Here are the APN settings for Telus, according to their website.
http://www.telusmobility.com/en/QC/phones_and_devices/setupdata.shtml
Hey Thanks Skadude,
Looks like my APN settings are correct.
Maybe it is my baseband version: 3GSMEPU91A.09.04I is the one I have now.
Is this correct?
I am thinking that I just might need a new SIM card instead.

It's close. My baseband version is 3GSMEPU91A_U_91.09.04I
How did you flash the baseband? I flash using FuFu's minimod.
I haven't flashed the baseband by itself.
Don't know how.
I just installed telus 2.2.1. It is whatever came with that sbf file.
Is there a how to and a baseband download?
Thanks, skadude

You're on stock Telus 2.2.1? Are you looking to get custom ROMs loaded up on the phone?
I was trying to get a custom ROM installed, but I was having problems with installing openrecovery3.3. So I had to settle on a telus 2.2.1 sbf fresh install.
See this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238263

Try this:
-Root with Universal And Root beta 5 (find on XDA)
-Backup apps with TitaniumBackup
-Flash http://android.doshaska.net/rootable sbf using RSD Lite (rename the sbf to c.sbf it makes RSD Lite cooperate more)
-Once flashing is done, place OpenRecovery on the SD Card, and overwrite the files with this: http://code.google.com/p/minimod/downloads/detail?name=Minimod V0.05.zip
-Place the custom ROM that you want in OpenRecovery/updates and google apps depending on what you are flashing
-Create a Nandroid backup of your phone
-Wipe Dalvik Cache, Cache Partition and Data/Factory Reset (under Wipe menu)
-Flash Custom ROM
-Wipe ONLY caches (dalvik + cache partition)
-flash Google apps if necessary
-Wipe caches again
-Flash Baseband (Telus.zip)
-Reboot.
I'll be on for a while, so PM me or reply here with any questions, I'll see it quickly.

One thing I forgot to ask, Skadude

Glad it seems simple! It took me some time to get my Milestone up and running so I just remember what I did wrong and corrected it for the how to
Hey its been a while.
I have finally made some time to work on this milestone,
I have followed the instructions, but have run into a little trouble.
I am trying to install steeldragon rom. But now it just boots into the bootloader. cannot get past that. How do I get it to boot in new rom?
How do I boot into androidiani-openrecovery directly anyways?
Thanks

Using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=983516 and I cannot get OpenRecovery3.3 to install. Getting erors applying the update.zip.
And on top of this, I applied the sbf file to return to stock, and I lost the 3G, now only got "H".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ROM Manager does NOT work on Milestone. You need to flash the 2.2 Vulnerable Recovery from android.doshaska.net/rootable and then place OpenRecovery on the SD Card, root the phone from OR, and flash your custom ROM that way.
What errors are you getting from OR?
I am getting this error when I am trying to apply the update.zip:
Code:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Also cant figure out why I am getting "H", instead of 3G. I see two versions of sbf (regular & service version). I used the regular 2.1, was that right?
Thanks
Heeter
If you are looking only to root your phone, you dont need OR.
Universal androot and z4root, both work to root your phone.
Difference between service & non-service edition is that non-service wipes your phone completely, while service does not.
I z4root'ed it already.
I am trying to install a custom Recovery & ROM.
I am trying to get it past 2.1update1.

There is a 2.2.1 official update which you can get from the link below.
http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone221
If you are looking at flashing custom roms, just install got 2.2.1 which has vulnerable recovery included. Then download FuFu OR which has more options to AOR 3.3, extract to sdcard, place your custom rom zip file in openrecovery/updates folder.
Reboot to recovery. Choose apply sdcard update.zip and your OR should boot up. Choose apply update option to flash your custom rom.
Note that ROM Manager and CWM do not work on the milestone.

Sup People.
I recently noticed that my GPS wasnt working on CM 7.1.0.1. After searching this forum I found that quite a few people were also having the same issues so i've decided to compile this guide (all credits to OP's, i'm just putting this info in one place)...
theres not much to it to be honest, its just the information on the issue is just scattered around - plus there are probably better and more complete guides out there

Then again wipe everything and restore the cm7 backup. Now gps will be working. And once gps on cm7 works, then even after a hard reset it still works. This seems to be an issue only when freshly installing cm7. This is definitely a safe method.

Download radio zip above [19.25 or 20.10 as you probably have 15.31]
Put Radio .zip on root of SD card i.e not in any folders
Start ROM Manager
(ensure you have CWM 2.x.x.x)
Click Reboot into Recovery
Flash .zip from here by going to install zip from SD card
Don't forget to wipe caches first
Reboot phone by using the "reboot" option in cwm NOT by removing the battery

The process will take about 10 mins so be patient
Make sure you have sufficient battery charge and do not interrupt the flashing process.
I used the 3xeno and nejc121 method's above. Downgraded my CWM (which is only temporary if selecting through ROM manager) then flashed the 20.10 radio. 3xeno recomends flashing the 19.25 radio first to see if that works but i went straight for the 20.10 = WORKING GPS

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU DO TO YOUR PHONE. IT IS YOUR DECISION TO GO AHEAD WITH THESE MODS SO ONLY YOU CAN BE BLAMED FOR YOUR ACTIONS

In simple terms.
1.gain temp 2.5.0.7 cwm via Rom manager or temp update zip if your on a newer version already.
2. Flash 19.25 or/and 20.10 radio.
3. Reboot.
I have NEVER wiped anything to flash a radio as it has no influence over caches whatsoever.!!!!
Whenever I had gps issues I just flashed the 19.25 radio then test gps. Then re flash 20.10 radio. Never failed me yet. Lol.

Can someone please explain how to install it?
I'm trying to go from CM7 to MIUI 2.2.10
Same procedure as flashing any ROM.
Wipe everything, apply update.zip, done.
I did that, I wiped the Cache Partition and Davlik. (After I did a backup)
Then I installed the ROM from the US MIUI site. When I boot it up it boots into BootLoader. -____-
you select the right rom for your device?
otherway just test the MIUI KoStoM Edition, its a moddet MIUI from Germany but also include English and some tweaks, also working apps2ext is includet and for me its a nice and smooth rom
you can download latest version here: http://www.android-files.de/build/indexrom2.php
the site is german, but i think with google translate you will understand whats to do
after downlaod just flash in OpenRecovery and make a factory reset (wipe data and cache)

if u want MIUI on milestone go here: http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/archived-miui-versions-milestone-gb.16556/

Also, i think the US miui stopped making miui for milestone.

according to a search in Google its not possible to be retail and have a demo because its 2 different ROMS.
you can use TWRP to wipe everything Data, Dalvik and System.
Then use the backup.
This are tips so please use at your own risk.

dont know what to say to that, however, you can try this:
