How can I install a custom rom on my legend?

Hello,
I am a new user of the legend and I´ve read that custom roms are possible on the legend. But what to do to get a custom rom running on my legend?
I know, i have to root my phone but how can I install a new rom?
Is there any tutorial for this issue?

Enter in google the following keywords: root htc legend modaco
The first hit is a guide made by Paul. Follow it!
Then use one of the two cooked rooms. They have good tutorials on how to use them.

I am a complete novice at this and don't know anything about the various terms used in this forum regarding upgrading. Is there any complete step by step guide that i can follow to install these and upgrade my HTC Incredible S to Jellybean?
I would really be grateful for any advice/guidance that i can get.

The HTC Incredible S is not going to get official Jellybean from HTC. The only way to get Jellybean is through flashing a custom ROM but it will NOT have Sense (unless someone is going to port a jellybean release from HTC with Sense.
I made a guide on how flash custom ROMs and achieving S-OFF which is right in my sig. Just click the link, read once and make sure you understand, then just follow the guide.

true.. HTC will not be officially releasing updates post ICS.. but if you want to install custom Jelly Bean ROMS (there are a plenty), then download the ROMs from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136463

Hi dude,what you need is CUSTOM ROMs for sure!But few JB ROMs have sense working bugless now,personally I like HTC sense very much so I'm not going to upgrade to JB recently.

hi..i don't think there are any sense ROMs running on JB...can you point me to some such links.. in this dev forum, i haven't found any JB rom running sense...

You are correct, there are no ROMs running Sense and Jellybean for the incredible S. Personally, AOSP is much better and fluid in performance

hey ther i have gb rom indian firmware rooted by dr.ketans method!! ITS A NEWER GB ROM WITH STOCK KERNEL...CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ME A GOOD ROM..MINE KERNEL IS LC1...ALSO TELL ME IF THE FOLLOWING KERNEL S A SAFE KERNEL...

Take of the glasses of your Avatar and start to read the tutorials.
Good/Best Rom questions/requests are simply against the XDA policy because only you can decide what's the best for you.
And you do not need to shout (using Capital Letters all the time)...

what exactly you did not understand? and which rom are you on?

i managed to install it i just did the same step but this time i formatted the system and it worked and thanks for help!

I'm sorry but we dont do spoon feeding here. Click on the link to the ultimate information thread in my signature (or to the general section). There you will find a list of all the stable ROMs for our phone. CM10 is there too.

If you had only used the search function/browsed the forum, you would have realized that we have stock CM10.
I am seriously mindbaffled at how lazy people are getting.

Sky Dragon V18 is the best one out there.

Depends on what you are looking for. There are sense, gpe and aosp roms, some stable, some under development. Some of them are battery saver, some are performance masters.

Any other suggestions??

There is no best roms. Try some yourself and choose the one that best fit your needs.

yes but as am a noob i want some advise about which stable rom i can use...specially android 5.0...if you can hepl me i will be grateful

These are some roms based on Sense 6 and Android 5.0.2 you could try. Which one is better, try yourself and you'll know the one you like the most. You want to know if these roms are stable? Read the OP of each rom and you'll know if its a stable release.
ARHD 90.1
SkyDragon 18
InsertCoin 6.0.2
Liquid Smooth 4.0
MaximusHD 50.0
Resurrection Remix 5.3.0

Please follow all rules before opening a thread. Had you done so you would know we dont do best rom threads as there is no best rom. Try them out for yourself and make up your own mind. This is a developers site. Not a rom site. All roms are beta and flashing your device is not something to do just for the fun of it.
