[REQ] Revolution stock weather widget - LG Revolution

UPDATED:
Kudos for Mr. doc3000!!! He just sort me out for this issue. The weather widget from LG
Optimus UI 2 (include Optimus Black and Optimus Revolution) works smoothly now on my HTC
Hero GSM! (Rooted Elelinux-7.1-Hero-v3.6 Android 2.3.7) Thanks a million bro, you are the
man!
I've added some screenshots here. Everything, all 3 sizes widgets (4x1, 4x2, 4x3), all
animations, all functions are running like hell!

So maybe now we can say we've finally found an universal way to port the weather widget for
non LG devices? doc3000 could you please what's the trick behind framework.jar tweaking?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone. Is there any chances you guys (LG Revolution users)extract/port the embedded stock weather widget out? As a non LG user I really like the whole UI design of the weather widget.
Some of you might remember back in the beginning of this year the Optimus 2x weather widget had been extracted for public Android world and it was truly a blow, it even runs smoothly on my old HTC Hero G3 (running elelinux based on CM android ROM 2.3.5). It turns out those of you Revolution and Optimus Black users ar even luckier since you're using an updated version of weather widget which has better graphics and functions compared to the the original one runs on sister device Optimus 2x.
Evidently many non LG users are obesessed by this new weather widget aside of me. A few months ago forum user "mortuus82" has post a request thread over at forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077703 for extracting it from Optimus Black but the extraction work doesn't work well. So here I am to try my luck on Revolution board: if any of you know how to extract and re-sign the stock weather widget from your device, please share it to we non LG users. It will ne much appreciated.

Hey Michaelson thanks for the quick heads up! Looking forward to it.

Have you checked out Go Weather on the market. It looks very very close to LG's stock!

Thanks for your help. I just forgot to mention that I live in China and Go Weather is developed by a chinese team, yes I've got my hands on Go Weather since the day one and installed all the widgets, plug-ins way earlier than you guys before it landed the Android Market. It looks similar to Revolution's stock weather widget, but it's just a knock off, it's buggy, unstable and the not battery friendly. And not to mention the weather source that Go Weather uses isn't accurate. Most importantly, it doesn't have the exact "look" I want. Now I'm using mutiple weather apps including the stock Android weather & news, weatherbug, the weather channel and stock weather widget dump from LG Optimus 2X and am waiting for Michaelson send me the copy from Revolution.

Though you had to be running LG home for the default LG apps to work correctly?

It could be done without LG launcher by using "appwidgetpicker".

All Htc skins work for this rom
Skins are the best way to change the look of a stock rom
because you can always go back and they have less issues than
most themes.
I will make some Skins in the near future but for now there are tons of them here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801928 (credits to designers)

Super-Z Standard V1.1 (Full Rom)
If you want to try my other Rom that is based off Super-Z Standard but has some add-ons.
try Super-Z Enhanced. It is a beta rom and will remain that way until its stable enough for everyday use. It is just an enhanced version of Super-Z standard but not as stable.
Get the Super-Z Enhanced Beta rom ........HERE
Please Donate if you like my work and help me keep developing ... Thanks

its just a stock z rom but
i did a bunch of speed tweaks and didnt add anything extra
like rotating rosie and e reader.
i did add a few apps that should be standard with all roms anyway.
i may add ereader in this one but not sure yet
because kobo is free and has more options
but no widget so im not sure.

[CM7 Theme] BluMagic/RedMagic Updated 02\01\12

Hello Everyone
This is something I threw together for myself and have put many hours into. I have decided to share it with everyone here on XDA! Please let me know what you think of it! I take no credit for the majority of images found in this theme! I have gathered the images from across the web and XDA . I just put them in the order I like them to be in. Also I did edit most of the images to match the color of the theme better. There are lots of images in this theme. So many I can't remember where they all came from. Much thanks goes out to everyone for doing a great job on these themes! If you find your work in this theme and would like credit or for me to remove it please PM me. I will give credit where credit is due.
A big thanks goes out to MrDSL for setting me up with a great base for this apk and for getting all of my xml edits working properly! Thanks bro!
Now for the usual disclaimer: I'm not responsible for ANY damages that may occur from you using this theme. You flash this at you own risk and assume full responsibility for your DEVICE. Always make sure you make a Nandroid Backup just incase something goes wrong.

