Im having a small lag issue at certain times. Once in a while the phone will hiccup a bit during messaging. I will be typing words and its way behind what I am typing. And I am by no means the texting champion. Is there a Kernel that will help improve this, or a lag fix? Can someone help me out...Thanks!
Also, I have only flashed this one rom to my device ever... So not very experienced. I did try to run voodoo one click lag fix and soft bricked, but restored with Odin. And then re-flashed this rom im using now. Whats necessary to re-flash and try a different rom?

Which ROM have you flashed & which lagfix have you applied? You have to give as much details as possible.

I installed voodoo lagfix on my captivate phone......whenever i do a call.....the other party seem to have trouble hearing me....there is lots of background sound...(microphone sensitivity is probably the culprit.....)......
anyone had this problem before? if so, how can i fix it?
using captivate i-896 (rogers) on froyo 2.2 stock

Use a different kernel.. Preferably the speedmod kernel by hardcore from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893880
One reboot and it should work!

I have the same problem, except that I upgraded to Froyo thru Kies. I then rooted with Supercurio, installed Voodoo Lag Fix, then installed Voodoo Control for my sound. But now, I have no sound. I don't want to have to roll back to an "older kernel" because I've got to have that lag fix. Any help is greatly appreciated???
there is no voodoo sound for CKB1 yet...there isnt any source .....

Oh boy. So, what in the heck did I do?? I have no sound now, and this happened right after I downloaded Voodoo Lag fix. Could that be the culprit?

how did you 'download voodoo lagfix'?
you mean you flashed a new kernel? did you flash a PROPER kernel that has been MADE FOR THE CAPTIVATE?

I hope it was a proper kernel. I went to project-voodoo.org on my phone, downloaded voodoo lagfix 5.4.1 onto my phone, renamed it "update.zip", then used Rom Manager to flash it. I then got the whole robotic-voice, operation-will-be complete-in-5-minutes deal, then presto. Please help. I have no sound. I just uninstalled Voodoo Control App that I got from the market, too.

i dont know what you downloaded, but unless it was specifically made for the captivate, ie. a REORIENTED kernel, you have an i9000 kernel. i would suggest you flash a kernel that actually works for our phone, have a look in the dev forum...theres lots of options there

I followed the instructions from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=969697
All I'm trying to do is get some sort of lag fix on my newly downloaded Froyo phone. It appears that Voodoo's lag fix is the only one that works for some folks, but you have to have the Voodoo kernel in order to get the corresponding lag fix. But my only problem is that this lag fix made my sound go away. By the way, I flashed back to the original Froyo, and my sound suddenly re-appeared. Is there no other lag fix available for Captivate roms?

I have tried Perception and Cognition. I have tried all combinations of kernals and modems but no matter what I do I get very bad voice problems (dropped words, static etc.) when I use my cappy as a phone. Could the problem be in the phone itself, and if not, does anybody have any suggestions.

I wanted to reply to this post but I couldn't because I dont have enough posts to comment in the development forum, so I appologize if this is in the wrong location.
Just wanted to say that I'm experiencing the same issue as richsale with Cognition. Friends were complaining that my voice was very staticy and unclear.
I flashed back to stock using Odin and everything sounds normal now. So it seems like this is not a hardware issue.
Has anyone faced similar issues with some roms?
Thanks
Most likely its a modem issue - see the modem thread in dev section..

So I reflashed Congnition 3.04 and it's working now.. Before I was running it with GB's kernal, dont know what modem. That may have been the culprate.
I have Baseband I896UXJL1 right now
IIRC, Cognition is based on stock Captivate, while GB is a reoriented I9000 kernel. To run it, you'll need to replace the stock modem with an I9000 equivalent (JK4/JL2/JL3/KP1 all have ardent supporters), otherwise you'll run into voice problems. I believe it has to do with hardware vs. software noise cancellation on the two devices.

So as long as my kernel and modem match I should be ok?
I'd like to flash a faster kernel on top of cognition. Perhaps SpeedMod or GB.
Hi guys. There is something wrong with my phone and hoping you guys could help me work out what it is.
I'm currently running DlevROM 4.2 with Dark Core 2.9.3 kernel with JV5 modem.
For some odd reason, with 80% of my phone calls, after about 5-10min the other person can't hear me anymore but I can still hear them. I'm sure i haven't accidentally touch the mute button or anything because I take notice of the screen the whole time and it was off.
This same problem also occurred when I was with Apex 8.2 with TalonDEV kernel. And also occurred when I was with JK4 modem.
Any idea what the problem might be guys? Maybe a Gingerbread problem phone?
Have you tried flashing a different modem?

Yeah from the default Apex 8.2 modem, I flashed JK4 modem. Still occurs
When I plug my phone in to charge it stays at 800mhz instead of throttling down to 100-400mhz like its supposed to. I'm on pinnacle ROM and its taking forever to charge. Anyone else have this issue and maybe have a fix for it? Thanks.
Are you using Tegrak?
Yes, I do have it set to throttle down and using Ondemand scheduler.
Kill it and check if it get fixed. I recommend rebooting it after you change tegrak's settings.
Killing it seemed to have worked for now. How can I fix it so I can still overclock? It hasn't done it all the time, Just recently but I haven't installed any new apps or anything.

Try clearing the app's cache. Maybe even Dalvik if you have too? Don't know.
I'll try, thanks man.

well, getting rid of tegrak didn't help. Still charges and stays at 800mhz.

Try unistalling it then installing it? I've used tegrak on 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 and never had any issues with it.

Tried that and still no difference......can't figure it out.
What Freq and Voltage you running on each level? Are you using Tweaks? You said you had it "Ondemand" scaling but what min-max Freq?
Edit: I decided to test Tegrak on a 2.3.5 Beta Fusion build, seems to work fine.
Edit 2: Flashed another 2.3.5 beta build and I got that problem you had. Ill keep looking in to it

It might be a problem with something included in Pinnacle but I can't narrow it down.
Ondemand 100min-1200max with stock voltage settings.
Na Fusion VII Beta is doing the same thing. I think its a tweak on the kernel maybe? I've been kinda busy and will be for the next few days, so don't know when I'll mess with different kernels.
I'll try the other kernel option and see what I can find.

I'm having the same issues on continuum with latest talon kernel. And it's been installed on my phone for weeks now and the problem just started. I also have an issue with media server running constant and it gets the phone hot and drains the batt....not sure if the two things are related, but it all just happened all of a sudden.

Using cpuspy or other monitoring software, what speed is it stuck at when charging? Are you running tegrak as well?
