mClock and Sense 3 - Thunderbolt Themes and Apps

I can't seem to get mClock to work with any Sense 3 roms...anyone else experience this? When I add a 4x1 or 4x2 mClock widget and select my template (have tried several and get the same end result every time), it seems like it adds the widget but there is nothing there...just an empty widget....any ideas?
Thanks!

I would look at the code if you know how. I found some times the devs put the target background in another spot so it wont work. I had to my self fix this. Kinda helps if you know a little html. If not ill post a link how it should look like.
Lets take out the normal stuff. On your sd card it should look like this "/sd/mClock/" in there should be your clock files. If not that might be the problem. All my mClocks work on bamf3.0 roms.
Hope this helps

Realize weather icons from oscarbum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3032867&postcount=24
[UPDATE] Added neon weather icons to neon.zip file (adapted from original Vito icons)
[UPDATE] See post #59 for extra Neon icons in a dll file. They can be used by calling them in a .lnk file as described elsewhere in this forum.
Briefly, you make a txt file and the syntax would be, for instance:
81#"\Storage Card\Program Files\CorePlayer\player.exe"?\Storage Card\My_icons.dll,-20
where the number 20 is the icon index in the dll file. I've also attached in post #59 a png file showing the icon index number for all of the icons in the dll file.
Best of luck
Great, thank you!
That's funny. I've been working on a new theme for WAD2 using this set and it didn't occur to me to use it for WF. Nice work.
Amazing Work! Thanks
For me, THE best skin for winterface... great job, and thanks for sharing
Posted the various links for WF themes here on xda-devs...
...at blog.iwindowsmobile.com
and the moderators keep removing them.
I wonder why :-/
i think they still see skinning as hacking. but then what do they expect if they don't offer alternative themes themselves? even though the software is pretty good, many people won't buy it because of the oppressive look of the UI.
people want a constant theme running through their whole device and application UI, or they want to be able to tweak things to their satisfaction
*more people will buy the software*
hope someone from Vito reads this.
i love it man vito/iwindows should allow open skins for this it makes it more attractive...and i was think (maybe its too ipone-ish but) they should lock the bottom bar and allow us to put our most used apps/settings/contax etc there just a thought but im addin this new skin to the collection
Great! Thanx friend!
thanks for all. I like it. I love the VITO Interface but now it has a very very good look and beautiful colors...
Thanks a lot...
Just for a laugh...
...some hand-drawn icons added to first post
nice, nice... thanxx man
Nice, thanks dave
If you ever decide to do another Winterface theme...
Here's some things I've found that might save you some time....
1. Don't do a calendar icon. Winterface replaces it with the background icon in the black file and puts the date on it.
2. Don't do a clock icon. Same reason.
3. Also, the weather icon in the icons file is no longer used. It pulls the info from the weather icons.bmp.
4. On my phone anyway, Winterface doesn't use the calculator icon. Kind of an odd glitch.
5. I don't use bluetooth, so I don't know for sure, but unless the plain bluetooth icon opens bluetooth explorer, doing all three icons is pointless too.
6. This next point actually adds time, but I noticed you did not do anything with the top row contact icon. It is skinnable, you just need to make sure you do EXACTLY the same thing to the contact icon in black.bmp.
Great job, as always. I hope to be back working on more icons soon as well once I finished my Blackberry Bold theme for WAD2.
Another theme
Here's one I threw together this morning. (Are we nearing the point of simply having a Winterface theme thread?)
I don't know if I've posted the weather icons before but it goes well with the realize theme.