Install the Apk with a file manager

Anyone that has ever made a theme some of it may be in here
This theme uses quite a few images from Steel Blue. Team Carbon has done a great job on a Theme Chooser theme for CM7. They even have multiple colors found in the market.
The Animations I used along with YouTube videos found here. They are the Bounce, Flip, Flying, Fold and some new ones from the meXdroidMod Team. I mixed them all together to create a unique blend. So they will be different then what is shown in the link above.
Hope everyone enjoys this! I have put a lot of hours into this theme to get it to the point its at now. Please don't foget to hit the Thanks button!

The font in the Screenshots is attached below. I got it from here. Thanks to fachadick. He has created some great fonts! Take a look around and find one you like.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801160
Alternate Bootanimations
I have attached several bootanimations at the bottom. Including the one used in this theme Blue Android. I have found these through out other threads and just wanted to share them. Download from below and just Flash via Recovery thats it.
Docks and Icons
I have also attached the dock and icons used in this theme. They are in a non-flashable zip. DO NOT Flash it through Recovery. You must unzip it and extract the images to your SD Card using a File Manager(Market). You must have ADW EX or Launcher Pro to use the docks and you can apply them through settings. For the icons ADW EX has a custom shortcut built in. So you can use that to change the icon on ADW EX. If you use Launcher Pro you will need Desktop VisualizeR(Market) to apply the icons. These are just like any other Icon Packs found on XDA so there are lots of guides around
Hope everyone enjoys everything and if you need any help just ask.
This is pretty beast dude

Everything in the Screenshots should already be there. Are you referring to the clock in the status bar? That will only show up if you have an alarm set.
I'm searching for a new battery icon as we speak. Hopefully I can find one that looks good when the battery percentage tweek is applied. The current one turns white :/
Other than that is there anything you don't like? I'm not sure if I like the dots for the signal bars anymore. I would like to know if you want to keep them?
Have you noticed any errors?
Edit: I've decided to wait for more feedback till I update the theme. I'll probably make one for RC2 also since it doesn't seem many people have tried it.

You could be right on the transition. I tried something a little different on that animation. I can make it faster on the next release. I'll take out the bounce. Then it won't seem to lag.

Might it actually be... Fast? All of the Z roms I've used have usually been slow and laggy in general. Guess I'll find out. One thing though, will this support HTC Skins? I love some of the custom ones. Anyway it's always good to see more roms still coming for the incredible.

Awesome. And I'm in the same boat. Dang 2yr contracts. But there really isn't any big upgrade from the incredible anyway. At least on Verizon at the moment. Maybe by next year there will be a nice dual core phone on vzw. And one with an unlocked bootloader that is .

I'm not due for an upgrade until December 2012, if the world lasts that long
Really want to save up for a TB. I lust for the adreno205 and LTE speeds...I'll have my D-Inc for a while though
Correction my upgrade is 7/18/12. I used my brothers upgrade for the Incredible on launch day (came from the LG Voyager). And he used my upgrade.

Well guys if my wife ever decides that we can leave my inlaws I can get the minor things done and upload this.... i think you will enjoy it I spent atleast 72 hours theming it with custom icons from me and my good friend slayer from the evo forums... I think it looks great but that's my opinion.... and now that I have these roms done I'm going to start making mods and such. But I'm really hoping we get a good gingerbread leak soon I feel like we are being left behind

* Google Talk, Contacts, & Settings are not yet themed in the Slim ICS Version. Will update asap.
If you like the stock ICS theme, but hate that it seems unfinished, you will love this one. Everything that should be ICS Blue is now themed. The inversions mixed with ICS Blue looks very clean & sharp.
*Note: Due to the fact there users are flashing various versions of the Google Apps, you may experience some bugs, like apps not showing up after flashing. This theme was built on Apps from kejar31's G-Apps package. If you are using those G-Apps, you should be good to go.

Feel free to kang anything you find here or in my wallpaper gallery. Just be sure to give credit if you use something. Android is meant to be open, & I see way too many people getting bent out of shape over someone using something they did. I fell flattered if someone thinks something I've done is good enough to re-use. We should be focused on helping each other & giving back to the community, not becoming e-famous. You will NEVER see anything I do come with a disclaimer like "DO NOT REUSE MY IMAGES, THEY ARE LICENSED". My Android projects are made for me & to share with others, so if you find something you like, feel free to use it & spread it around. ~ Thanks

Sorry my friend, that wallpaper is via WJD Zone app in the Android Market, which pulls the wallpapers from WJD Designs server. I would share it if I could, but I don't have the image to share. The app is nice, & gives you access to lots of his walls & docks. He sent the app to me to test for an article I was writing on My Droid World, but it is only $1.50 I think.
*EDIT
I made this one for you, it's along the same line.

