Do you want TW4 on your Samsung
Epic? Yes you do. Believe me. Ever since I got my first
TouchWiz-powered device, I really hated it, and found myself
using other 3rd party launchers instead. But ever since I
upgraded to a rom that came with TW4, I immediatley found my
new launcher. It was love at first site. I've worked very hard to get
TW4 for all Epic 4g owners.
To install this amazing launcher, first
make sure you are rooted/deodexed. (but who isn't nowadays??)
Next, make sure you are on Clockwork v3.1.0.1 or higher. Wipe
cache and delvic cache 3 times. Don't wipe data unless you want
all your stuff to be gone (TW4 isn't worth THAT much) install the
.zip from your SD card, reboot your epic, and enjoy.
Hasn't this been out for a while now or is this something different

I never flash tw4, I take the two apks, and place them in system/app, and remove the original tw, fix permissions in cwm, reboot
Idk if this is the same as the OP, but this is the most stable version I have found. So naturally, I saved it to my dropbox lol

They worked just fine, for me atleast. Others did have problems however. If this is yor work, and not stolen, while not to my taste, thanks for TW4.

I have been using Froggers version for over a month. For those that said it was buggy and they would get fc or lockups I had the same thing until EG22 and EH06. Since EG22 and EH06 came out it has been perfect. Not a single issue.
This seems pretty stable... However, i wiped the cache 3 times and flashed, nothing... So i extracted the apk, renamed it and replaced it using root explorer. Once again, the Program Monitor widget doesn't work, but it a small price to pay... Kudos!

I was using TW4.5 on EG22, then i tried the maddog TW4 theme addon, nothing but freezes.
This seem to be best so far... Im on EH06 Deodexed stock.

Too lazy to find the thread myself, but if you look in Samsung Galazy I9000 themes & apps forum you will find a heavily modified touch wiz 4.5. I have been using that.
It looks kind wonky in landscape, but it works pretty good. Not the smoothest launcher out there, but still looks nice.

this over eh17 its better than the old touch wiz I like how you can go from screen to screen just like the galaxy s2 Epic touch its great I seen it on the s2 video yesterday now my epic can do the same thing I was wondering if someone could take that feature& put it on a ROM or theme?

TW4 always seems good at first, but then it started giving me reboots, freezes, etc. (that was on EG22, hopefully EH17 won't have the problem)
As great as it is, I don't think it's worth it until we get TW4 widgets. Now that would be awesome.

Here is the unsigned zip. It is working and stable on my Epic. I booted in cw and installed. That simple I did not make it nor take any credit for it. Just passing it on to this board.

the only way any lwp could be a real "battery drainer" is if u spend a lot of time with ur screen on sitting on ur home screens, a lwp isnt actively using battery if ur in an app other then ur launcher or if ur screen is off
Anyone notice that when your battery is low there are less microbes and they seem to move slower?
is it possible to install this on a non rooted Epic 4G?
Something incorporated into themes these days is causing the media scan to erase photo files. Please consult with Mystery as it doesn't occur on stock SRF or Emotionless Beast Resurrected. Thanks!

Easy way to test is to use Shoot Me. It'll run a media scan and delete the pic you just took.

Not on my themes. Maybe themes with gallerys other than the srf 1.2 one which is from the desire apparently.

Yes, yes, even Odined back to stock and reinstalled everything on a clean phone. I'm not an idiot. Haven't you also noticed threads about it popping up everywhere now. Other testers are finding the same things. We talk.
I've never encountered my files erasing on any theme, any build, ever. I like to test stuff for ****s and giggles. As for why yours is doing it I'm not sure but it could be any reason, I suggest odining back to stock and reformatting your sd card. Wipe the slate completely clean and see if you can reproduce the problem from there using the problem themes.
So far it looks like you're in the minority on this one man.

Actually Shake and Bake was the theme I was on when all of my photos got wiped out too. I didn't think it was the theme but if I remember right I did post how the media scanner was reading the SD card as it does on a Gingerbread ROM (in two parts but one says system media then the second part SD media) or along those lines. Usually it just goes through the "scanning media" twice. That being said, Shake and Bake and Nebula are my favorite two themes of the new crop personally. I am running Nebula now

This kind of attitude is funny...no one said any theme is perfect...
But you can't just come out with a blanket statement saying "themes" are doing it...that tarnishes peoples views and not to mention other peoples hard work. No one in here is being anything but helpful and informative. Sorry if you feel otherwise. Now since its only happened on the shake n bake theme have you mentioned it in the orignal themes thread? Not the ported thread but the thread that it was ported from?

Hey guys, just seen this and thought maybe it would be pretty cool to share with you guys. Seems to be a launcher designed for Sony's Xperia play, and I gotta say, it looks pretty cool! From what I've read this ONLY WORKS WITH 2.3 GB ROM's. Anyone on Froyo is also welcome to test it as well, but just a heads up, 2.2 ROM's seem to cause FC's with this app. Enjoy! It's not formatted properly for our screens, and for it to display like the screenshot, it requires a build.prop to Sony Ericsson. I have it installed but it installs and it looks like like the regular arc launcher.

This is exactly what the title says. This is a flashable version of the most commonly themed apps to return your phone as close to stock as I'm willing to upload. This will also remove the lockscreen, hotspot, reboot, and silent mods from your phone. I also included the twlauncher30 in this.
It will not uninstall apps such as the new transparent facebook, or other non-stock apps. Those can be uninstalled with root explorer or app like that.
Flash just like you would any other theme.

Because there are several themes that included a themed tw30 launcher. It can easily be removed. The main goal of this is to return you as close as you can get to stock without having to wipe your data.

Directions... Download everything you need from above. Place them all on the root of your sd card, EXCEPT the MIUI theme. Place the MIUI theme in the "theme" folder located on your sd card in your MIUI folder... sdcard>miui>theme.
Do a nandroid back up, then a factory wipe. Format system and cache. Flash ICS vibrant fixed. Before rebooting, flash Vibrant ICS.. Fix permissions. Reboot.
Now, to set your theme. After your done with the above steps and are booted up, go to "themes" app. Look for "black ice" and hit apply.
Your almost done. Next open your favorite apk manager (I use astro) and search for ics launcher. Install ics launcher and presto! your done. Restore your back ups as usual and dance around the room. Now all your friends will be jealous that you have ics (sort of) and they dont.
Make sure you follow all the credit links i have provided and thank everyone! I am only the messenger. These guys deserve a standing ovation, or maybe a pepsi at least?

That's just an emulator launcher, it's not the real, official ICS launcher.
I'm pretty sure devices with buttons won't have those.
BTW, the GalnetMIUI ICS is not real ICS. IT is GB with ICS framework merged into it.

it will be interesting to see if we'll get hardware acceleration, or if even the officially upgraded phones will get that feature.

Yeah, i have a ICS theme but my notification tray looks different then yours, ie the icons are smaller and date is moved. Yours looks closer to android 4.0.

I'm also running a full ics experience. I have a JVT simply stock rom with ICS theme that I found in the i9k theme section. I also have an ADW theme to emulate the icons as well. I'll post screens and links if anybody wants them later when I get to a computer.
