Hi guys,
Where can I find the stock froyo rom to downgrade to? Reason for this is I want to update to gingerbread via Samsung Kies.
Also can I use Froyo Stock Rom from any country?

I called samsung south africa this afternoon, they provided me with the following for my device in south africa.
Model Number: GT-P1000
Firmware Version: 2.2
Baseband Version: P1000XXJMA
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build Number: FROYO.XWJMI
I found it on samfirmware and flashed it using Odin etc.
Now im running the stock rom I initially had.
I have connected device to PC with Samsung Kies, it now tells me that my current version is the latest version. So this means the update for Gingerbread 2.3.3 is still not available in South Africa.
I will go back to Overcome Kratos which was running quite fine thanks
Thanks everyone for your input and advice

A general question

Hi,
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S.
I don't know anything about Android.
Because it was a used phone when I bought, how can I know if it is rooted or not? Do I have to root/unroot to be able to update to Froyo?
It has no stricker on it or no logo on phone start of any gsm carrier.
I9000XXJF3 is the model.
Thanks from now..

You never have to root a phone to update it..
You are using a european SGS.
My suggestion is to install kies though, and update it, because JF3 is from June
When I go to Firmware Upgrade via Kies it writes:
Model Name: GT-I9000
Current Version : PDA:JF3 / PHONE:JF3
This device's version cannot be updated.
This means you have latest firmware

[Q] What do I need to do to move from 2.1 XXJG1 to offical euro 2.2?

Hi All,
I an currently running a rooted version of 2.1. The build number is ECLAIR.XWJG1.MCR-r2.
The baseband version is I9000XXJG1.
I would like to upgrade to the official 2.2 Euro rom.

It's a rooted version of the Modaco custom rom.
I am guessing that I will encounter problems if I try to use Kies. I am in Ireland so the UK firmwares would apply to me.

[Q] How do I know my original kernel version?

I rooted my phone without noting my original version first. Any way to find out my original kernel / rom?
Thanks
Can you tell us where you are in the world? Are you running a custom rom?
Depending on where you are, we can tell you the possibilities and the latest stock rom/kernel. If you know your stock rom version, it's as easy as looking up the version notes to see the kernel version.

So currently I have:
Android Version: 2.3.4
Baseband Version: I9100XXKG1
Kernel version: 2.6.35.6-I9100XWKDD-CL161513
[email protected]#2

Go to
samfirmware.com
Go to the mobile section, android, i9000 then look for the most up to date version for your area. I am in canada, so I don't know right now what version it is.
you can tell me the version if you find it, and I can tell you the kernel version.

Sorry, I did not understand your instructions mate, stuck at finding i9000 after clicking on "mobile" link".
You need to find the stock firmware for your region. It's by country, split into north america, asia, middle east and africa, europe and provider firmwares. Once you know that, you can follow a guide to flash the firmware you want.

[Q] P1000 with version 2.3.3

Hello everyone i have Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 and i update android version from 2.2 to 2.3.3. I want to install 2.2 version because i have troubles with version 2.3.3. I looked on the internet but do not know which version to download.
Umm why would you want to go back to 2.2? Not many apps quite support froyo nowadays. You could go to www.samfirmware.com and find the latest 2.3.6 gb over there. Best one yet is the Hong Kong one.

The smallest problem is the applications on Froyo.Tab works slowly and therefore I want to go back to an older version because less RAM is occupied and tab works better.
In Linux/android, RAM unused is ram wasted.
Not like Windows.

A few days ago he worked with a small deceleration and today is too slow if you can not send me version 2.2. Tell me which version i install that tab will function normally.
The version in my signature. Overcome Series 7.
It is a GB 2.3.6 Samsung based but tweaked to run faster.
Follow the link in my signature and download the guide.

Is there any possibility that I install this rom on version 2.3.3 and what will change as I install it?
You need to completely wipe.
Overcome feels like stock ROM, especially with stock theme patch.
But under the hood it is much more.

How this is used? Flash using CWM Recovery or using something else? thnx
All stock ROMs at samfirmware are to be flashed using Odin by putting the tar.md5 in the PDA field.
