If you don't care about froyo the best rom on the battery life side is surely the stock rom 2.38 (released for italian and spain market) and the derivatives custom roms.
With a bit of overclock and the jit dalvik it is also damn fast.
thanks for the fast feedback
what about CM6 , ice & fire , HO NO rom.......
they are also fast and stable. but some people still argues about it having a 'better battery life' (no oofence to kabaldan, iceandfire and HO!NO!)

They are all nice, and full of features but the battery life is still a lot of shorter than eclair 2.38, and this becouse the control on the involved part of sw is still in the hands of motorola.
ok thanks
lets ignore the matter of battery life
in general which one is the best ?
sorry for bothering u
many regards

You should try yourself because is a matter of personal needs and preferences, I'm usually use froyomod or cm6 they are both nice and packed with useful options
Telus v5. It may still be based on 2.1 but its damn stable and plenty fast, battery can last long if u downclock it slightly. Non of the quirks you read about from unofficial 2.2 ROMs.

I've tested Ice&Fire and its really great, fast & bettary is v. good. (best visual)
I'm using now CM 6.1.2 latest eddition as its using the latest leaked Kernal; peformance is great with no problem at all.
I liked more the FroyoMod 2.3 (also using latest leaked kernal), great one with the new Google goodies.
I switched between FroyoMod & CM 6.1.2 due to Arabic lang. testing
Good Luck

I'd advise you to consider CyanogenMod by ivendor RC2.5 + CIT v11 kernel (or stock). Works great for me. You may take a look: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2000828
Hope it's helpful

Ooops My bad.
Well, CyanogenMod 10.1 for I9000 is even much more better then for I9001. It is way more stable, cause it's supported by Cyanogen Team officialy. Check their thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2039755
Also you can try MIUI. Great work. I was satisfied to have it on my I9001. I am sure it is better for I9000 (officially supported). Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1548796&highlight=miui
I agree with memokwf. Also, Slim Bean (4.1.2 or 4.2.2) are good choices. Fast, light (although you will need to flash in another file for email, its easily downloadable from their site though) and pretty damn good battery life as well.

[Q] JB Rom for i9000 without bugs, fully stable?

As in title, i'm looking for the most stable rom around based on jelly bean and bug-free.
i need something goood, with everything working out-of-the-box; nothing aesthetically special, even a pure google style would be okay (indeed, it'd be much better).
thanks in advance for your kind help!

CM10.1.3 recent RC build (pawitp's thread). Battery life maybe won't be great, but the build is excellent.
Meanwhile CM10.2 works for some people perfectly well (like for myself), but for some others not. It is even faster and gives about double battery life than the CM10.1x
Check threads by the developer pawitp
(if you flash CM10x, pay attention to flash compatible gapps for that android(x) version right after the CM build, it isn't mentioned in the first post anymore for some reson)
thanks for your clear answer, when i'll be ready to change rom i'll follow your suggestions!
Meanwhile, i'd really like to get s3\s4 icons on my gingerbread value pack...can you suggest me a mod for this purpose? i digged through tens of pages here in xda but i didn't find anything for my firmware

There's always launchers and icon packs for them...
As far as I'm aware there's no S3/S4 icon pack for stock roms and the stock launcher alone, however there is a complete S3 theme (it goes beyond the icons and themed everything else) for two GB custom roms out there..

The best thing would be to check it for yourself. Every phone is different, something that behaves well here could work different on your device.
Thanks krzysiekx,
I´ve already tried those three ROM and could not find any differences regarding stability, that´s why i´m asking for other mentions in this thread. Maybe other user have had some differences in stability. But thank you for your answer anyway... :good:

I had CM 10.x on Semaphore 2.7 kernel when I first bought my phone and it was great, everything was smooth and I had no battery problems. Now I installed CM 10.2 last RC version and it was quite battery consuming and laggy on my SGS
No Rom is fully SD stable but i suggest cm10.1 (nearly perfect for me)

Boys, and why don't you like "I scream send witch?"
Indeed i was both curious for the newest versions of android and for the most stable (AND light) rom around...i refuse to do one step forward if i have to stop at ICS, it doesn't give me more than what i got on GB
@ everybody: i searched for s3\s4 icons packs but i didn't find anything relevant. now i'm using a deodexed rom based on 2.3.6 value pack...links would be muc appreciated

As far as stability is concerned, with speed and good battery performance, I've found Cyanogenmod ROM's to be the best. But you will find a bunch of other ROMs here that might be more what you're after

You can try
cm9
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2619282
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2409566
and cm7
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2205100
for me cm 7 is the fastest for our phone but I'm OK with those cm9.

[Q] Android Rom with good batterylife and performance

Could someone please recommend a rom that has good batterylife, and does not have the lag of some of the newer android roms? I am open to any rom that is 4.0 or later. Thanks

Very easy to follow thread with several ideas, I currently use the CM11 rom by Jcsullins, very very good battery life.
