[Q] Need gingerbread stock mms.apk

Hi guys! can anyone tell me where I can find stock LG 2X 2.3 mms.apk? I searched all over the forum but I found only the Froyo version.
Could this be achieved by downloading a Gingerbread ROM from the Dev section and simply opening the .zip folder and removing the .apk from the ROM package?
Iv looked in this location before for other apps but never taken any files out so not sure if this will work this easily??
I‘ll try as soon as possible, can I rely on your help here?

No, I dont know if this method works as I have never attempted this before.
I also havent seen it mentioned anyone on here that, that method is possible. To be honest though, as long as youve made a backup through CWM then if anything goes wrong just restore the backup. Also if its only an .apk file and he fails to installed the phone will stop the process so nothing will happen.
What i have just said are only thoughts which havent been tried or tested.
Here you are my friend
Thanks mate!!!

Sorry, it doesn‘t work! I‘ve disinstalled messages app with titanium backup but installing your file “Application not installed“ is your 2.3.7?
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA App
No,it's 2.3.4
Try this one
Nothing.... I deleted old mms app with TB but on new install it told me if I want to replace some files, so I think I‘m doing something wrong, I don‘t know how to delete totally all mms system files

They are in Titanium (root is needed). Freeze is better then uninstall, you can experiment what to remove and easily return back. And there is somewhere a list of apps which are safe to remove, search for it. Of course, you can remove all of unwanted apps from the rom before flashing it.
Edit:
Read here about what apk's are secure to remove http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=989283
Thanks friends,
I even did it through titanium backup. I took a backup and then uninstall. Its goes very smooth without much prob.
Thanks

SimUnlock O2X Under CM7: Help.. 8(

Hi our deer community and my fellow Optimus 2X owners.
I just realized that I am in a quite a predicament. Long story short I ended up with this locked phone from god knows what country (spain I guess, so it's a whole other carrier) with CM 7.1 already there then I discover that there's no hidden menu which is essential for unlocking it and only the original Stock ROM 2.2 from LG is the solution.
So I am now under 2.3.7, 2945#*900# gives nothing.
Please can you suggest me what other options I have, can I downgrade to 2.2 and still have the Hidden Menu, and what about other software solutions of upcoming fixes. Or is it doomed?...
Thanks in advance.

I meant dear community, pardon me it's the autocompletion.
And the both the codes 2945#*990# and 1809#*990# and the shortcut method didn't work, so what are the risks with going back to 2.2?

You lose all of your data so do backup and save yor files from internal sd card as well.

CM7 doesn't have hidden menu, for this reason the code doesn't work... Flash a stock rom (v10d froyo or v20s gingerbread) and unlock it, simple
Thanks for reply, so even with Gingerbread stock I can unlock it that's awesome, can I use any country package or a specific one based on the IMEI?

If your on custom rom dont use appzorter they are in conflict with each other. To organize your apps in custom rom use its own setting, you dont need appzorter. Appzorter is an app for stock rom.
Just took appzorter off rebooted phone and now I'm missing apps.....it is strange!

Check if the apps were hidden by the launcher
Yep no hidden apps...when I use the stock launcher to organise the apps some disappear put when I use appzorter the missing apps appear again...weird...

Removing system apps: cannot root

I have recently Restored my N1 from an ICS ROM and am back on Gingerbread 2.3.6.
I am wanting to remove some system apps but I cannot for the life of me find out how to root the N1.
Much googling has lead me to dead ends and dead links and I feel I am missing something really obvious that everyone else but me knows.
The guides I have found on rooting all appear to involve custom ROMs which I don't want at the moment.
The bootloader is still unlocked and I know at some point in the past I did have the device rooted on gingerbread but I can't remember how?
try www.unlockroot.com

Is that a trusted source?
Yes It is.

Yep, that worked
Thanks.
If I may be so bold... what would be the best app to use to actually remove the system apps?
I have used one in the past but found that when I removed anything it would shut off the nexus completely and not actually remove anything.
use titanium backup. it would be safe to hv a backup via a custom recovery, before removing system apps...
