My Mrs and I both have WP7 phones (her a omnia 7 and me a HD7). She is on O2 prepay and i`m on O2 corporate.
Her phone will display a nice little voicemail icon on the lockscreen when she has a unread voicemail.
My HD7 does`nt show this at all.
Does anyone know how to get the voicemail icon to activate? I`m guessing its to do with the Carrier, any info greatly appreciated.
this is driving me nuts as well. this happened a couple years ago and i called tmobile and hey reset it. i'd love to do this on my own without having to call them though.
this is one of the voicemail settings on o2.
If you get a text when you get a voicemail, you don't get the notification. You can change this in the voicemail settings.
I'm on TMOUS with an HD7 and I get the voicemail notification.
I`ve solved my issue - its (at least for me) a carrier setting inside voicemail.
I found that there was a "notifications menu" in the voicemail settings when I called my voicemail mailbox. In there I could change from text message to "onscreen notification".
That did the trick. Happy days!
Trying that now. Not optimistic...

I have an XDA IIi with O2-UK. Don't like how it sends my callers to voicemail after approximately 3 rings.
Does anyone know how I can alter this setting please?
From what I can remember this is network controlled and not done via the phone. Try going through some of the menus in the voicemail setup, I know the SMS notification is there, so I think the number of rings is there as well.
Hi all,
After I did the ROM upgrade to the official HTC WM6, everything works fine, well apart from the GPS, which I never managed to get it working and the icon that I should get when I have a voicemail. Now I get a text message with this "[email protected]" characters? Any ideas.
Thanks in advance.

I got the same problem..
the mobile however should still be able to recognize it as a voice mail message. You just get an extra messages in your SMS messages folder
A kludge that works for me:
create a contact with the mobile number of "[email protected]" (just save it to your contacts) with a name like "Voice mail Notification"
install wm6_threader (find on this forum) and it will create a thread per contact!!
works better than original.. why? cause you have history similar to
incoming calls
outgoing calls
missed calls
but for SMS.
In Canada at Rogers Wireless we get additional SMS messages for missed calls when our mobiles are off.
I called it "Operator Notifications"
I also use it for SMS sent from Microsoft, Google and Yahoo. One per website.
The attached cab fixed it for me a while ago.
Not sure whether you need to install the sdkcerts before or not, so I include them just in case.
Reboot after installing.
The voicemail fix is included within rabdo's 1.6 cab for Orange UK network setup. (Also includes the necessary certs).
If you are on Orange UK, I recommend that (I use it with every flash....)
I have some voicemails sitting. I got a prompt telling me of voicemail. I dismissed it. But then the icon on top of screen went hidden. Voicemails are still there, but no icon. Anyone else getting this?? Can this be fixed??
I',m having the same issue on Orange UK with no voicemail notification coming through... Any help would be appreciated. Running WM6 on a Treo 750
Orange voicemail
Dixter, you need to install some extra settings to get Orange voicemail to behave itself. Try this:

Works for me

Ok I have windows mobile 6 - but for some reason Im not getting the text to speech on Texts and incomming calls. It use to work on my phone, but I got a replacement and now wont work. I tried searching to see if theres an update I need or something and came up empty. Any ideas?
sounds like it might've been a feature of a program...most likely windows voice commander...which does come default on the t-mobile stock rom...
Sheesh Im an idot. Your right. It was in the settings for the voice commander. Thanks dude!
Hi,
I'm running Kangkat and recently ported to Lyca Mobile (MVNO for T-Mobile here in the USA).
I can make/receive calls and access internet but no SMS in or out and no error messages.
Lycamobile gave me a message sender# which needs to go into the phone, but I don't see where to put that setting.
I think it may be one of the settings where you have to dial something on the keypad to get into the secret settings but don't know how to do that. Any suggestions?
Thanks much!