Although I think it does use this icon if your default calendar app is not the standard Windows one. One way of working is to have your appointments shown on S2U2 as you unlock and use a better calendar such as Thumbcal as standard
2. Don't do a clock icon. Same reason.
3. Also, the weather icon in the icons file is no longer used. It pulls the info from the weather icons.bmp.
That's another ton of work I have to do :-(

Mine neither, but I figured that's because I dono't use the standard calculator
5. I don't use bluetooth, so I don't know for sure, but unless the plain bluetooth icon opens bluetooth explorer, doing all three icons is pointless too.
Yes, the plain one opens Bluetooth settings
6. This next point actually adds time, but I noticed you did not do anything with the top row contact icon. It is skinnable, you just need to make sure you do EXACTLY the same thing to the contact icon in black.bmp.
I thought the very same thing this morning. My upcoming theme will change this icon as well

Should be able to post another here in a day or so, depending on whether I take on the buttons and the weather icons as well!
Good work and thanks for the tips
well i notice the slide to unlock image (lock) is messed up. also, there are pink dots on bottom left and right of bluetooth icon.
other than that they're amazing. thanks for the icons.
we are also waiting your last theme with realize icons, oscarbum.
thank you both.
is anyone else having this issue.. it's also noticed when i move icons around and when one icon goes over another, it has parts of the icon that is transparent and that's how the lock looks when it appears. this is vga supported, right? i have touch pro.
Yes, I think that's the messed up lock icon that was mentioned
on another note though, I can' get the contact pictures to work if I change any of the contact icons as you said oscarbum.
I've tried changing the two in black.bmp and the one in icons.bmp in every combination and it doesn't work.
The pictures need to work in three places in the theme:
When you view you contacts ready to dial
When you select the contact to bring up details
When you add a contact.
There is no combination of changed icons (all identical) that works.

Help with HtcClockWidget

OK, so I'm new to this. I'm running Fresh Rom 2.0d. I pulled the HtcClockWidget.apk to try to make a clear clock. I also wanted a clear weather for the large flipclock widget, so I modified some pngs in com.htcWeatherWidget.apk.
I modified all the pngs and pushed the clock back to system/app/. I then pushed com.htcWeatherWidget.apk back to system/app/. Now I have lock my clock and weather widgets all together. They show up in the app folder, but are not in the add widget screen.
How do I get these things to show up.
Thanks in advance for your help.

no problem
I tried option 2 using Andro. When I selected "Lauch", it gave me the error "Activity not found - com.htc.widget.clockwidget
Well, I did the first (long) option. That fixed it. Thanks for the help. Now to find the png to clear the flip clock divider. I thought I modified all of the images, but I guess I missed one.

This sounds awesome...let us know if it works out for you. I'd love to have a clear weather/clock widget that had the special effect when unlocking your phone. The clear widget on the first page of the themes thread does not have the effects.
If it's possible can you post the apk's on here so we can use them also....or let us know what pngs you pulled so it's easier for us to mod our weather/clock widget as well
Thanks man.....

Request - Default WinMo Icon Set

Odd as it may seem, I have never been a fan of ROMs that come with altered icons for the programs in my Start Menu. I used to hunt for ROMs without altered icons, but those seem to be quite few and far between. And those few and far between ones are usually lacking somewhere else.
So I'm curious, if anyone has an Icon Set that I can use with JWMD Icon Changer, or if someone could make one? Or if you have the raw Icon files, I'll throw one together.
Again, I'm looking for all STOCK WinMo Icons.
Thanks!
just download a sys package and you have them all n more will only take about 5 mins
Where would I find something like that? Have a link handy?
Please see attached.
Awesome!!!
Thanks so much.

