Has anyone had success with a specific app? I saw mention of SetCPU working for one person. I confirm DroidOverclock does NOT work. Multiple FC issues.

none of the current apps will be compatible. A seperate app and module will need to be created, especially since the d3 is locked down like a btch

SetCPU seems to be working doesn't FC atleast
Interesting: android overclock showed a governer I've never seen before. Moto_hotplug. FWIW.
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
SetCPU also shows the mot_hotplug governer. And it hasn't been FCing on me. But then I haven't played with it either.
I used setCPU. Has two governors that I haven't ever heard of including the moto_hotplug and another. I switched to userspace and didn't notice much.

when i overclock(691mhz) my performance drops and phone gets laggy.to prove it i benchmarked it on antutu and it is true.i get half of performance of 600mhz.
someone experienced this issue?

Spyder mentioned that the module actually underclocks on that frequency and below. Try using a higher frequency.

yep, i tried 729MHz it worked for me
My cappy is running grate but it heats up when I am using Facebook or xda why dose it do that and how can I fix that it even dose it when I play games it don't do it when am on phone

It's pretty simple really. When you are using your phone as a phone it doesn't require a lot of your processor or ram. However when you are using apps, especially apps that have a lot of graphics to them then you are using substantially more of your ram and processing power. And the more the processor and ram are working the more electricity is flowing through them and the hotter it gets.
Think you I been trying to use ram manger and here what I have it runns smooth am on aokp m6 my ns tools set to this governor conservative, min CPU freq 100mhz,Max CPU freq 1000mhz, oc value 100%, oc target low 100 MHz, oc target high 1500 MHz....

Those are the default settings besides conservative

What should it be tho set to

Can some one tell me some good settings to put it on plz my CPU and stuff
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda app-developers app
If you're on the stock kernel, there aren't very many settings to set. Even with a custom kernel, each phone behaves differently and the only way to find out is by experimenting.

I am using cm9 now. I wonder where can I set the CPU speed? Do I need to install some app?
In addition, what is moderate speed to begin with.

You'll have to download an app from the play store. There are free ones and paid. I use No Frills CPU, though there are several other good ones. Set CPU is a paid app, though you can get it free, being an XDA member. A search here in the forum will turn it up.
I set my CPU speed to 1.5 max max, and 354 min. Set the minimum to at least 354, that will eliminate the SOD (sleep of death) problem that sometimes effects our tablets.
Enjoy!
Thanks.

Did this happen on many ROMs? Or a specific one. If this happens on many ROMs, i am baffled.

many CM7 roms. everything just force closes then when i restart the phone, its justs show me bootanimation.
It's a bit difficult to digest that you faced this problem in all CM 7 ROMs. Coz i myself have tried the most popular CM 7 Roms out here but have never faced such a problem.
Also are you sure you followed the instructions clearly?

If you've installed many apps and you've crossed the dragons under the performance settings, your clocking frequencies might be causing the issues.

That's what.. You can't run facebook like heavy apps being clocked at 600MHz. They eventually fc. Similarly if you overclock above certain limits, you will start to have reboots and boot loops. In short, instability.

I never do OC's. However choosing a right governor is recommended to solve the FB problem (without underclocking too, of course)...

I'm trying out elemental x kernel, and noticed the gpu overclock option. What exactly are the benefits of overclocking your gpu in a cell phone? Also I'm assuming my battery life will suffer a bit. Anybody have any comments on the matter?
