly confident that we can work together to get more ROMs on our device.

OK guys. Waking up first then gathering all the files/links together for this install method for my one and only tester. I need more testers though. If you are willing to put this install method to the test, please PM me.
This is a warning. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DEVICE. If you choose to be a tester, that is all on you. Make sure you have a full backup of both your internal and external SD cards somewhere on your computer. I again am not responsible if you lose important data. Make sure that you do this now while I prepare to put this out for testers and testers only.
Right now, you should also download an International 4.4.2 ROM that does not use Aroma for install. I used the EchoeRom for my test.
I would like anyone that wants to test for me to be ready so that we can speed up this process.
Sent from my Nexus 7 2013 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Files are almost ready for distro. I ran into a problem while testing so I need to extract some stuff from KnoxRaid and build a flashable zip file to be used in SS and package it with the files I will have the testers download. I also realized that you will wipe the internal SD card so MAKE A BACKUP. Any files to be flashed via Safestrap need to be on the External SD.

I just cannot get Wifi or NFC to turn on... I have tried building an update package to flash with SS, but it doesn't help... I am going to try a few more things and test some more. I know you guys want this, but I want it working on my end before I start sending it out.
Did you get it to work?
I can only get the ROM to boot...
NFC and wifi will not turn on. I have tried multiple different routes to get them functional, but to no avail. I'm gonna take a break for a bit. Clear my mind and try again. I need a package to fix those and to help save time with setup a package to flash the correct LTE APNs to the phone so users don't have to input them manually.
