[Q] Problem changing font in miui - Android Themes

Hello I just started theming..
Anyway, first thing i wanted to do was change the fonts in a .mtz file.
So i took the .mtz changed it to .zip extracted it..
replaced the fonts in /fonts and renamed them the exact same names (Arial, Arial-Bold, and clockopia)
Zipped up the theme, renamed it to .mtz
the fonts however do not change.
I can see it in theme chooser, but my font does not change when I apply it...
and if it does, it just changes to the default font..
Why is this?
I have tried a few fonts, all with the same result. they are .ttf which I was under the impression was okay. Is there some fonts that just wont work?
From what I read I am not doing anything wrong...
Thanks in advance..

Help! Can't change fonts with froyo

I used to change fonts easily before froyo using the Root Explorer method but with Froyo when I reboot the N1 after changing the fonts it will get infinite loops!!
Is there any solutions to change fonts under froyo?
Works fine for me using metamorph.
Is it easy to do a font pack for metamorph?
If you want one of the fonts in this zip it's very easy:

As far as adding a font and having metamorph recognize it in an xml and apply it, I'm clueless.

I havent tried it on Froyo, but when I was running cyan 5.0.6 I replaced one of the fonts in the skaggz zip with a different one I wanted to use, applied it with metamorph and it worked fine. There was no need to edit any files unless I had wanted to change the name, but I just left it unchanged and my new font had the name of the one it replaced.

Default CM7 Theme

Can anyone tell me how to change the default CM7 theme before flashing or the name of the default theme apk. file ?
Im wanting to change the system / default theme while its still in the zip file or on my desktop , i want to completely remove / replace the default theme i dont want it one the phone at all
Thank you in advance for any help
The default theme is within all the apks that are in the ROMs zip file.
There isn't an .apk for system. The system setting in Theme Chooser tells it to use files/images in the system. To do what you want, it is easiest to use ZipThemer or metamorph to replace the system files.
with ZipThemer or metamorph will i be able to change the files with in the zip so when you flash the new build it has just the one default theme i picked and not the default one it comes with ?

No, they would have to be applied after every rom flash, but that is a pretty fast process.

[Q] change icons using ninjamorph

a simple question if i want to change some png in framework-res.apk i have to put them in drawable-ldpi or drawable mdpi?
also there is a way to mix a theme from theme selector and png i insert in framework-res.apk?
Can.
I only recently downloaded ninjamorph but have not tried it yet...but it's known to cause some issues if u don't use it correctly. But it is simple.
Zipthemer is also a similar and widely used tool.
Better use a PC to do it if u have access to it.
yep i'm using pc to change icons but ninjamorph for repaking the apk when finished, as far as i tried even if there are ldpi and mdpi changes only takes effect if png is modified in ldpi, and just a few works... i really have no idea why even if i overwrite them somee are still there as i never modified them
Yes our roms are a lil weird, it chooses some icons form drawable ldpi and some from mdpi. But any changes in the png always did stick for me. Are u on a theme or just on default system theme?
But use PC for the entire process and check, just open the framework apk in a zip archive, drag and drop the new png in the appropriate folder, if It is ur framework apk then no need to sign it. Just don't extract it.
Btw replace icons in both ldpi and mdpi, unless u know which icon is being used. Which icons are u trying to replace?
i can directly mount /system from recovery or do i need to use adb method? i just tried some random icons, the goal is to change lockscreen circle icons (cm7) and in-call stuff
Well yes u need adb to access anything from recovery. But u can also replace framework using root explorer, though not the best method but can be done. I've replaced lock icons..zdune's miui lock icons. U can also use a flashable zip if u know how to create one or if u find one. But root Explorer works.

Changing system font files in EMUI

Hi, I'm sorry but I'm not expert when it comes to flashing files but I do have some basic knowledge. I have a question. I'm running stick emui 4.0. And I wanted to change all the stock Roboto fonts in my phone to the San Francisco font. I know I could do it by applying a theme but I actually want all the typefaces, bold, medium, thin, light etc. So I found a zip file which was meant to be flashed on stock android roms and it had all the San Francisco fonts faces (Link at the bottom). So I extracted the zip file and within the /system/fonts directory of the extracted zip file are all the fonts I needed. So I was wondering if I root my device and access the root directory of my device and replace the all the fonts in the /system/fonts with the fonts I found in the zip archive. Will it damage my phone? Or brick it? Or cause any other problems? And as I'm running the stock emui 4.0 rom will it cause problems when I'm changing themes or change the font style by applying a theme? If there's anyone who has done this or has an huawei phone which they experiment on it would be great if someone could help me. Thanks and sorry about the long post
The font zip file is the last one in this thread named "San Francisco UI"
