Hi Experts,
I am looking for kernel which support Clockworkmod (CWM) or 2e recovery for my Galaxy S i9000
Build Number = FROYO.NEJP5
Please help me to figure it out how/where can I download the kernel for this?
Thank you!
First things first, I'd come off that firmware and on to a universal copy of Froyo, and secondly if you wanna stay with that firmware, then speedmod kernel will work Google search for touristinparadise then the download links will all be their for you dudedude

Can you please tell me what is meaning of JF2 and JFB?
There carrier releases of android, switch to (froyo JPY, JPU etc) or gingerbread (JVK, JVB, JVP etc) then you'll have more of a variety

Afaik the stock kernels are in the firmware packages that you can get from SamFirmware.com
exactly. kernel is a part of the PDA file in the stock firmware.
I know that. But i do not want reinstall everything after an odin update. I just need the kernel. I know you can extract it but i do not know how.

hey guys please help
i just flashed cyngemond 7 on my sgs gti9000 international
using this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061946
but now i want to go back to darky JVP custom rom i kindda liked it more
so my quesiton is do i need to do anything befor flashing via odin ?
do i have to disable lag fixs ? or anything like that ?
or just connect my phone to odin and flash the rom ?
thanks in advance guys
I'd say go back to 10.1 RE then go JVP from there. Having your lag-fix off is probably a good idea but apparently isn't needed if you're using Odin.
T there is no lagfix as such, cm7 uses yaffs file system as standard,

Hello to everybody.I have a Hybrid 2.0 XXJVR Rom and Galaxian EE kernel and i want to test F1 Galaxy S2-SP1 Rom which is based on XXJVQ.Do i have to install XXJVQ to test it or is done from XXJVR straight away? Thanks in advance!!!
If you want to use a custom rom that is gingerbread, you need to be running gingerbread for the bootloader. Same for FroYo.
Gingerbread > gingerbread
Froyo > froyo

so are you saying that i can?because in the F1 post says to flash XXJVQ rom first. Thanks for the reply!
If the post says to flash a certain firmware first, do it. The dev knows best.

Hi all,
I am wondering if someone will be able to clarify for me.
I have got the Darky 10.2.2 final and I want to install the Latest JVS from SamFirmware.
Will this okay or will this be dangerous? I just want to put it back to Stock and then root it using chainFire CF "Our Legend".
I am planning to just flash on top of the current Darky on the Phone.
Hope this make sense.
I am using ODIN and I have got JIG for download mode.
Thanks guys.
I went from Darky 10.2 to JVS (and then semaphore kernel) no problems..
I had no need to use a jig.

Thanks for the reply.
I am not too familiar with I9000.
Do i need to install the ext4 from CF afterwards? For the lag fix?
Reason i ask is because i noticed that CF has the addon file available for download.
Cheers
It's always a good idea to revert to rfs before flashing a new firmware (in case the kernel doesn't support ext4; i don't think stock jvs does).
Otherwise shouldn't be a problem
Flashed stock rom with pit included. Now using latest. Seems to be ojay. Dont think i will need lag fix
Cheers

I flashed to stock on my captivate, and this version doesn't appear to have the option to install from unknown sources (unlike in froyo and above). I need this in order to install clockwork mod. Can anyone help me? (I cannot access the free version on my version of stock market)
Why not upgrade to GB 2.3.5 i897ucKK4 ? (see the Master Collection of Stock Rom One Clicks stickied thread in the Dev Forum)
Or if u r just tryin to flash a Dev Rom, see TRusselo's flashing Guide that is a stickied thread in the Q & A Forum.
