Using Windows Phone As Windows 7 Accelerometer Sensor - Windows Phone 7 Apps and Games

This is my first post so please pardon my n00bness!
The following link shows how to use your Windows Phone as a Windows 7 accelerometer sensor.
http : // blogs.microsoft . co.il/blogs/arik/archive/2011/08/13/using_2D00_windows_2D00_phone_2D00_as_2D00_windows_2D00_7_2D00_accelerometer_2D00_sensor .aspx
Sorry, I am a newbie so I can't post links yet.
This is understandable that this is a new development and hence installing the drivers may not work for everyone. Nonetheless, I followed installation instructions.
Step 4 reads "Run install_wp7_driver_32bit.bat or install_wp7_driver_64bit.bat to install the driver".
There, I get "devcon.exe failed" in my command window on my laptop.
I was wondering if anyone else here tried this out. If yes then please share if you managed to run it or not.
Thanks!
PS: I have DFT 7713 Mango installed on my HTC Mozart and i love it

I tried it, but I can´t come up with examples of using it on PC

Are you Vista x64 or Vista x86? Either way check the information on step (0) of the guide in my signature. You need to update the driver for your HTC USB Sync.
Hello. Verry good guide im running vista 32 bit and try to install driver, but windows said the driver is good HTC Driver, ive install a vista driver from this forum a few monthes ago. It look like the usb driver is working because i use this vista laptop to flash roms.

Ahh, ok. Do you have antivirus running? It can also interfere with USPL. If so, try disabling it temporarily and try again...
No problem in Vista 32-bit (many times), if you use this guide : http://www.modaco.com/content/windows-mobile-news/252977/ruu-on-vista-it-can-be-done-the-ultimate-guide/
It`s from Duttys guide.
you need to revert to the old drivers even if vista tells you that you have a good driver
I did everything that is possible and on Vista x64 I can't make it work! BTW The 64 bit Vista SP1 wants Digitally signed driver and the one provided is not!

You can just disable this "feature", google for it.

This is true. You can get around this by following step (0a) of the guide in my signature.

Run it from a command prompt window instead so you can see the error text before it disappears
if i run it from the command prompt i got exactely the same error like the threatauthor. then i tried some things and now it works! i don't know what i ve done
thanks a lot for the help
btw, very good guide!
i also got the error message "no response from device"
i have the old driver (from 2009) installed.
also vista, but 32bit
anybode can help?
I have actually followed the guidance on modaco earlier and have successfully installed cooked ROM on my HD using USPL, but after upgrading to 1.56 now when I try to follow the guide and install the driver an error msg comes up saying "Windows has encountered a problem" and the driver does not get installed. I have no idea why it is not working as I know that I have done everything right, and btw I have 32 bit vista. Can anybody help? For the time being using HSPL, but would like to have stock SPL instead.
Try to change the USP port where you phone is connected. Just connect the cable to other port. This helped me once.
try this:
in your command prompt window (which you have set to run as administrator), navigate to where the exe is.
then type blac_uspl.exe (i think thats what its called) BUT DONT HIT ENTER
then, put the usb cable into your touch hd. as soon as it says USB in bootloader mode, hit enter and it ought to work then, provided you do it quick enough.
this worked for me when i had the same issue.
weird.
i tried to flash it about 15 times. 10 times this erroer message. then i was able to install uspl! wow.. but the flash-process stopped at 0%.
so i tried again and again and then it ahppened. i flashed that stupid rom
i didnt chance anything. i just did the same as before. so i dondst know what the exact problem was.
but ok. wating for the next rom which i wanna flash
thanks for your help!

[USPL] Windows 7 RC

I am running the new 64-bit, Release Candidate of Windows 7. Despite booting to allow unsigned drivers (F8 on boot-time), Windows 7 still rejects the USPL driver. I did browse to the USPL GUI driver for 64 bit. Worked fine on previous Windows 7 beta.
Anyone else have trouble?
did you try running in compatible modus??
On the file properties.....
Did you try downgrading your drivers?
I had no problem with HSPL, but with USPL I had to downgrade drivers, which casued all sorts of problems when trying to do normal operations with WMDC.
johnshep ...
Have you tried the new Windows 7's XP Mode feature ...?
... review here ... and ... download here ...
Works like charm on my PC, running x64 W7, build 7068.
Guide by Digital Outcast in first page
PLs read the Dummies guide written by the great "Digital Outcast" and you shall know what your problem is and how to solve it, it really helped me i am also using win7 x64 release candidate 7100 build. pls read the wiki for more info. have a nice time flashing
i did it just how i'd being doing it in vista and it worked just fine. My only problem was my internet security suite being overzealous.
Since it's actually a command line application, I don't think the compatibility feature is available...will try when get home from work. If this is expereinced by othjers, weill need new way to run USPL. I did notice there were updated drivers for our phones, in RC1, but you still can't flash using those new drivers from Microsoft

You should try reading my guide as well as my USPL GUI application. They are both linked in my signature. I am running Windows 7 RC 1 (build 7100) on both 32 and 64-bit. I have a dual-boot configuration and the drivers, USPL via command prompt, and USPL via my GUI all work fine for me on both installations. Are you sure you did the process right?

