Hello
I just installed Darky's 5.2 ROM over my stock 2.1-update1 and everything works fine, but whenever I receive a call something (dialer?) gets a force close and the call is rejected together with a temp. loss of signal.
Then everything is back to normal...
Any steps I'd take? I'm pretty new to this.
have the exact same problem... can dial out no problem but only receiving calls. so thinking about whether I should flash another rom until this is fixed.....
I was wondering could I just do a factory reset and then flash the rom over again? Do I have to disable the voodo lagfix before? Not too sure how this works heh.
I don't have this problem. But whenever i am in the game "flick kick football," I get some random hangs, and is forced to close. I suspect that happens when I get incoming calls. Anyway to confirm this?

I have the same problem. I recived a call, something force closed, the signal dropped and i lost the operator. I had similar problems with bluetooth and file manager before on this ROM, but I re-flashed it and everything worked again.
no problem here with Darky's 5.2 ROM and the Clean Guide Instruction, i just received a call without any problems
I used the easy guide and did not clean anything or do a factory reset, I just followed it like a dumbo. I came from 2.1-update1 stock JM5 kernel with a ton of apps installed, if that helps.
hey I think I found a solution to this. I went to recovery mode, wiped cache, wiped dalvik, did a factory reset and voila, receiving calls works without force closing.
phew.. was about to download another rom. anyhow, hope that works for you Jule!
still a few problems with the ROM that i encountered:
- my AT&T home button is not working.... not to sure whether there will ever be a fix for it
- media volume, even set to max, is not working when playing movies and youtube.

I'm having the same issue too for com.android.phone. EXACTLY the same as u. I lose signal for a few secs then it's ok again.
Look in the "Stock 2.3.4" thread, there is a cmw.zip with a fixed Phone.apk, just flash it via CWM...

your kernel??
I also get this on JVH (and JVB before that) - always phone dialler searching for contacts by entering digits. Also using Go SMS or stock SMS client it sometimes happens.
CF Root.
I have even flashed 2.2.1 and upgraded to 2.3.3. though Kies. Still the same. It's driving me nuts.
Same fc issue. I had to revert back to 2.3.3 again. Very annoying. Another thing everybody i am talking told me to speak more loudly because they can not hear me and that my voice is not clear.

I had the exact same problem with JVH (but not with any other firmware, including JVP). I tried to re-flash JVH (with re-partition), but it persisted.
I then went for an even older FW (an Eclair ROM), then re-flashed JHV (with bootloaders) and it worked just fine.
I still don't know what caused the problem, but that's how I solved it... Hope this helps!

Why you guys even did not read the first page instead of posting rubbish?
Shame on you!
I was on a call and it FC'd and network signal was lost as well.
I dont know if FC was due to lost signal or lost signal because it FC'd, either way its a major bug in JVP.
Sorry man but are you stupid?
I had that too but only 1 time, after i hang up phone suddenly lost network and after cuple of seconds it was back. No FC no errors. Maybe it is becouse of dirty sim card, i had samsung i5700 before and had to clean sim card, after cleaning it never happend again.
Hello there.
I have a big problem, recently i decided to root my X8, install xRecovery, and finally flash GingerDX v019 so i could enjoy the benefits of 2.3 on my phone, since SE's costumer service and device support just suck.
Everything is working just fine, including wi-fi and data transmission, bluetooth, etc, except for one big thing: the phone calls (incoming and outgoing)
The weird thing is, after i reboot the phone, i can make or receive one call, but just one... after that if i try to call anyone it just says "call ended", and if someone tries to call me, they hear the service providers message instead of my phone ringing.
I have GingerDX v019 with no add-ons and stock kernel, i've installed a few apps but no task manager/killer... Help?
Thank you in advance...
P.S: I can however send and receive sms's without problem, and i've installed Go Contacts EX/dialer as suggested in another thread to a user with this problem on GDX v015.
The only way for now that i found to prevent this bug is to have the data connection always on (on stock 2.1 i turned everything off when i was not using and never had a problem)
Full wippe install again gdx via cwm full wippe and it should work

I installed via xRecovery, you think that might be the problem?
Yes it is. You must install gdx via cwm. Try and you will see that everything work
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
It will be a major pain in the a** installing and configuring everything again, but if that's what i have to do... Thank you very much
UPDATE: Just installed via CWM, and my little-big bug seems to be dead and buried, Thank You once again :-D
No problem....

