Just curious, is there an app that automatically puts the phone on vibrate when it senses the proximity sensor. I want the phone to automatically go into vibrate only mode when its in my pocket and come out of it when I take it out. Thanks.

I think tasker might be able to do this, but i'm not 100% sure.
Any others?

Does anyone know is there any wifi apps that would connect automatically when you get in range? I gotta make this as easy as possible for my wife.
TIA

It already should connect to any wifi you have setup. No app needed.

When I am driving I cannot get it to tell me who is calling or read my texts. It is enabled.
Anyone else have this issue?

No issues with mine. Did you try going to apps and clearing data? This may fix your problem.
Make sure gps is on also, touchless control requires a GPS signal, big brother is here

Yeah my gps is always on. Does it read incoming texts to you or tell you who's calling?

Have you checked off receiving text in the assist app?

Do you have a bluetooth enabled radio in the car? For me unless you're listening to bluetooth audio you won't hear it because it treats the radio like it's a headset.
No its turned on. How weird.

That seems to do the trick, but then aren't I missing out on that feature? Say if I'm in the shower?
Kind of sad that's the only place left to get away from the leash... before I retired I bought a lake house that got no pager (remember those? ) or cell service just to get away.

Not to be a jerk but this should have been posted in Q&A section. But anyhow it sounds lije your proximity sensor may be bad. Open your phone app and press menu button to access settings if you cant figure it out I would just backup all the data with Kies 3 or whatever and do a factory reset

Haven't tried a reset, bbut download this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tigermonster.proxfinder and am getting readings for 0 and 8cm (no intermediate) as well as time covered.
So not really sure what to do next. Reset might be only way.

Try this:
Go to- Settings
My device
Call
Turn off screen during calls.
There should be a check next to it. Try turning it off & on again.
Be aware things change if you're using bluetooth...
Hope this helps.

OK thanks trying this now. I've un-ticked rebooted and will re enable then reboot again.
Ok done no joy, will hard resetting the device really work its a pain to set it backup again

Ok thought i would try something after reading elsewhere that dust can effect it quite easily. I have an otterbox defender. Guess what, no problems at all when phone is naked.
Case closed! Ill just have to "deal with it" as they say!

That sounds like your case was blocking the proximity sensor on the front of your device
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using xda app-developers app
Yup thats what i discovered. It doesnt directly block it but the presence of the case close to the sensor must be creating some confusing for it.
