Hello fellow members of XDA Developers,
My name is James , I am 16 years old. I am new on XDA Developers, I own a HTC Incredible S and recently just got to S-OFF and I installed Android Revolution HD 1.1.6 (ARHD) as my custom ROM as well as trying to figure out how exactly flashing works.
Actually, I've been lurking around and looking at posts as an unregistered member under the hTc Incredible S section and gained quite a lot of knowledge through learning from fellow members as their threads are greatly beneficial to me .
Now I've decided to make myself registered so that I could share the problems and interesting experience I had on my newly rooted phone and discuss with people about ROMS as well as techniques to mod and tweak them.
Well... Actually I registered so that I could reach out to you guys and get help and assistance from senior and more experienced users about my battery problem I'm facing.
Currently, I'm using No-Frills as an overclocking tool and I've been using CurrentWidget to monitor my battery but it still drains fast.
Anyway, I shouldn't bore you all with all this information about my specific phone because this is the general section(sorry) , see you guys around! Will be participating in discussions more often! htC Incredible S users , hit me up ! :>
Glad to have you abord James!

I think most people prefer the xda app over tapatalk. I know I do.

I'm using the XDA free app, which tends to be preferred... I've never tried the other though

Has anybody found a way to remove the page share button in the stock browser?
Thanks in advance
I would like this as well, or even link it to the default share options instead of the blur social app.
Or possibly make it a refresh button.

I thought the development section would be appropriate due to the fact that it requires accesses to root of the system of the phone, I always thought general was always for basic questions, im am so sorry for posting that in the wrong section.
I appreciate you contacting a moderator swiftly to fix this apparent huge mistake that I made.
Thanks for taking your time out of your day to correct my honest mistake and then reply with a degrading comment, your a true forum hero.

This is my first post on these forums.
Because of you folks, I went from buying my first Android phone not knowing a thing, to rooting my phone, flashing roms, even to editing my gps.conf manually to tweak a patch to suit my particular region.
The senior members are helpful, and the guides and information are top notch.
Thank you!

Had my old Kaiser right up to about a month ago when I split up with my gf and left it at her place. It was the original hacked WinMo/Android beast phone!! Went from that to the AT&T Tilt2 (Rhodium), to the HD2. It's too bad the HD2 is the last phone of that era. One of these days my Leo's gonna finally kick the bucket and I'll have to get a for real Android-native phone. That'll be a sad day.
Howdy! If you have time, could you all please complete this survey? (it takes 2 minutes/ has 11 questions) it would help me out for my dissertation/thesis on business/corporate web browser use. Thanks!

hi guys, I really love XDA, im on it all the time, But i wanted to make my own forum just like this, except its focused on just 1 phone, Is there any possible way to create a forum the same as this and excellent as this one?
If so, Can you give me a step-by-step walkthrough? Cheers (P.S, like i said, exactly (nearly) like this, so i can recruit mods, etc, mysql, php etc, anything, as long as its like this forum/website)
cheers,

well there are lots of free websites that allows you to create forums which you can manage as you like or create one on your own with phpbb, vb etc with your domain. If its a forum, you can assign mods, database or just anything else.

Well then you have to find oue, and make it do what you want. Most forums are based on phpBB or vBulletin. I think XDA is vBulletin.

Simple. I've made a forum before.
Buy vBulletin or another forum software. Get yourself some hosting, according to the specs. Install the forum on the server using the manual. Then just start tweaking the settings and get it noticed.

Hello !
Well... Good ! But I guess you can do much better with a Forumotion's free forum !
It's the best free forum hoster, which offers a lot of possibilities. You need to try !
May be worth considering whether or not the forum you go with is supported by Tapatalk. There's a list of forums they support on their site...
http://www.tapatalk.com/
I beleive the recipe is 2 parts vBulletin, 2 parts contributing users and 8 parts trolls....
Mix well and leave to simmer for 9 years....
Good luck.

Of course it did. Forums needs users and by only focusing on ONE device, the forum becomes a ghost town when a new version gets released. Its not a sustainable model at all.

The link in the last post is the rom I was referring to. Most of the ICS rooms can be found on the droidhive forums.
You asked a yes or no question so I gave you a yes or no answer.
I recommend waiting for an official ics if you really want blur so badly.
Or just get an ics theme for your blur rom as you wait it out.

Why not just link to it in the first place or tell him where to find it and save the forum some posts. Just because it was a yes or no question, don't mean your actually helping by only saying yes.

If people actually use it this thread would never have started.

Some people use the xda app, which doesn't have a search button on top. I have barely used a computer to access xda in almost 6 months. On another note, finding things for the bionic is much harder than it is on many other devices. This is my first android which I had to use 4-5 different websites to find all the files I needed. With my previous phones, xda was the first place to look for something, but with the bionic, it seems like xda is the last place you want to check. With some files, it was easier to google bionic root than it was to find it on here.
I've always felt that the rooting community are the embasssadors for Android and unless we are actively developing, we should be more than willing to help others who are having problems. The more we can help them, the less they will have to bother the developers for help. While some questions are based on people being lazy, many of them are based on the user not knowing better. The bionic seems to have a lot of newer android owners which helps explain the repetition of questions. I suggest when offering help, also let the user know of the rules we go by when searching before asking.
The sooner someone can get their phone running nice, the sooner they can go show it off to their friends and help promote the growth of android. I know I used to impress my iPhone friends back when I was new with wifi tether. They couldn't get a signal and needed to use mine. A couple of those people are now on Android.

I agree with everything you said, OTHER then the search functionality. I as well only use the XDA app. But from the home screen if the app, if you click the upper right hand tabs that says "more" it has the search function there. Which would save reposts over and over in all phone forums. It is irritating to read through forums, looking for new things, and reading the same questions over and over.
