Hi,
I am a newbie on Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi (P1010). I want to sort my applications from A to Z, but I can't do. How can I sort applications?
Try a different launcher app. I use ADW Launcher, which automatically sorts the apps in the app drawer into alphabetical order. Otherwise, what launcher are you using? The default is most likely Touch Wiz.
Get 'appzorter for touchwiz' from the market. It will sort the apps.free version works fine.

I start using Appzorter for Touchwiz and it is good!

I apologize if this has all ready been asked. I did a search and nothing came up for the NC. This is my first Android device and I'm new here, take pitty
Anyway, I managed to download several apps from the Android Market but have no idea how to find/use them?
Did you install them, or just download them?
Did you install a launcher (ie. LauncherPro, ADW, etc)?
If you installed the apps, and you have a launcher, then they should be in your app drawer. You can get that by using the app drawer button on your launcher's home screen. Tapping the app drawer button should bring up all of your apps -- including both the market and stock nook apps.
I think I just downloaded the apps. You don't install them while in the market, right? If that's the case then I definitely just downloaded them. One of the apps I downloaded is a launcher that most everyone seems to like on this board, zeam I think it's called. Of course now I have no idea how to find it, or any of the other apps I got. Using it would be nice
Check your app drawer (the icon in the middle of the row of icon on your home screen). It is likely that, if you used the Android market, you installed the apps. That is the normal function when looking at market apps.
Cheers,
kev
Ok, I think I got it. I somehow managed to start zeam and I can access everything ells from there. Thanks for the help guys
tried searching for this but couldnt it so pls bear with me...
I just autonootered my nc last night and installed my paid apps from google. How do i find these apps besides searching for them? I noticed that I can't make folders or find the icons to drop on the home screen. Thanks in advance.
If you didn't already, try installing a launcher app like ADW launcher or Zeam. That should allow you to do what you want. Otherwise, if you reboot, you should see your apps show up under the Extras section.

thanks a million.. figured it had to be something simple lol
I am using 2.3.3
the mobile is always out of memory and restart the launcher except the original one
after playing games, internet browsing or youtube, the launcherpro must be restarted
Anyone can help to solve this?
Are apps running in the background?

Try using GO launcher EX instead. . . In the app drawer there is an option to clear all background apps that are not being used. Or you can also go to each app in settings >applications and force close those background apps though it is tedious. Both work for me.

Good afternoon to you all here at XDA,
Until recent I have had no problems with any on my devices when it comes to exploiting and unlocking them but today I started to play around with my girlfriends KFHD and have now run into a few snags.
For now I would like to focus on the Home key function.
I have just installed ADW Launcher EX and after setting it all up, discovered that the home key just takes me back to the stock Kindle Home screen. Is there anyway in which I can set my home key to be default to ADW rather than stock so it will load my ADW's default screen?
Side note: I know you can use Go Launcher EX which I use with my phone but I don't fancy messing around, adding this app to the system folders and the device has a locked bootloader and not mine.
Any help is much appreciated,
Thanks for your time,
Madrox.
I believe the device needs to be rooted. So you can convert the launchers apk file to a system app.
Once it's a system app, you can set it as the default launcher and the home button will work like you want it to.

Thanks for that,
The device is rooted and everything is unlocked and ready to go apart from the Bootloader.
I have seen the /system/app approach but do not want to try it as I cant find out if it is safe on 7.2.2. I've only seen this done on earlier versions and as said device is not mine and I have no Factory Cable, I won't be trying that just yet.

I just set ADW Launcher as systam App with 7.2.2. I had to : as user app it wasn't working at all, All seems to be all right with my tablet. Only, I can' t use widgets and wallpapers - don't know why - while with 7.1.2 they worked perfectly.
Hope to be of some reassurance for you
Tested with GO Launcher EX 3.13 after reading other posts. After messing around half the day with other things, I never actually noticed this post was similar to another about Launchers so this is now a closed matter.

I'm using ADW Launcher on my rooted Fire. Because the "favorites" star from the stock launcher still shows up, I'd like to make it useful. I can run the "Home" launcher to add things to favorites, but that only works for apps that actually show up in the stock Kindle launcher.
The app for which this is the biggest problem is the Amazon Kindle app (the one from the Play store), which I installed because of the well-known problems with using the stock bookreader with a different launcher.
Does anyone know of a good way to "force" an app like that into the Kindle's favorites? Ideally, I'd love a solution that would let me easily populate the favorites without having to run "Home".
