Hi all.
This is quite some time I'm experiencing this issue and also other SGS users I've met.
When playing a video, there is a slight delay between the sound and image.
Can you guys please test is with your SGS? Simply record a video at the best quality. Make sure you have lips movement so you can see the sync issue.
After you're done recording, simply play the file.
Do you get a delay?
you can see in my signature my kernel version. I'm using Orange stock ROM.
p.s. - I've noticed the delay also while playing video from youtube.
Anyone???
Anyone tried this thing?
Please help!
I'm having the same problem with recorded videos. Also verified that the delay is still in the video when playing them on my pc. I'm pretty sure that in JM2 (2.1) this error wasn't present yet. I'm using Speedmod k9a 300Hz, on a JPA rom with JPP modem.

I'm on froyo 2.2 and it happens.
Here is a video record from my amazing SGS I9000.

The video quality is set to the lowest in my phone, hence .... the quality.
You'd think that with this low quality, there shouldn't be any problem.
It seems that only a hand few suffer from this problem. What could be the difference?
We all use the same hardware.
I could have sworn I used to be able to watch HQ videos in the YouTube app. But now, it's like my Hero can't handle it. When I try enabling HQ, the video doesn't show, I hear jittery audio, and my phone becomes very unresponsive. Unchecking HQ fixes all of this, but... SD is so blurry
If it matters, I'm running CM6.
I notice this problem if the video is available in 720p/1080p on YouTube. But if it's only available in 480p or lower, the video plays fine. I think it may be a problem with the app (plus our phone being underpowered).
I never tried the HQ option with the new builds. I'll see if I get the same issue.

I suspected this was the case... too bad there is no way for us to set 480p to be the maximum. I have tried playing 720p .mp4 files and indeed they experience the same problem, problem solved when using 480p.
Yeah. It's definitely choppy. No way to correct it?
hi all
I have just a OTA update last night but this is not 2.3, this is just some bug

Was stuck with a HD video, could not found any player to play it correctly
I only use the stock player from LG optimus 2x come with. but this still can't play 1080p but 720p is fine for me after I got mine LG P990 v10b update last night,
so I have to test my FHD recording later and see how is the fps and quality

The two Tegra videos (1080p) that came with the phone run just fine, even on HDMI out.
You are probably encoding your videos with the wrong AVC profile. O2X supports nothing other than baseline profile, so all else will be laggy.

no I have try the same video in 720p mp4 is laggy before the update, and now everything work fine, and this 2 FHD come with the phone is difference
p.s. I didnt encoding I just download a 720p MTV video from youtube without converting or re-encoding.
Reviews have said that 720p is better then the lower 1080p 24 fps - so you might want to just stay with 720p.
You should never really notice a difference on the phone, and on a TV monitor, even at 30 fps, it is hard to notice the difference until you get up to a 46-50 inch or larger screen.
Encoding, downloading, doesn't matter. If it is anything other than baseline profile it will lag no matter how many updates we get. That being said, I don't know what youtube uses, so it might be something else completely.
Is any way to record video without dropping frames? All my recorded videos have stuttering effect and it is very annoying. I'm on Nik_IncredibleS_TriNiTy_SensationXL V 4.5 and using default camera app, i tried couple of other apps but it is the same. All my videos are recorded outside on a sunny day. Some of them have 17fps, my best is 26fps.
Should it improve. Dont be irritated 'cos of the Desire hd.
Edit: Flash through Recovery
Thanks for reply. I just flashed trough recovery but there is no improvement at all, the recorded video is on 18fps, and here is very beautiful and sunny day. I just flashed the Camera Mod, no need for some settings?

Normally it should improve Fps and Pixels...
No need for settings.
Tried another cam apk?
Maybe a dev could help us/you.
Maybe oc could effect the fps..
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA
Yes, i tried Camera ICS, but with the same result.
That's the problem with IncS, if you record a video in 720p it's always little bit choppy, tried it on every rom and always the same result, switch to lower res and everything will be ok.

Pozdrav za imenjaka
That's the problem, on EVERY resolution the problem is same, 19fps, 21fps. I tried with 800x480, 640x480, even 320x240, no luck.
I have noticed one thing, sometimes recorded files have .MP4 ext, sometimes .3GPP, sometimes sound is mono, sometimes stereo, and i don't change anything in settings?
Anyone tried to edit /system/etc/media_profiles.xml for better record quality? I found something here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188310
Hello people, I have my mi9 since 3 days and I really love it. It's a great phone, but today I found wierd bug in camera app. I recorded with 1080p 30fps with stabilization on. After few seconds of recording phone freezes, but audio recording is still going, after a while it resumes. Video like that is kinda unusable. What's more when I'm in camera app on video tab sometimes it freezes just on viewport, without even recording. Does anyone have similar issues? Any help would be appreciated.
Here is a link to bugged videos (I'm new so I can not use link tags yet, sorry for inconvinience):

This may be too late, but I had similar problems with the camera app freezing when image stabilization was enabled at 30fps. In the end I discovered that some sensors were not functioning at all (gyro, magnetic, light and compass); My guess is that at least first two feed info to the stabilization algorythm.
I managed in the end to solve the problem by flashing a xiaomi eu rom from twrp.
