[q] usb not recognized sgs i9000

HI TO ALL FRIENDS
I SUDDENLY ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM: usb not recognized ..... .
what i did:
1-uninstalled kies and installed again
2- installed driver again
3-tried on other PC
4-re installed windows seven on laptop
5-changed cable
6-formatted my sgs 2 times
7-usb debugging and other types of connection does not work.
8- 2 days ago my sgs dropped down from 1 meter high.
9- it works great by itself but no usb connection available
10 during this week i tried about 10 pages of apps , and it has been sluggish, and finally this problem of usb made me to format it to factory reset.
NOT ALL DONE ABOVE WORKED
PLEASE HELP ME

Well, it is possible that the USB connector in your phone was damaged when it fell.
But first of all: As far as I know, you do need the original Samsung cable which came with the phone to connect to Kies. So, if you can still use the mass storage capability, but not use Kies, this could be your problem. Otherwise it's more likely to be the connector.

THERE IS VISIBLE NODAMAGE . I PERSONALLY THINK THAT PART OF OS THAT CONTROLS EXTERNAL CONECTION HAS IMPAIRED AND MUST BE REPAIRED . BUT HOW? IS THERE ANY WAY Of flashing android device without need to odin and pc?

I don't think that the software could have taken damage by the fall. And if there is any way to flash the phone without USB connection, you would need to take apart the phone and use special hardware - maybe you should just RMA it. Contact Samsung support and see what they have to say.

and i think or i feel if there were any way to install a fresh ROM on sgs with 3 botton assistance, not with odin software, thats why pc can not recognizr my phone. so i think newand fresh rom can do better.
i mean copying a rom file on sd card and through recovery mode applying update zip

@raminazad: If you really want to update your ROM first, you will have to wait. A "custom recovery" is needed for this (as a cable connection is not possible for you), and there does not exist one, yet for the i9003. Maybe in some weeks... look in this thread:

If you really triad all above and none working, I think you should take your phone to samsung repair service.

HELP MY phone is Bricked SPICE 410

Sad day today....all was well, tried to play around with Swap memory and then the trouble started,
First all the data on my SD card got wiped out !
After that the phone just went dead, no led when connected to charge,screen was dead no light, flicker of any sort, removed battery and tried many times still no luck...
suspected it could be a software problem so connected to to SUT, a phone was detected, tried completing the stock ROM reload, went to certain extent but then resulted in FAIL
Post that now I get a led red light when connected to charger but nothing else. does not go into download mode or battery charging animation.
Tried SUT once again but this time there is no phone detected.....
not sure if it is battery / handset problem....did the core areas in the phone get corrupted while playing with Swap ???
I partitioned using CWM, used Swapper2 app, all went well till I realised that data in SD was wiped clean.
Was on sharp mod...missing the phone badly...any help or guidance will be much appreciated...
Also will visit to service center help now that this phone is completely off SPICE stores ? yes it is still under "Warranty"
had to switch back to blackberry yucksss !!...for sometime I was infact trying to touch the screen
hoping to hear soon from you guys !!!!

First of all very sad to hear, My heartfelt condolences....
At this stage after trying SUT for multiple times, I think a visit to Spice service center is the only solution, please try it and update here
Be ready to part with your phone for a week atleast

BACK in BUSINESS
I got it Back folks.....thanks to SUT & Windows.....was breaking my head on what could be wrong...retraced back all my steps....
checked if the device has been wrongly configured by windows....went to device manager...lo I saw there was "Other Device" with something registered as Qualcomm CDMA. Deleted it...removed the usb and reconnected.....
Windows did a fresh installation of the device...after sometime I could see F drive of the device with image folder and all its contents....
Simply ran SUT once again, even now there was no display, just a gut feel everything will proceed smoothly....and yes SUT detected the device went through the installation. At one step it also asked if it could format F drive....I went ahead pressing OK....SUT finished successfully...after few anxious moments saw the familiar battery charging icon ......My day was made....and after few more anxious moments....I pressed power button to see SHARP Loading....my device is reborn again !
lesson learnt.....Don't play with SWAP mem, let the dev folks figure out and guide us...
If in any trouble keep SUT and preferrably Stock NB0 file handy.
Back in business folks !!

