Update - LG Optimus 2x

When i try to update through setting -phone -software update it says "connection failed caused by authenticateon error " anybody know how to fix this?
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App

You can't fix that as far as I know. FOTA update worked for me in the past.

I have changed two different stock roms and it still happeneds

Maybe your provider is the problem.

In some old firmwares, the FOTA updates don't work.

I had 0405 now 2206 and its same, then it must be operator

It's the operator... With my operator OTA updates were disabled, I had the same error message.
One reason more to escape from stock Rom...

Thank you again.
I mean from now on every time I remove the battery the date will be resetted to 2007 before the update via wifi?
Open LG updater, recover phone by imei, then you'll get the latest firmware update available and at the same time your phone will be scanned and repaired. You might have to downgrade baseband before doing this, don't remember it. And you have to re root and flash cwm after the recovery/updater finish

No way.
I flashed bb 10D then launched LG Mobile Tool, selected emergency recovery, inserted imei, it updated to 20S but no firmware update and after battery removal date is always 2007.

Try to do a fresh flash again...

Delete apk
Make it a system app
Change properties
If its still not working, reflash
I am a potato, problem?
It seems you flashed a modified mms.apk which wasnt meant for your baseband.
Thanks all of you solved

Can't find OTA update

Hi! I've been trying to download the OTA update on my phone but it stays on:
"Checking for available update.
Please wait..."
Anyone knows why? My phone is rooted by the way and bootloder is unlocked. Please help.
Sent from my MB886 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
When the device is rooted and is running stock ROM, the OTA updates are not working properly on most devices. For example, in my Galaxy Y, when I tried to install a new firmware it stopped during the installation and rebooted on the old firmware. Then it displayed the known s*** like "The installation was not succesfull. Please try installing the firmware using Kies".
Otherwise, if your device is running a Custom ROM, you can update to the newest version without a problem.

Ok. Thanks for answering. What if I unroot the device? Is it possible the update works if I unroot the device?
Sent from my MB886 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you unroot your device, you will be able to install a new firmware on it. Are you using stock or custom ROM?

OK then. The solution is on the post 5. Unroot the device, install the new firmware and you can root the phone again if you want.
