Hi!
I'm looking for a protective skin for my Xperia. I bought SGP Shield but i don't like the body protection because there are a lot of spaces between the panels, and the phone may scratch easily in some places (specialy the chromed parts).
Did anyone installed the Skinomi TechSkin? In their pic it seems that it will cover better the phone without any space left uncovered.
Skinomi: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B002L9FDPK/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=301185&s=wireless
SGP: http://mojel98.cafe24.com/eb-allcra...son_xperia_x1_incredible_shield2_contents.gif
The screen protector from SGP is impressive. I like it.
Thanks in advance!
I don't have it, but please post if you get it. I would like something that covers just the chrome, as that seems to be the most delicate part of the phone, and covering it won't affect the aluminum feel of the phone.
Let us know how the TechSkin fares!
If it's the same one that I have, then it is the best screen protector out there. Reason I'm not sure if it's the same as mine is because it was advertized differently when i got it. On ebay it was called the clear protector for xperia without the brand name you mentioned. The only similarity between the two is the fact that the skin cuts are exactly the same. because my phone is covered in all the areas and the one you posted matches that. if they mention that the protector material is the same stuff they use to line helicopter propellers, then it's the same stuff and i would highly recommend them.
Thank you! I have ordered this product. I'll post when it arrives over 3-4 weeks, and tell you what I think about it.
Cheers!

Yup, same one: Skinomi
I'm interested in the full skinned body to protect my X1, but I'm not too sure because I'm afraid of how it will end up looking. I saw a Fuze with it and if you looked closely, you could see clearly the skin lines on the sides. Is there any possibility that you could post some close up pics as to know how it looks like?
Thanks in advance!
Oh! And hows is the feel to it with the skin? Is it too glossy that the original fuze?
Thanks!!
Sorry I'm replying so late.
Well, I removed the skin from my X1 (I'm planning on buying the black housing since I have silver), so all that's on it is the screen and the battery cover. I can say confidently that it feels great. If your hands are moist, you can slide your fingers across it. Same goes for if your hands are dry. It doesn't feel cheap. And it won't stick to the sides in your pocket, you can pull it out smoothly with no trouble. If I ever get around to posting a pic, I'll do so. Cosmetically, you can't really tell it's there from a glance. Up close you can see it, but it's not all too different from an X1 without it.

I have ordered it some 3 weeks ago. It should arrive any day now. I've also ordered the leather pouch from noreve. I hope that I'll install the Skinomi only in extreme cases .
Cheers!
Skinomi installed and not worth of it
Its true that its improve the protection but lacks of stay on phone, its separates more day after day from the surface of the x1 if you puts the x1 inside a cover or in a pouch without mention the risk that you have to "WET" the skinomi to apply in on the phone! i had to get a hairdrier with me LOL. I not recommend this.

Thanks. I've bought my Skinomi TechSkin, and also a Noreve leather pouch. I don't need the Skinomi TechSkin anymore, so I can't communicate you the results.
Cheers!
Are these scratch-proof made of military helicopter blade material like the protech & Zagg shields?
Hi, I'm new to xda but I'm looking for advice from the veteran users.
Can you please tell me what the best clear protectors are for Omnia i8000? I've heard a few names from friends but their opinions are divided. Which do you use and would you buy it again?

I bought the screen protector am am quite happy with it.It's not mushy and sticky.
The price is right.
For phone protection I bought a heavy duty case by "NiteIze",I'm (or was) in construction.

I have a full body protector from gadgetshieldz for my Omina. It was pretty cheap when I compare it to the Bodyguardz one I got for my Hero but I don't think its any worse for that. The installation was simple, I got the bubbles out with a card and the rest was smooth sailings.
The thing that bugged me with BOdyguardz was the additional shipping charges they asked for even after they said they'd give free replacements for a lifetime. I just won't go back to them because I thought it was a pretty cheap demand that I mail the damaged skin back to them and then pay shipping charges for the new one as well...why in Gods name shouldn't I just buy this $7 skin and be done with it instead of going through all the hassle. The deal with them is to pay them four times the amount for a new skin and then $5 for each 'free' replacement. Absurd, eh?
As you can see, I got two reviews and I'm not going back to one of them.
I am looking for a full body skin for my bionic. A case will not work since I will be using the lapdock.
I have checked these sites with no luck.

I know skinomi has one but it does not look like it wraps around the sides of the phone. Has anyone used this brand before with any luck?

i LOVE skinomi, use them for all my screen protectors (Best screen protectors FACT haha). As far as skins, they offer great value for getting the back skin combo.
You are correct though, it will not cover the sides though. I have the carbon fiber on the back of my iPad2, it is nice because it is textured..
I think you are better off waiting for skinit for a wrapping skin honestly, it should be any day now they add it
I found this skin and have ordered it. Will let you know how it goes.

My Ghost Armor guy says they should be in by September 16th, 23rd at the latest. He did a custom cut for me to tide me over. They do decent work.
These are the best skins ive ever used. had one on my Droid Incredibe and on my Droid X. Crystal clear and tough as nails. a little pricey but worth it in my opinion.

I just got this skin today and it does wrap the entire phone for the most part. there are very few small parts of the battery door that are exposed after the installation but other than that its coverage is pretty full.
I didn't do a perfect job on it but I got it to a point that I thought it was close enough and stopped playing with it and called it a day.
I am new so I could not leave the link up in your quote, but this is the exact skin that you linked to in your original post.