Device still bricked
Hi, I have the same problem. My device (spice mi-410) suddenly stopped working. screen is blank, without power. It wont start in recovery or download mode. It wont charge. Only red led when connected to charger. That red led comes even when battery is not placed in the device and charger is connected. When i connect it to pc, windows detect it as HUAWEI Mobile Connect - Bus Enumerate Device in USB controllers. F disk is not visible nor can SUT detect it. Guess I am struck. This thing happened without me doing anything. It was working properly till night, just saw the device in the morning in this state. I had flashed official .nb0 few months back and the device was working flawlessly till now. Sending it to repairs to spice service centre is out of question (as it is out of warranty), nor those idiots know anything, they just gave me an estimate of INR 9k for repairs without seeing the device.
Any help appreciated.

ya that idiot has fu***-up my phone earlier too. few months back my glass cracked, although the phone kept working fine. he changed the glass and returned the phone 2 months later, with all signs of ra**e been committed on phone. they never knew anything about the phone and were surprised to see such a huge device from spice. so they tried all there *tools* to pry it open before realizing that what damage they have done. my gps stopped working since then, they refused to fix it saying that as the phone has been *opened* (ra**d by them) it is out of warranty, although it was still under warranty.
And now this has happened.

Hi Pretty similar to the problem I had, try and do the following
Try to use the newer SUT (1.8) version, search in this forum and you will get the link. If you are on it great.
Keep the nb0 file of any original rom - Spice GB on .32 kernel or Sharp GB on .35 kernel
connect the device with battery (hopefully charged well) to your computer, let windows detect it, launch your SUT, if you see a phone connected you are in luck !...just proceed with the next steps of by selecting the nb0 file, and selecting erase all user data.
SUT will prompt that your F disk is gone bad and do you need to reinstall it, select yes and let SUT do its stuff.
This will 100% load the ROM and F disk stuff and device will boot into the ROM once you finish.
In case SUT is not showing A phone is connected, restart your computer, ensure no other application is running, clear all earlier recognized devices in Device Manager and start fresh by connecting the device again.

this is just my exp i had to use the old sutL3 which is the old 1.7.3
to flash the original India update of the 2.3 it did not work on the 1.8
this is based on my experience when i flashed back the orignal to sell the same and get the one V . I could be wrong do correct me if so but i did this just around 2 weeks back:laugh:

You could be right, if I recollect I infact flashed directly Sharp Stock ROM when I was facing the same problem. ....
btw how is HTC ONE V....you could have invested in a device with more RAM If I am not wrong this is with 512

its ok budget buddy i didnt have much money and only the spice guy was giving me the buy back :laugh:

Phone not detected
I tried all the methods mentioned above on two different PC's. The Problem is that the phone is detected as "USB Input Device". The driver is provided by SUT. When it says device driver installed it shows as "usb input device" and the red notification LED glows. This happens whether or not battery is inserted. I charged the battery externally too.
Any Solutions?

Hey guys , i have an optimus 2x with cm7 on it all was working great , till today when i had to reset it to data factory because i`ve kinda ****ed up my contacts lol.That wasnt the biggest problem , since i still had my things on the internal memory , but my CM7 wont recongize it and my camera / gallery and some application were not working sooo i`ve decided to wipe everything and install a new ROM , i`ve looked around and found the temasek's one , which i`ve read that it is very good , with that being said i`ve wipe everything and did a stupid move , didnt saved the .zip file on my phone before that , saved one , but it wasnt the ROM it was the kernel or something *idk what that is* lol soo ye. now im pretty much stuck with a phone that powers on and nothing happens and just goes in recovery if you want , but cant do much there because when i try to mount the usb i get the "Unable to write to ums lunfile(No such file of directory)" error sooo my question is : Does any of you gods of optimus 2x have any idea how can i fix my phone ? Its in the forums...search first. Just recover via NVFlash.

Nevermind , i`ve fixed it. Used another phones SD card to get files into my Optimus 2x

Even recovery has USB connectc function. If you donlt know what are you doing, think twice

I need some help here..my p990 usb only charges when connect to pc or playstation 3. I know it isn't a driver problem because i have already tested other two p990 at my pc and both devices are recognized/usb work.
I've tried smartflash/nvflash but the device can't be recognized by windows..
So, can i assume the usb hardware is dead :crying:? any tip for fixing this matter ?

