On the stock Rom how do I go about making the phone use 3g only, sometimes under heavy tethering it just switches to 1x and will stay that way unrolled I reboot.
I'd like to see it this would stop it from doing that.

It's either in *#*#INFO#*#* or ##DATA# I believe... But if you have your phone stuck on 3g only mode I'm almost positive you won't get any texts. Just a heads up

Its #$3282# then evdo settings and select hdr mode. And kyouko is right u won't be able to receive texts/calls but you can send them.

Also u could try switching roaming to sprint only mode under settings that should help the 1x issue

I just had a question about abuot the 3G on my Captivate. I downloaded the app APNdroid to disable data. It worked fairly well, but yesterday I tried enabling data and my 3G wouldn't come on (and still won't). Any input?

Call ATT and have them send a signal to your phone. I had that happen when I would use APNdroid and I don't use it anymore.
Thanks Flashman

1x pisses me off, sometimes ill be doing something then it drops to 1x, well it can't go back to 3g until data stops. So I want 3g or nothing
Can this be done?
I seem to remember entering some special menu on d2g to do this but you had to do it every boot I think.

Will there ever be a way to switch between 3G and 4G without a reboot on this phone? I just got my daughter the HTC Rezound and it has that capability. I like to switch to CDMA only to save battery when I don't need 4g speed.

Try this, from you dialing menu type *#*#4636#*#* this brings you to a testing screen. Go into the phone info menu and towards the bottom you can select from several signal types that take effect within a few seconds.

When I type this and hit send it dials and says it cant be completed. Am I doing something wrong?
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA App
You shouldn't need to hit send. As soon as I enter the last "*" I am taken straight to the testing menu.
If this doesn't work there is an option in the Rezound's network settings.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
Yeah I can do it on the Rezound. I want to make the Revo do it.
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA App
I am unsure if the 4636 code doesn't work. I have read of people having com.android crashing trying to use it with the Revo

It would be nice if mt could work it into GV 1.4.

Are there any apps / widgets that can do this for you?
Not without a reboot.

I'm glad to see the Droid 4 can actually use full GSM now, but the option to use only CDMA seems to have disappeared.
I *like* my battery life, and I want to turn off LTE. How do I do this?
Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
Goto the Play Store and download an app called "Phone Info" and you can make all the switches you need.
Works great, thanks!

LTE thunderbolt on/off works as well. A little more direct than phone info with a reminder of which radio to switch between...

Is there an app or phone code in order to force phone to only run on lte on aosp and tw?
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
You can try *#2263#
I'm not sure if this works on TW lollipop

There is way to do that, even punching in numbers if it works at all, which
won't, would not do it, at best it would only TEST your LTE band to make
sure it's receiving the signal properly.
Good luck!

I would go for lte/gsm/auto or wcdma/gsm auto
This way you always have chance for fallback to gsm when needed