Hey, I am wondering if you can help. My mate just got an X8 from ebay but cannot make calls from it, much like what is described above. Is there a guide on how to fix this?
Thanks in advance for your time and help
Cheers
Chris
The problem i had was caused by changing the software and flashing a custom rom the wrong way. If your mate cannot make calls from it and the phone is in stock condition (with the original software), then the problem is the phone itself. I suggest a complaint to the person that sold the phone and if that does not solve the problem, report the person to eBay. If the payment was made via Paypal, the refund is almost immediate.
Hi everybody!
I'm facing a big problem with GingerDX V19. For some reason, after a time of use (a day, a week...) I can't receive calls.
The phone rings and vibrate, but the screen is black. After some seconds, I receive a force close from com.android.phone. Then, the signal is lost (a small red 'x' appears on the status signal), and some seconds after I get signal again.
The persons who call me listen a one call sound, the the call drops. I can't see who is calling me, and the call log don't register anything!
It happens from nothing. The first time I install GingerDX, take 2 days. So, I upgraded again, but with LinuxDX kernel. Some days after, the problem appears again. About 5 days without problems, but yesterday the problem re-appear. So, I decided to unlock the bootloader, and try GDX with Alfs5 kernel.
I flashed yesterday, about 15pm. Today, about 13pm, the problem appears again!! I can't understand!!!
The only way to solve this is re-installing GDX with full wipe, but I have to re-install and re-configure ALL my programs. I read a lot of posts on GDX thread, but nothing solve my problem until now... "Force touch UI", disable "call me louder" or "looping ringtone", change the in-call screen... Nothing...
BTW, I CAN MAKE calls, send and receive SMS... But not RECEIVE calls!!
Any ideas?? I love that ROM, but I can't have life with this problem!!!
Thanks in advice!
try new [ROM] GingerDX | v021 | 05-12-2011 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188486
hit thanks
I have upgraded to V21, but the problem persists...
This time, I'm using LinuxDX kernel instead Alfs5.
Any ideas??
full wipe~~
Already tried.
When I upgrade, I do a full-wipe, clean cache, format data / cache / system partitions, as well clear dalvik cache.
More suggestions?
Found one reason: the "Call Me Louder" option on Cyanogen Configs.
If I turn it on, problem happens. If it is off, I can answer calls.
I can't post on dev section for X8 yet, can anyone report this to Doixanh on GingerDX thread??
Tonight I'll verify if another setting will be problem.
Thanks!
If you want to full wipe, just make a backup of all your apps using titanium backup. Not sure if the feature exists in free version, but hey! You can give it a try

Update: Solved (just reflashed the ROM)
I have a problem here with my X8. So, after I have successfully unlocked my bootloader without the network problem, now I have a wifi problem. So what I did was: rooted my phone, unlocked the bootloader, applied a nAa kernel (before that I tried the MiniCM9 with the ICS nAa kernel), then I applied the custom ROM called JoyOS... In both cases(ICS-MiniCM9, and JoyOS) I have the problem when connecting to a wifi router, I cant use it. I know it sounds strange but I can connect normally with the wifi but still I cant use it... I mean when I try to open google.. or use anything with wifi (like syncing) I just cant... it says unable to connect to the internet. I am thinking its the unlocked bootloader problem.. but I am not sure. Can someone help with this please.
Maybe just reset router...
lol???
Thats not a problem with the router... I am using the internet via that router writing this reply.. please dont be stupid and post something smart.
EDIT:
Still waiting for a reply.. I really need a solution for this..
Have u tried connecting to a totally different router cuz that may be ur problem, I have a friend who had a similar problem with an android tablet that didn't like his router so give it a go it won't hurt to try
P.S did it connect when it was stock?
Sent through my X8
it did connect when it was on stock ... and I am not sure but I think it actually was working a little while I was using the MiniCM9 ICS ROM and on the same rom actually the problem has occured. Now I am not sure if it stopped working because of the unlocking and applying a new kernel or something else happened in the mean time.. Could it be I disabled wifi somehow? somewhere?
What rom are you using? i only say that because when i swapped from minicm9 to semc debrand engine both wifi and 3g stopped working but when i switched back to minicm9 it worked perfectly again.
Try a Full wipe + wipe dalvic cache (or whatever it is) and install the rom again, hope this helps
Now trying to flash miniCm9 again.. we ll see now.. will update in a few minutes
Update:
Great, , just flashed the ROM again and now working well. Thanks anyway for helping.
No problem glad i could help