Maybe the issue is the cable mate.'......try to change it.

I already done this but the usb won't work and the same cable works with another p990. :crying:

At the moment with Gueste2X_GoodBye-2.0 + gestekrnl 2.1 without oc, baseband 0725.

Did you try to switch mode? From "mass storage" to "mtp"?

No. How can i try this?

go to Settings->Storage-> hit the menu button -> USB-Connection(PC) -> choose between the options.
Actually I'm having the same issue. But I'm really sure my USB port is broken.
The device just isn't recognizing that it is being plugged into something.
(And I tried everything anyone ever reccomended on the USB not working matter)
I just use a cardreader to put stuff on my SDcard. I just hope I never have to repair my device via NVFlash. That's impossible now.
Other than that it's not a big deal for non-devs

Can't enter into this menu usb-connection(pc) when i press menu button nothing happens.. I think we are in the same boat because my phone can't be recognized in apx mode/ sw mode ..

The same is happening with my p990 to. I can´t connect to pc with pc connection. To transfer data i use the card reader or with airdroid who it make with wifi.
Others users that had this problem they sent the phone in warranty and Lg have changed their mainboards. So if you have warranty go and solve your problem with your LG shop. It´s seems that is not any solution to solve this annoying problem with this bad hardware

Hello, same problem here. Well, "you need to send it to LG".. but there's one problem. I have MIUI and I can't flash back original ROM without nvflash. How to deal with it?

Try this: open LG update tool > options > "?recover (phone)? " > do by imei > enter serial and imei. LG update tool checks baseband for updates, for recovery idk, but I guess recovery cm only needs the numbers entered. Worth a try, and I'd like to know too.... well at mine don´t works. thank you very much for you solution.

I have the same problem. It's not possible to connect to the phone either by LG tool or as mass storage. I've tried different cables, computers and cleaning the connector in the phone without success. I'm running stock GB.
I would really like to root the phone to be able to flash CM10. Is there any way to do this without USB connection?
Edit: I've already tried NVFlash and SuperOneClick

I had the same problem last weeked and i manage to solve it, im busy right now but I promise i'll tell you how i solved it later today or tomorrow

Hey hello, I wrote yesterday and told you that I would teach you how to fix this bug, I'm almost done with the tutorial, I had to make all over again so I could tell you step by step, unfortunately, the fix I found is temporal, so, I'm trying one more thing to see if I can make it permanent, and also, i'm wating for Hulk to answer me where to post this fix, 'cuz you're not the only one with this problem, so I think would be better to create a thread with my solution, i'm sorry if I could not give you the instruccions today but I think later today or tomorrow hulk will tell me where to put it, as soon as I post the solution, I'll post here a link to the thread, just wait a bit more

I need help! Security error in LG P970

Well I am new in this forum, and I always come here but never registered until now. The problem with my LG is that the button on / off began to fail and have problems, but I solved it using the G button to unlock, but not to turn it on.
Then the usb por ( Yeah, the one that u use for charging ) And I took it to a technician when stopped charging. He said he couldn't sold it because it could damage a piece there, so he simply put a masking tape and stuck the piece that was dropped. And of course, it worked again .
That day I was going to change the rom , but then i decided just do a full wipe to the lg. I downloaded ROM Manager, downloaded CWM and reboot into CWM . And that gave me a Security Error.
I didn't worry about it , I can fix it with the official program of LG or with SFT , the problem is that the computer does not read the phone. I need help urgently , I really want to solve this on my own .:crying::crying::crying:
And I think you noticed that english isn't my first language

I'm guessing that you are running ICS. You just can't install CWM on the official ICS and install... The boot loader is locked.
I have no idea what to without USB and a computer. You can always load the ROMs on the SD card manually, but that won't work for solutions that require a PC.
I'm reading that your USB works, but the drivers don't. Correct?
- Try a different USB cable. Just because it charges doesn't means it working data-wise.
- Are you using the PC drivers from here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111771&page=65
- Sometimes you gotta cut your losses. Your war-torn, battle-hardened P970 might be ready for retirement.
