[Themed Rom][Darkstar Open Eclair 1.2.2][2/25/10]

Hey all, I did the best I could to get this to Darkstar on open eclair 1.2.1 baconweave.
This is a full rom so you will need to do a full wipe before flashing.
I did not build this rom so thanks to the open eclair team for an excellent 2.1 rom and I would also like to thanks to all the brilliant design minds that created Darkstar. It is by far my favorite theme. That is why I did this. I can only hope they will create a real theme for open eclair releases.
As always I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device....

mate you have done a great job porting our theme. thanks for saving me, cache and freeky some time. if you dont mind could we expand on this to add everything else like xmls edits and finish up the port? you will get credit of course.

Have at it. This was only my second time messing with themes so I did the best I could with the limited knowledge I have. I just finished with the framework-res.apk, the services.jar and the launcher.apk for 1.2.2

yo dude change your default launcher to regular and your phone will speed up 300%.
Not kidding, that thing is a RAM HOG

Dude wud that matter much since the gl drivers have been updated to the point the entire thing wud be faster and once 1.2.3 comes out that wud be way faster wudnt it plus I've taskilled launcher 2 and restarted and everything is fine not like its a loading screen on a sense rom anyway

Anyone know how to get this lockscreen for the Hero?

I think it's from a G1 ROM, not so sure, I'm just wondering if anyone knows if there is a version of this for our hero.. it looks soo beast. It's from KSpec Oreo v.31 (I can't post links go to AndroidAndMe forums, official post your home screen thread and it's posted by someone called DroidHead near the bottom of the 2nd page.

You normally flash it the same way as a ROM, with a signed update.zip, but that theme is for the G1 MC 3.1 (? - not sure), so if we tried to flahs that, we'd brick our phone

the question is a littlebit off-topic but do you have a link to some blank lockscreen (i'm searching for that) like used in vanillain rom 5.0,
just provider and click, not the 'curving' ;=) thing

IMHO it looks like a modified 1.5 Cupcake Lockscreen, so i think you can't use it on 2.* ROMs.

I can't access that site from work.
Someone please upload/link me to the theme/lockscreen, and I will port it over.

Nice try but that is just a picture, there has to be the actual file from the theme somewhere.

to be honest i dont know where the lockscreen file would be located so...

Any way to get Red Dawn V2?

Hello, i was browsing in the sprint hero thread and was looking in their 2.1 catalog and seen the Red Dawn V2 theme and really want it for my Rooted eris running WW (clean) Rom. Wondering if there is any way to get this on there? I tried and it sent me into a boot cycle.

not sure if you wanna switch roms or not but i know that the Red dawn V2 you linked works on fresh 3.0 rom......as well as the blue alpha theme.

thank you for letting me know that the fresh rom works with Red Dawn. Thinking I might flash over the Fresh Rom and try it out. Mostly I've been trying to figure out exactly what MM themes work with which roms. Kind of a battle.lol

i know exactly what you mean.....the fresh rom is very nice,ive had no problems with it and have had it for about a week or so now.the links in my signature also works with the fresh rom.below is what it looks like with whats in my signature.

Very nice, I'm really liking that theme you got there. I finally got red dawn working, Thinking I might try the theme you have there. Where do you go to try themes? Do you browse the Sprint Hero themes? Or where would you suggest getting some nice ones?

i just went in the cdma hero section and just looked around for the themes that were sprint based.then did nandroid back-up.then flashed then and see if they would boot up over the rom.
i liked the red dawn,but my only problem was with the contact wording being black on it.otherwise i loved the look of that theme.
if you happen to come across anymore......hit me with a pm with the link in it plz.im always looking for new ones.

Looks interesting! I think you need to compile a hero version of cyanogen with that new xml for it to work.
I'm actually trying it now, so fingers crossed and I'll report once I've got the ROM running

Lol... patience, my young padawan. Turns out that the original xml posted in Droid Mechanics' blog was not compatible with the current CM6.1 source format, so I needed to edit that.. (something about id assignment) resuming compilation as we speak
EDIT: it also turns out that I've pushed my little lappy a bit too far; my linux partition is outta space. I'll continue work when I'm on my big machine again at home. Prolly later tonight (if I don't crash driving home through the snow )

Okies... I've managed to get it working
But...
1) The carrier text is not displayed correctly (should be right-aligned)
2) This _will_ change your framework-res.apk. Having build it using CM6.2.0 RC0 (currently nightly), it _might_ not work on other ROMs.
Once I get the text properly aligned I will put up a framework-res.apk and a metamorph package for those who want to try

I've created a two options for you guys to try... but first:
DONT FORGET TO NANDROID
Having said that: I honestly do not know if this will work or not (my hero is also also my main phone and is currently running my own custom build of CM6.1), but for those brave enough to try here you go!
(all files can be found HERE)
Your options are to:
replace your framework-res.apk with one of these (this will reset any theme you've applied!):
(plain) Cyanogen 6.1 - Stable
Floyo 1.2.0
Froyd 1.7.2
or use a metamorph
(plain) Cyanogen 6.1 - Stable
Floyo 1.2.0
Froyd 1.7.2
Again, I have no clue if this will work, so backup first! I recommend a wipe of cache (and maybe dalvik) as well.
Post if it works or not. If this way turns out to be one big mess, I can share my private build, but hopefully this will work.

Sorry, but no. The framework is totally different and the power widget is exclusive to Cyanogen mod CM6 which is android 2.2 based.

You betcha! I'm currently learning as a ROM assembler and at the moment my first ROM with natively build gingerbread theme is booting up

Here you have the new radio. But it's possible that this RADIO will only work well with ICS roms.

Yep, it should work with any ICS rom.
