It's nothing to worry about, its a boot.img issue. I will get the original 2.1 boot.mbn from the kdz, convert it to img then you can just flash it in fastboot.
Here you go:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5183281/2.1_v20b_boot.img
Just flash it in fastboot.
If you wonder how I converted mbn -> boot.img, search 4pda for mur4ik's mbn2boot tool.

just wondering if this problem doesnt get sorted, and if i take it back to carphone warehouse tommorow and tell them that i was updating to 2.1 through LG mobile tool software will they fix it for me or give me another one
Say that LG PC Suite prompted you for an update, but crashed half way through updating, they will most likely change the internals or send off to LG to fix it.

Sounds plausable, go for it. I wouldn't imagine them saying 'no', they know full well how crappy the normal updater is. Good luck.
I think I will take it back but aren't there any solutions for this problem.
If you are going to return it, I suggest fully bricking it. That way you will probably get a new motherboard, and solve your old 'bad block boot' problem. Just start a KDZ flash and remove the usb cable around a quarter of the way through. They will surely accept it, well, they did with mine anyway.
Good luck.
Is it solved? How bout go to download mode and flash flashboot kdz via kdz updater.
I fix my (2nd) Linux Kernel Panic this way.

Download a Fastboot KDZ. Here:
Put your phone into Download Mode (Volume Down + Power)
Run KDZ Updater
Once Flashed boot into fastboot (Camera+Power)
Open CMD and Direct to where ADB and fastboot are (cd C:\android\adb)
type
Code:
fastboot -w
fastboot reboot
Tips: If you cannot connect Use the Back Ports of the PC not the Front ones.
Maybe here you can find something:

flash 2.1 fastboot rom with kdz updater again, then go into fastboot and flash clockworkmod recovery/ or flash 2.2/2.3 with android sdk

Do that, flash 2.1 fastboot and clockwork kdz over KDZ UPDATER, then it needs to work

Please actually read, his phone cannot boot into download or emergency mode.so he cant flash any ROMs. This happened to me, My power went out while flashing a KDZ. Try taking your phone back to the store and see what they say (don't tell them you flashed!), they fixed mine (considering I voided the warranty) or if they won't fix, there is a place online somewhere who when you send them your phone, they jtag it and fix it for you. I'll have a look for the link again.
Hope it helps,
Jack

My friend. Instead of doing the JTAG yourself (which is really not easy because you will have to soldier things on the board itslef because it is not prepared for this) I suggest you use this service:
http://www.fonefunshop.co.uk/cable_..._Repair_Service_(mail_in_repair_service).html
Not expensive, and it shoud do the needed.
Hope this helps.
I would really like apreciate some JTAG schematics...there are several sites on internet that offer this service hopefully somebody will tell us how to do it...

You need a device called a "RIFF Box" which go from around £110 to £150. So using the above purchase would be a better option

I think your phone is not bricked.
My friend have a GT540 and nothing shows in the screen until the phones finishes booting.
What I did to flash SwiftDroid? I ran the commands to flash it via fastboot and the terminal said "waiting for device". I turned the phone off, turned it on in fastboot mode. Nothing showed on the screen, but my terminal managed to flash the ROM.
Have you already tried that?
Good luck
Great, i tried to flash Hellfire's ICS rom, and for some freakin' reason, the phone got stuck at the hellfire loading screen and won't boot.
The problem is, my down vol button broke quite some time ago, and i can't use the power+vol down in order to save my phone. any ideas?

If you're lucky then it boots up enough to load adb.
Attach the usb cable, boot, open cmd and try if you find a device with adb devices
If yes you can easily tell it to reboot to recovery with reboot recovery and flash a new ROM.
Edit: As Hellfire is an ICS ROM you might need to use my modded adb drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752074
From what i know smathflash needs VOL UP to be used.

Can you help me out? I'm not sure what am i supposed to do to tell it to reboot to recovery.
P.S. Well, i tried booting up my phone today and it's now stuck at the second LG logo (the one with a blue hue).

I will supply you with adb when I come from work.

Hey guys,
I accidentally selected the OTA that popped up on my phone while on a Stock ROM and now my Verizon LG G2 is stuck in a bootloop with CWM Recovery 6.0.4.4 I have tried to wipe everything and install a older CM ROM and Gummy ROM to see if that would get my phone to turn back on and it doesn't. I have researched many threads to see if there was a resolution for my issue, but everything that I tried did not work. I have a iMac and a Windows laptop and I have tried many things with Terminal and Command Prompt and nothing seems to work. I don't know if I am doing something wrong with ADB or if I am simply just missing other things, but I am trying to get my phone back un-rooted and back to stock to get my phone replaced under the warranty. PLEASE HELP!