It's the Skinomi black carbon fiber skin for the Bionic that the you linked to in the first post. I'm just so new that I couldn't leave the link in the quote.
I bought it off Amazon though (it's still sold by Skinomi) but it's only $18.95 there.
As I can't post links yet, you can just go to amazon and search for "skinomi black carbon bionic" (without the quotes). Only one complete match result should come up in the results and that's the one I bought.
Zagg Skins
I am sold on Zagg Skins. Great screen protectors that you install with fine liquid spray and soft squeegee in order to place screen protector exactly where you want it. I have even peeled it off and ran warm water over it six months later and reinstalled it.
They also have there own selection of skins but if you want a custom skin you can use their software to upoad graphics and resize, use transparency, rotate etc.
I beleive their warranty is 90 days, full replacement.

Wow, I really like that one. I looked at your pictures, and then went right to Amazon to order it!
Just an FYI, this is how the skin comes in the package so you can see that it comes with the pieces to cover the edges as well.

The skin itself is custom cut for the regular battery cover. It is not cut for the bigger battery so when you try to install it it's a little small at the "battery bump, and all of the sides and bottom of the battery cover. However, if you are patient, you can work it with some heat and stretch it to the appropriate size.
I did this as a guinea pig as I had an extra skin. I was hoping the difference would only be about as drastic as Droid X2's extended vs standard battery cover at most when I bought the skins blind, but I was wrong.
With that said, I have noted I am not the best at putting these things on. If you have a lot of patience you can probably do a better job than I did if you need to use a standard Skinomi skin on an extended battery cover. This install for the back took me about 45 minutes working at it slowly so it would fit as well as it could.
So it's your judgement call. My install is not the best but it proves that it is possible to make the skin fit the extended battery cover if you are willing to work at it for a while. If not, you can wait for someone to make a skin specially designed for the extended battery cover.
Good luck for those of you who are willing to give it a shot, just be patient and leave your frustrations at the door.

Incidentally, Optishieldz is offering a Carbon Fiber skin designed for the Extended battery cover. It is only $14.95 however it does not cover the sides of the phone, just the back battery cover.

Unfortunately dbrand doesnt make any skins. Any alternatives?
Depending on how soon you want it. I'm just about to launch a site selling skins. I have the lgg2 so of course I have them. We only do the back because we think the fronts look a bit tacky. The site is www.fire-flex.co.uk. Sign up now and join our social media and you can grab a discount. We will probably be selling and fully running in 3 ish weeks. Some pics attached. We have made them slightly better since the photos, we go straight to the edge
Xgear eXoskin is the only one I've found that wraps around the sides. Others, like the guy above and SlickWraps, leave the edges almost completely exposed. If you're ok with that, there's a lot of options. I used a SlickWrap for a period of time. I only wanted a skin to mask that stupid glossy finish but leaving the sides uncovered defeats that purpose. It still feels greasy and I'm absolutely detests the feel of greasy, glossy plastic. Having exposed sides really makes the slight greasy side surfaces stand out given the juxtaposition to the more matte skin.
Here's my post in the Slickwraps thread. It's got pictures of the skin and the sides. I might have taken pictures of the eXoskin but I can't find them. Take my word for it, do not buy any skin that doesn't have side coverage–unless you actually enjoy greasy, glossy plastic and want to be touching it all the time. Then you probably shouldn't even buy a skin.
We have made adjustment to our final sizing and have made the effort to fit the skin to meet the silver band that runs along the edge. At the top and the bottom you can only go so far as the bend in the case is to drastic. As the LGG2 is my phone of choice I have put a lot of effort into a good fit. I have attached some more photos that (try to) show where the vinyl meets the edge. We are ready to accept orders now. So i'd just like to say if you register an account with the site you will receive a 15% discount on your orders!! You can find us @ www.fire-flex.co.uk

What is different with edge to edge with case friendly?
The screen coverage is scratch proof? ant scatter like tempered glass?
out of liquid and bubbles
Hi PhantomSkinz. A question about full body skin (Ultra Clear) and back skin : I've some bubbles on side and I'm out of liquid provided in package. What kind of liquid i can use ?
For community : for 1 pack full body you got 2 fronts skins
PhantomSkinz Guru said:
The edge to edge screen protector covers virtually the entire glass. The case friendly screen protector would cover a little less of the edges for those who want to use our screen protectors in combination with a bulky case such as an otterbox. This reduced coverage would prevent the edges of the case from rubbing on the screen protector which can cause it to peel up.
Our screen protectors are self-healing which prevents them from getting minor scratches. You can see what I mean by taking a look at the video below. The heat accelerates the natural self-healing process.
I'm not sure what you mean by "anti scatter"? If you mean anti-shatter. Then yes, our screen protectors themselves would not crack or shatter as they are not made from glass, but rather a flexible polymer.

Ok understand....too bad shipping fee is more expensive than the clear type skin to Malaysia:crying:
PhantomSkinz Guru said:
You can use just water if you only need it to fix a small area. Or even just peel the skin up dry and press it back down if it is a small area, as long as you don't touch the adhesive side. Also keep in mind that if they are very small air bubbles or water bubbles from the initial installation, they will typically clear up within 24 hours or so. If you'd like to send me a DM with some pictures of the problem area, I can provide some suggestions.
---------- Post added at 12:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:00 PM ----------
Yes we know the international shipping costs are quite expensive. Unfortunately that is just what it costs us to send a package halfway around the world (it actually costs us more than what we charge because we add insurance as well). We ship everything as a package (not a letter) in order to reduce lost orders and to provide real tracking numbers for our customers. For people who are able to order multiple items, we do offer free international shipping on orders $69.95 USD or more. Unfortunately we know that is quite expensive as well, but that is the best we are able to offer at this time. Remember all of our phone kits also include 2 screen protectors.
We really wish we were able to provide a more affordable, reliable shipping option for international orders.