I have win7 x64 and i just use USPL normally, but first i log onto windows without the digital sign driver and then updating the Mobile drivers to the ones found on this forum and it works like a charm... No need to run under XP mode

upgrade rom htc hd with WM7 64bit

upgrade rom htc hd with Windows 7 64bit creates a problem? can do it without active sync?
edit: does not make me change the title
just copy the .nbh file in your sdcard root and rename it BLACIMG.nbh, turn off the phone and keep pressed vol down + power button, job done, happy flashing.
btw i'm using windows 7 64bit and works fine, you can flash without worries.
What you can try, is to place the HD in tricolor mode, when the device is off, push on the low sound button and keep it press while pushing the power button until you see the tri-color mode.
After that, connect your HD trought USB to your PC. Wait until the PC have load the drivers.
And Run the rom upgrade program "as an administrator".
Normally, it should work.
ALF it works also the old way, just run the RuuWrapper that comes with the rom and it will ask for administrator privileges, press next and update the rom. This method needs active sync.
W7 64 bit and touch HD
I have all my computers with windows 7 64 bit. I have no problem sync the HD, or flash. I have not seen anyone comment about it, so here you go- from trying it, no problems at all. Actully, it works better than it was with XP.

course I must not use the old active sync true ....
Thank you all for the clarifications
usually use the USPL but does not work
upgade from the SD don't start remains in bootloader
depend by the SD ....
Please optimize the head of this Thread from "with WM7 x64" to "via Win7 x64". I was really confused cause I wondered if I could find an early WM7 (Windows Mobile 7) in an 64 bit edition in here. Maybe you could change the title to not confuse any more people? WM7 -> Win7!
Thanks,
Future
you know the USPL 2.5 works with Windows Vista?
can someone give a full "step-by-step" to perform the ROM upgrade successfully?
Hi, I referred to this web page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3625567&postcount=272
It does not sound as easy as this topic. I tried to upgrade the driver, wceusbsh.sys, Windows does not allow it (said does not match the manufacturer), and the steps given do not work at all. What other software is needed? Please provide link to get them.
I am trying to upgrade from WM6.1 to TOUCH_HD_WWE_21882_231109 (Duly maryone). Thanks for helping. I am using Windows 7 64-bits.
There aren't problems with Windows 7 64-bit and rom flashes. Also, your thread has absolutely nothing to do with Windows Phone 7 so please correct the erroneous subject.

are you sure you understand the issue?
Win7 driver for HTC USB is NOT compatible with those RUU Loader.
And you need to restore the XP one which DOES NOT have digital signature.
Win7 users need to press F8 before booting windows and choose disable signature check (something like that) option. And you will be able to install the unsigned driver for flashing.
So, please correct your erroneous statement.

1. Download Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
2. Install first Virtual PC then take a reboot and install Windows XP Mode.
3. Do a Windows Update on the Windows XP Mode, and make sure that .Net framework is installed.
4. Download Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/activesync-download.mspx
5. Connect the phone to the computer , once that is done you can click on the USB menu above your Windows XP Mode.
6. Attach the devices that you need by clicking on them. (Make sure that the phone is in the bootloader if you are going to flash it)

yah been doing this since 1st time loading cooked rom into my HD
Thanks for your guide Giland, but I've been using Windows 7 and used same method as described by mezolezo, i.e.
1- Reboot your HD device on the bootloader
2- plug the Cable till you see the USB written in the bottom of the screen
3- you can Flash your HD now
Also the Dummies Guide also provides a detailed step-by-step guide for flashing including how to downgrade drivers for Windows 7 so 'usb' is displayed in bootloader
Still I appreciate your efforts and hope to here more from yourself
Thanks
Rick
Using windows 7 64b and i just make an active sync connection and use the given software with the roms... Only had driver issues while Windows 7 was stil on earlier RCs.
You don't need do that! Simply boot windows 7 using disable driver <something> lol! Update drivers and flash! I use this method and i never have problems!
What do you mean with upgrade driver?
Where can I find the driver?
This my friends it is very very complicated.I am sure it is working but..
If you have windows 7 install windows mobile device centerr, plug in your HD and FLASH.OR you may copy the BLACIMG.NBH to the card and FLASH.
NO NEED TO OVER COMPLICATE YOUR LIFE.
Thank you anyway for the tutorial.
Was just a test since @ work the mobile center wont work no mater what i try.
So i found this complicated way to do it and its working
I did not want to offend you in any way,i am using windows 7 for a long time now and always flashed using Windows mobile center.
I plug in the HD. When asken select the Active sync mode, then start the RUUWrapper and tihs is it, the rest is his job.
And it worked always.
But i still preffer the card method.
found out my problem here , guese what it was forefront anti virus that did it all
I just disabled it and then i reinstalled the Windows Mobile Device Center.
i simply flash my rom on my windows 7 ultimate as i used to do on Vista. Why bother complicating one's life
USPL 2.5 and Windows 7 Ultimate
I only flash via USPL 2.5 and I haven't been able to flash in windows 7 ultimate I have tried all the guides and have not been successful, I came across this guide thought I found some information that would really help me because I also set-up this virtual PC on my machine, only to find out that there is a lot of different ways to flash my phone in Windows 7, so my question is this
1) Is anyone of you guys Flashing using USPL2.5 in Windows 7 Ultimate?
2) If YES, could you explain to me how get it working on my machine?
Thanks.