Gloss Icon Buttons

Ive been learning how to do my own PS type work and have come up with a couple sets of glossy button icons with text. So far ive only been a consumer in the Android world and thought it was time to offer a little something should anyone be interested.
The two zip files contain 43 button icons each. One set is a glossy carbon look while the other has a carbon fiber infield with red boarded text. Both sets are .PNG files and if you have any software which will open them feel free to make some more and or change anything you wish. I made these from scratch based upon a tutorial I found on the internet and from hear on place them in the public domain so have at them.
Here are a couple screen of then on my phone. I havent fine tuned the background but you can get the idea of how they look. Using Virtual Desktop you can scale them to any size you wish as well as link them to whatever application your prefer.
Seems im too new here to attach photobucket images.
thanks very nice work.. will look good on my DINC...
Very nice work, you earn my respect, I can just dream of something like this made by me...
Hope those who have DLed these icon buttons have liked them. Im a bit of a noob at the PS aspect of things and noticed that if I were to export the icons they will retain the same qualities yet are substantially reduced in file size. Example being one of them went from 55KB to 9KB and the zip files were 1/10th of what i offered originally. So, if you feel like it grab another set and lessen the load on your CPU.
Im working on a set of small normal size icons that match and offer system setting functions so check back in a day or so.
Added a set of matching smaller icons to the original post list. They are a little larger than normal sized icons and fit 5 across on a Droidx. Remember you can adjust the number of columns and rows in LP to best suit your layout needs.
I guess a word on what to do with all of these...
Use LP Plus allows you to resize all that you add. Download "Desktop Visualizer" from the market and install. You will find DV when you long press for widgets on the home screen.
Ive been using the 3x1 for the larger buttons but found the 2x1 works as well. For the smaller icons use the 1x1 (not the first listed 1x1ss). Once you have them extracted to a folder all you need to copy the folder to your SD card. Ive been putting them in the DCIM/Camera folder. Then when you have chosen the icon size to use you simply browse to the image and then select a function.
Some of the smaller icons need to be associated with an event rather than an application. Instead of tapping Application, choose Other and then "Activities". A new list of options become available to map the icon to whatever you want. Just take a little time and read the smaller print listed under the activity. Some of the display and sound related items are found in the Settings folder.
Ive also found that DLing an app called "Blocco" (free @ Market) and a few of their plug-ins are useful as well. There are plug-ins for Airplane mode and wifi toggle etc. If what you selected doesnt work just drag it to the trash and take another stab. I figured it out so you should be able to as well.
Added the psd file for both types of the carbon button icons. Feel free to make your own by using photo shop or similar software. Just edit the text, reposition it if needed and export the new image. Exporting the image will reduce the file size a lot and help with phone performance.
Included buttons say Market

First of all....VERY nice work. Nice and clean. Second..I downloaded the .psd zip and when I opened it, I didn't find the .psd....only the market.png files (one red and one black). I assume this was an accident, but I wanted to make an icon for TapaTalk. So far your one of the very few that have done TechBuzz and I thank you for that. If you would be so kind to either verify the .psd file and re upload it or make a TapaTalk icon, I would be very greatful. Thank You.

These are beautifull! Some green one would be cool too.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
These look sick! Do you mind if I use some of these in my theme? I might alter them a little to match. Good job!
no problem, do as you will. I put them here for anyone who can use them.

[Question] How come there aren't any PowerAMP widget skins yet?

Considering how popular PowerAMP is and how long people have went without customization for that program, I find it really strange that a version that supports custom widgets (and anything else that uses the PowerAMP API) has been out for weeks, but I have not seen any custom widgets.
Did I miss anything?
Good question. I've been wondering the same thing and I've searched every other day, no such luck.
Seems like a very popular app, surely some capable people greatly dislike the blue glow or gradients as much as I do... yet cannot deny the efficacy of the app itself!

I'm guessing because it just came out and maybe he hasn't released anything to any developers to help with making skins. You can already download the skins widget for it to get transparent.
Bumping this for more replies.
I tried to edit the apk for personal skinning a while back and for some reason could never get the recompiled apk to install. Every time I tried I would get something like "Package not properly signed". Use several different compiling and signing tools always with the same result. So I abandoned that idea and like you, waited for someone to do it for me.
Well, I was able to quickly modify the PowerAmp Widget Skin pack a little bit. I'm not experienced "theming" much of anything so I wasn't sure how to modify the font color.
I modified the background image of the widgets (4x1 and 4x2) to a half transparent black. I also changed the colors of the buttons to white.
If anyone can give me any tips as to which xml files I should edit for the font color, that would be most helpful! I can't try anything right now since I'm at work.
I used ZipSigner 2 to sign the apk, so it should hopefully be installable like normal from a file manager. I'm on a Droid X if it helps for reference.
I'd love a transparent widget and white characters to match the green wallpaper,...
I'll try to see how u did to change the app background...