I tried the LG Flash Tool on a PC, but it gives me an error message LG USB/Parallel Lock Key is not detected and when I hit OK, it pops up with a Login with the Country filled in with Republic of Korea, ID and Password are left empty. I don't know what to do from there.
Enter into download mode by turning off your phone, then hold vol + and plug it to your computer.
Download the official firmware for your device.
Download FlashTool.1.0.54
unzip FlashTool.1.0.54, open the folder and launch UpTestEX.exe
Select type:3GQCT
Phone mode: DIAG
Select kdz file: browse for your official firmware
Then click: normal web upgrade test
Then click: Upgrade start
a new window will show, chose english language. Country: korea, then click ok and wait untill the firmware installs.
Good luck.

so i found a way to extract KDZ's to get at the goodies inside. and i figured hey why not zip up the imgs for anyone that needs a restore can fastboot flash them? then i realized. why not make a recovery flashable zip? forr now here is the stock d415 imgs if you want your variants uploaded PM me your imei code from dialing *#26# and your variant
instructions
extract partitions you need (ignore the numbers in most of the file names, its the offsets so the restorre knows where they go)
open the directory you extracted them to and hold shift and right click with no files selected. n the menu hit open comand window here.
time to flash:3 this is assumng fastboot is in your path
Code:
fastboot flash PARTITION_NAME FILE_NAME
link will be added shortly enjoy!
Do you have the links? I have a D415 also . Desperately need the original files. I have a soft brick. I can't flash the original KDZ. Every time the LG Mobile Tool reboots my phone into fastboot mode, it stops at 9% and says phone was disconnected. I tried for hours trying to get it to work, but nothing, also tried different computers and still nothing. I'm thinking it might be a driver problem.
I can get into TWRP and I can fastboot commands. I just need to flash the original D415 images.

I didn't use those images, I was able to restore a half working stock system. Some things were definitely messed up: storage space showed only 4gb, the screen would register screen swipes as single button presses. I ended up calling T-mobile and got an RMA, since I got this phone 4 days ago.
Thank you for the help though, I'm sure many people will find them useful

After flashing TWRP and still in fastboot, hold power and vol+. Keep both held while it reboots, it takes a few seconds. When the Redmi logo appears and the phone vibrates release the power button. Keep holding the vol+ button until it boots into TWRP.

I can't answer for OP, but he looks to have abandoned the thread.
What I can recommend from personal experience is that using latest version of TWRP - I think it's 4.3.3 (can't tell you exactly, as I'm writing this without checking my laptop on which I have the TWRP and ROM files) - will resolve all your problems.
Thanks for your reply I actually just managed to get root/TWRP/Magisk to work. A lot of the TWRP recovery images that I encountered just caused the phone to boot loop or get stuck on fastboot mode.
The TWRP that worked for me was twrp-3.3.1-15-raphael-mauronofrio.img
following:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.1-15-raphael-mauronofrio.img
For reference I have the global Mi 9T Pro

I am also having this issue, after doing the exact same thing you did...
Would you be able to post the download link you got your TWRP version from? And maybe go into a little more detail about the reinstalling order (if that is important)?
Also the "mauronofrio" version didn't work (I have the Mi 9T), are there any other options out there?
Many thanks for any responses

Hey sorry didn't see your reply... I haven't had time in the last month to look at it so I'm still stuck. How did you fix it using MiFlash? Did you make it force load TWRP onto the phone or something?
I think there is definitely something wrong with the partition, as when I plug it into the computer it no longer comes up in "my computer" - although I do have the MIUI recovery working again.

I'm still not able to get TWRP working... I think all of my problems will be solved as soon as I can get into it, but each time I load the recovery image on (using command prompt) it says it completes, but when I try to reboot it into recovery mode it never works (if I use command prompt to reboot into recovery it just shuts down but if I hold the button combination it either reboots back into fastboot or the original MIUI recovery mode - and yes, I am using the right button combinations).
I've tried every version of TWRP I could find, so I'm certain its not a problem with the recovery image itself... Have you or anyone else had this happen before? It's so infuriating that it just doesn't work, but I don't know why...
BTW the commands I'm using are
Code:
fastboot flash recovery "recovery.img"
(which works) and then
Code:
fastboot boot "recovery.img"
(which gives 2 OKs, but the phone just turns off).
(this all after setting the directory to my adb folder)
