odex and deodex

hy all I want to ask what the difference is odex and deodex
and what its advantages...

odex = all files apk/jar files turned in to Someapk.odex and Someapk.apk faster and more respond and they are not editable
deodex = no Someapk.odex files but whole app in .apk extension maybe slower

[request]TWLauncher from XXLPY

Hello, i hope this thread is open correctly, if not a moderator can delete it.
Now the request,
I need the stock TWLauncher from XXLPY JB version from system/app because i want to replace the twlauncher from XXLQ4 and see if still lags

I forgot to tell you that you can extract it from XXLPY deodexed zip from Frapeti. Delete new one with its Odex file, and push this one in there (system/app).

Hi, Is there a way to check whether my rom Is Deodexed or odex etc?
The reason I ask is some mods only work on the correct one now.

Look in your app or framework folders for odex files, but if you're on stock chances are its odexed.

Need the SmallAppManager.apk too,it should be just above SmallAppManagerService.apk in system/apps...

i have a tip for you: grab any stock .apk from your or any latest stock rom .zip. simply download stock rom, archive the rom .zip on your computer. then you can use it anytime you need it.:good:
the result wil be: you can pull out any stock .apk whenever you need one. no need to ask and wait for answer here

Oh, you deodexed everything. In that case, it may be something to do with how you put your deodexed files back to your phone.
It could be worth just deodexing the files you need. I only deodex about three or four files with my ROM's.
