Does anybody use skype video-call on p990? I tried with 2.046 v11 (and severl older versions), but without success. Now I'm using modaco rom gr1 (gb 2.3.4). Maybee problem is in kernel? Any sugestion?
As it says in the below post which was posted a few minutes after yours. Froyo doesnt support video calling. thats why it works on the gingerbread release from modaco.

On all the devices?
Why not, NVIDIA's fault?
Video over Gtalk works on GB rom by Erestor, using stock Talk app. Very simple. Maybe that helps...

I think its because tegra has no neon support

Yeah, i installed skype but i can't call video. I can call video call with yahoo mesenger. It is best to video call.
This is not NVIDIA's or LG's fault. It is simply due to Skype not supporting them yet.

Hahaha.....yea tru!!!
I'm gonna run to evo page lets check it
As of right it seems that none of the Video calling apps work with 2.3 at the moment. It'll be a little bit before devs get an update out. I assure you that it's not just the video apps working, but other apps as well. It's the same thing that went down we first got froyo.
Tango
Try Tango, It also works cross platform, to iPhails and CPU's...
I tried yahoo, aim, tango and qik. They all don't work...I hope they do something about this soon

Why so glum?
If Skype could get video chat working with it now, I'd be happy. Not many people I know have phones capable of video calling, but I do have family in parts of the country that use Skype.
finally!!!
Nice, my gf has it working on her Epic 4G.
Awesome. Thanks. Downloaded

Anyone who has Tango, and the Market app can see that it now supports the Nexus S. Should be make a new thread every time an app supports the Nexus S?

Yes, if it is a desired app such as video calling.
Why are you being a jerk about it? I didn't have Tango. I was waiting for something to be supported. Guess what? I downloaded Tango and now I have fully supported video calling.
Who wants to test it with me? I wanna check it out. PM me your email/phone number.

Is this app working well for anyone? I tried video chat with my brother today (he has a Nexus S like me) as well as my dad (who was using Tango on an iPhone 4). All of us were on Wifi. Video quality was terrible. Audio latency and quality were terrible. On the whole, it was unusable for us.
Wifi didn't work well for me either, haven't tried 3g yet.

Alright, I need someone with broader knowledge than me.
I would like to achieve video calling between this Nokia C7 and my G2x. What are my options?
None as yet.
Use fring to video chat. Best app for video chatting on all platforms. Can even do group video calling.

Video chat Fring works on G2x?
If you get on GB, you could use GTalk on the 2X and Fring on the Nokia maybe.

Noo, don't take it back. By the same logic, Skype video calling works on G2x as well.
Skype doesn't work yet as far as I know

No, skype video doesn't.
Or you could just do a regular video call... (Could be expensive depending on your operator of course...)
edit: regular means through the phone network, not the interwebz

What kernel/ROM are you using?
Skype Video only works with some FroYo ROMs. Doesn't work with Gingerbread or Honeycomb since the camera drivers aren't available.

Would love to hear back from yorkygeorge on what OS you are running. I'd be willing to flash back and forth to it just for skype. Thanks!
does anybody know how to capture video on Lg Optimus 2X? Screencast app doesnt work with tegra 2. are there any other options pls?
I have no idea what you're talking about or how to help you, but it might be nice to post some more info like for example what ROM you are using and kernel.
Well, i think Rom and Kernel dont matter here, i just need to know if there is any chance of recording video (of what im right doing on my phone) and i said i know there is a program for it (called ScreenCast, but this programm doesnt work with Tegra2/3 devices). So my question is, is there any other way to record like that?

eraldo I had trouble understanding what his objective is too, but I think I understand now... he wants to record video of what he's doing on the phone... like fraps for the PC.
You'll have to make due with screenshots I guess...
Tegra 2 does not support NEON, and does not manage the display via a framebuffer so screen video capture isn't possible.

Argh :X, thats too bad, i will have to buy a Camera. But thanks for answer guys

Tablets are different and your device obviously uses a frambuffer the o2x does not, however tegra 2 doesn't support NEON at all.
You may use Droid Explorer or Android VNC Server, for getting video by usb cable on your PC. But for this method frame rate is very low.
I use screen recording software to do that. It is not only able to record onscreen video, but also can take screenshots.
