To gain S-OFF you are going to need to downgrade the HBOOT. Have you successfully unlocked the 2.00 HBOOT using the procedure at HTCDEV.com?
That is the first step. Then you can use the downgrade tool and this RUU:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0a...5AU_3805.04.03.27_M_release_189979_signed.exe
Tried this?

This should've worked.
xtc clip , fast and hassle free
drawback? permanent s off, (non reversible)

If you really used an XTC Clip to get S-OFF, then you should also have carrier unlocked also.
You can verify this by putting the phone in FASTBOOT USB mode and then running the command:
fastboot getvar all
If you are carrier unlocked, then you cidnum value should be 11111111

If you had HBOOT 2.00 but you told the XTC Clip that you had HBOOT 1.09, then you have probably messed up your phone.
You can try using an official HTC RUU and see if that can get your phone back to a full stock state.
Since you have HBOOT 2.00, you need to use a 3.xx.xxx.x RUU that is appropriate for your carrier, country or region.
basically trying to get s-off on my device i am on hboot 1.54 as i recently updated to sense 4.2.2
CID: ORANG001
MID: PN0710000
version main: 2.24.61.1
now i have rooted with TWRP & wondering if i can use this nandroid to downgrade:
M7 CWM Nandroid Backup / CID ORANG001 / 1.28.61.7 (Orange UK - Thanks to Azzabear)
http://click.xda-developers.com/api... / 1.28.61.7&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13761274174228
would it work & would it downgrade the hboot?
Nandroid won't downgrade hboot.

Sorry, I've no experience with RUUs - never used one. I would guess it would but since you're S-ON you obviously can't superCID, so you would need to find the proper RUU for your CID.
There is no known way to downgrade an hboot on an s-on device.

Just wondering for my own interest, gunny.. what does an RUU restore? I thought it was stock hboot, firmware, rom, recovery, etc. (everything basically). Or is it just that it can't downgrade even with an RUU if you are S-ON and would need to wait on a new RUU being released? Unless you're S-off and can superCID, then your can run any RUU - and that would downgrade *everything*..
cheers

The RUU is as far as I know a collection of all of the partition images for the phone.
Even with S-off it is not possible to downgrade an HBoot without flashing that HBoot separately. IOW if you are on a 1.54 firmware, in order to flash an RUU containing 1.44 Hboot you have to flash the 1.44 Hboot by itself or else the RUU will fail.
SuperCID (11111111) will pass the CID check
It is my understanding that in the past, S-off meant you could downgrade with just the RUU but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
The RUU install checks a few things
MID and CID
HBoot must be the same or greater version number
if these checks fail, the RUU won't flash even with S-off
The beauty of S-off is, we can flash these things manually without the RUU bypassing the checks.
You can simply use the DD command in a root shell and copy the partitions to the phone, but this is dangerous, because if you put a partition in the wrong location, BRICK.
My knowledge here is not as advanced as many here, so someone please correct me if I got any of this wrong.

You need the exact one for your phone/region if you are S-On. Also, you can't downgrade your Hboot when you're S-On. I suspect you are on Hboot 1.54 seeing as you want to downgrade? Well you can't as you couldn't even go S-Off on that Hboot unless you had S-Off before you upgraded.
In a nutshell, you're stuck with what you have until somebody finds a way to go S-Off on Hboot 1.54 ... Why on earth do you want to downgrade anyways

You can't run an RUU though, other than the one made for your model/region and it has to be the same as the version you are on, or newer. To run an RUU that is an earlier version than what you're on requires you to be S-Off I believe and if you're on 1.54 then there isn't currently a way to get S-Off.

Like I said in your previous thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552669
You might want to read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082
If you read, then you will understand that the RUU you want to execute need to be compatible with both your CID, MID and hboot version.
So yes its possible, but you need to be s-off to change CID/MID and to downgrade hboot if required.
and please don't start 2 different threads for relatively the same questions.
Hope it help

yes, use revone tool for hboot 1.44 or use rumrunner tool for hboot 1.54 and 1.55
This is the first thing listed in the thread I linked above.....
First you need to be S-Off, this will NOT work with S-On!!!
A) If you’re on hboot 1.44 use revone to get S-Off: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2314582
B) If you’re on hboot 1.54/1.55 use rumrunner to get S-Off: http://rumrunner.us/ and http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2487888

I can't answer that cause I'm not familiar with rumrunner since I s-off'd my One when it was on 1.44 hboot with revone. In theory rumrunner 0.5.0 should work on all international variant with hboot 1.54 and up except verizon model that need a different version of rumrunner. Maybe you should ask help directly on rumrunner thread for that step or search the forum for similar issue with s-off on 1.55. Hope you will find out.

I went back and forth with rumrunner and moonshine while using a rom 4.3 GPE ROM with twrp and it kept failing. ultimately installed a 4.1.2 stock then used revone and it worked wonderfully. I was able to remove the tampered flag, unlock the stock bootloader and flash the GPE 4.3 and receive the updates. I also only have a mac so i was limited in not being able to run .exe's.

Tampered flag is just that, a flag. It doesnt hinder anything, just a pop up for "Warranty" purposes. The flag pops up when you unlock the bootloader but when you get S-Off you can remove the flag.
Since you have access to windows i would go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428276 and find the .exe RUU for your area. Just get into your bootloader, select fastboot usb and run the .exe. Pick the lowest firmware available so you can ensure that you get the 1.44 hboot.

The zip can only be used with S-Off where as the exe is designed to be used to return a phone to stock with S-On.
Just get into fastboot and run the exe, it should do the rest for you. It will wipe the entire phone, but as far as I'm concerned, a blank phone is better than an unusable one.
I'm not sure if the hboot makes a difference, but mine downgraded when I flashed an older RUU.
Once you get the older hboot and firmware, you may have to unlock your bootloader again through HTC Dev, then S-Off. Once your S-Off unlocking your bootloader is much easier.

If you want to run a GPE RUU.exe your phone MUST have CID compatible (BS_US0001) with GPE and MID: PN0712000
you can check that with this command:
Code:
fastboot oem readcid
fastboot oem readmid
if they doesn't match, you MUST be S-OFF to change them
If your device is currently a DEV edition, you should already have PN0712000 as MID so the only concern is that CID need to match GPE RUU
You should post your
Code:
fastboot getvar-all
and remove imei and sn so it will be easier to see what options you have.