EDIT: I love the theme MS but any chance of getting the original gummy boot ani back? Great job. My keyboard doesn't look like the op screenie.? No biggie

Just wanna say this is a really great simple theme. Really like it. I did flash over 0.7.8 & only flaw ive noticed so far is the keyboard in sms isnt themed, just incase anyone asks if it will work. Other than that, this is great! Keep up the good work
EDIT: ok i think i found out my problem. Just installed this theme on another phone running gummy 0.7.2 & *POOF* the themed keyboards there lol So im guessing this is for 7.7 and prior instead of the later i thought he meant when it says "7.7 & up"....derp
Looks great! I'm using it. I wish Gmail and market could be have a themed icon. And the keyboard of course isn't themed.

I'll just put in again that I really like this theme, just missing the themed keyboard... is that a skinned swift key or somthin?

Yeah its not, but odd thing is i actually flashed 7.7, and all i got was force close on talk, gmail, market continued to have no connection, i even restarted, cleared cache, but everything was themed including the keyboard. I'm not sure, I flashed 7.8 with the theme and it all works fine except, Gmail isn't themed, and the keyboard isnt either. I'm definitely excited for further improvements. I'll totally test if necessary!
-John
p.s- to the op, it would help maybe including a link to the proper gapps, cause i'm not sure if people have the right one, and including myself.
The keyboard IS themed, you need to go to settings/language&input & change the keboard (you will now have 2 installed)
As I stated in the OP, Gapps has been changed 4 times now for this ROM, & then people are flashing other versions also, there is no way I can theme for every possible configuration. As you can see in the screenshots, it worked great for me.
Hopefully kejar will stick to these gapps for a while, & I can get a theme update that will work for everyone.
Thanks guys!
not seeing a 2nd keyboard installed and I don't see an apk for one in the zip... not that big of a deal though lol

+++1 same for me as well. running 0.7.8 with 20120224 gapps, far as I know the latest versions of each. Other than the keyboard, this is great.
Added Support
Just added a version to the OP for those of you who use the Slim ICS ROM. Google Talk, Contacts, & Settings are not themed yet in this version,
Well maybe more luck here. Aksed the question in the crespo thread twice but nobody seems to feel the urge to answer .. I see people talking about 0.7.8 , but it can not be found anywhere .. A week ago mpobile sensei said the release was borked for crespo and there would be a recompile and upload soon .. Well I have never seen it since then .. So where did it go ??
Mobile please answer us.

Hello Mobile you go to the next but all of us don't see the keyboard lets see yours?
also the screen when a call comes in the answer slide button is barely visible.
Mobile thank you for everything you do and I know you are busy. Could you point to the keyboard apk you say is in this new theme for all of us.
Will this theme work on gummy 0.8 which was released for the crespo today ?

Sweet! I'm definitely looking forward to giving this a try if/when you guys get a stable build going. I'm assuming it'll have full system-wide Beats Audio support? I haven't looked at Sense 5 much. I did enjoy Sense 4.1 on my HTC Evo 3D but then when development stopped for Android+Sense on that phone, I got very comfortable with AOSP/CM/PA/AOKP stuff. I would definitely have considered the HTC One if it had a removable battery and microSD slot but without those, it was out of the question. Since getting the S4, I've gotten used to TouchWiz + Nova Launcher. Most of the "new" features of the S4 seem gimmicky to me so I wouldn't mind going without them. I don't like that the dialer/contacts doesn't seem to have my contacts' Facebook photos synced. Maybe there's a workaround for that? I've also been using exDialer since you included it in your ROM. It has more of the classic look that I like. So...what's good about Sense 5? What does it offer that AOSP and TW don't?

Different look & feel, different camera app, Blinkfeed. I used the Sense 5 port for the Evo LTE pretty extensively and liked it quite a bit, including Blinkfeed. I also really like HTC's multitasking interface. That's not to say I don't like TW and its various features, but it's always good to have options
My main concern with this is that the HTC camera app was completely designed around a 4 megapixel sensor. I don't know if it can be modded to work with higher resolutions, but then again I'm not a developer.
