Your phone shouldn't be stuck at bootloader when you're flashing a ROM. Go into recovery and wipe both caches and apply the update then reboot.

I just used RSD Lite v4.9 to flash GOT 2.2.1 on my phone. It works fine and rooted with GOT's OR. Then I wanted to try and apply the cm7 update and I have gone though all the steps listed in all the various guides but when I reboot the phone it will first go strait into recovery mode, stock, and another restart will get me stuck on the M. Does this mean my sbf is bad? I have tried different cm7 .zip files for the milestone with no luck.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
Have you made factory reset?

I have a Milestone. I flashed a CyanogenMod rom to it the other day. The Rom worked but after a day I decided to go back to Telus Lite V4. Unfortunately now every time I flash a new Rom, no matter what it is, it jus shows the booting animation forever. The only time I can flash it and have it work is to flash an SBF. Even then it will be glitchy. I don't know whats going on. I am wiping everything between flashes, dalvik, cache, system. Everything. I tried the Telus Lite again and it does the same thing, boot animation. Anyone know what may be the issue? And or how to fix it. I want to go back to Telus Lite V4 again. Thank you in advance.
the stock roms from here for Milestone
http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone
try it.
I am flashing the stock SBF for Telus now. Should I then go and reflash from a stock/ Hope this helps the issue. Thank you for the assist. Will let you know how it goes
K, I flashed a stock SBF and then flashed the vulnerable recovery file. I let the sbf boot up and finalize everything. I then went and wiped everything and reflashed the Telus Lite V4 nandroid. It works but I get f/c on the android market constantly. I tried to adb push the android market back into the phone and rebooted, and it still f/c's on me. Any other suggestions? Thanks again.
I Never tried it.
Can you refer back to its thread in the development section, mostly you'll find similar cases.

Got everything resolved. Had to flash a stock rom, then do the vulnerable recovery flash. From there everything worked fine. Thank you to all for you assistance.

PS. I have reflashed a stock firmware, then gone back through the steps to do the custom recovery. I have then tried to reflash the Telus Lite V4 and all I get is f/c on the anddroid market. Adb pushing a newer market apk does nothing, still constant f/c. Any help would be greatly appreciated
which open recovery that you use...? androidiani 3.3 very recommended....
I have been swapping between the androiani and G.O.T
Hi guys,
I just need some short advise:
My dad flashed CM10 nightly a few days ago.
Before that he had a stock froyo rom (i don't know which version exactly) but with root and CWM.
Flashing CM10 worked but he had same bugs (baseband deleted, reboots every 10 minutes), so he flashed CM9 stable hopeing to get these things right. but it didn't, baseband was still gone. So he decided to restore his nandroid backup and go back to his froyo stock.
but that ended in a total disaster and the phone won't boot anymore. it is stuck at the white "Galaxy S" screen (before boot animation).
My dad said, that he tried to restore his backup a 2nd time. but he got many errors including "unknown volume for path /data"
He is a little bit frightened that he could brick his phone completely so he asked me for help.
Well, I don't know what to do besides flashing a stock gingerbread rom + kernel +baseband/modem with Odin.
Am I right with this? Or do you guys got some other advise for me.
thanks for help
try factory reset must done after restore
are you sure?
shouldn'd this be done before restore?
by doing a wipe, I would need to do 2 restors in order to keep my apps..
As the partition layout of CyanogenMod and stock are different, and thus stock partition layout is needed, you have to flash stock using Odin with pit512 and partition enabled. After that restore should work as well.
Besides: If baseband is missing in CM, try to flash a CM modem.

Galaxy S I9000 won't boot after cm10
Hi
Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I've searched, but have no phone now, it won't boot after installing CM10 28/12/2012. It was running, but I wanted to do a nand restore, it said it couldn't find the backup.
It now won't boot, it's stuck on the original Galaxy S GT-I9000 boot screen
This is really urgent (I know... like everything else)... can anyone help me PLEASE??
Thanks
Hi,
I think I bricked my phone very well. I used Odin to put some GB Kernel in order to be able to upgrade to JB. Later I got into recovery mode and cleaned cache and many other things, but was unable to wipe data\factory reset, from there it all went down. I tried fixing it using this guide, but it didn't help. I still can get into download mode, though. And sometimes even into recovery, but it gives me tones of errors.
What can I do? How do I fix it now???
Thanks in advance!
Fix:
Try to flash a stock GB rom with Odin.
Kernel/ Upgrade to JB
After that flash a rooted kernel. Try CF-Root or Semaphore Kernel.

flash rom first, find ur own firmware, then flash rom using odin, if ur pet kernel first, there will be no rom to reset.

Hi,
got one problem. hope im typing in right section.
Flashed my I9000 to 2.3.6 JVU plus CF-Root. Minutes later ive tried to flash Gamerzrom via CWM.
(done a full wipe / factory reset, wiped caches etc.).
After that Phone reboots and is stuck in a bootloop containing the Semaphore screen and i cannot
enter CWM again. I have to reinstall stock rom first and then root it again.
Dunno what im doing wrong at that point; am i using wrong kernel?
thanks in advance
that gamerzrom...2.3 or 4.2?
if u wanna flash to 4.x, need to flash cm9 first.flash twice, from 2.3 to cm9 to cm10.dont do shortcut please...
cm9 need to flash twice, bootloop will occur on first flash, use 3 button combo to go back to recovery, its da matter of releasing da 3 button, release it rite after u see da white sgs,if still cant, flash back firmware n redo step.
after flashing cm9, do not reboot, flash cm10 or gamerzrom, first flash will error, flash it back again n then reboot, do wipe everything except sd when in 2.3, and please...read first before asking
Hey guys, I flashed a Cyanogenmod nightly a month or so back that got my device stuck in bootloop and I'm just getting round to restoring it. I just tried WugFresh's Root Toolkit to Flash Stock + Unroot, according to the software it worked but my Nexus 7 won't boot from the bootloader at all now, not even into recovery. Are there any other methods I could try to flash a stock image?
SOLVED: I flashed an older factory image using WugFresh and that seemed to work *wipes sweat from forehead*

I am having exactly the same issue. Will you pls tell me where you got the factory image & what flash/install option/method you used in Wugfresh?
Thanks greatly.
EDIT: Found images at Google Developer site- just need to know how you flashed w/Wugfresh- which choice.
